Russell H. Plumb served as the Vice President, Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer from August 2000 until December 2006, when he was named President and Chief Executive Officer. From December 1999 to July 2000, Mr. Plumb served as Chief Financial Officer of Emory Vision, a healthcare company. From 1994 to November 1999, he served as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Finance of Serologicals Corporation, a publicly-held biopharmaceutical company. Mr. Plumb received both a B. Comm. and a M.B.A. from the University of Toronto. Mr. Plumb has received designations as a certified public accountant in Michigan and Georgia.

Geoffrey Henson, PhD joined Inhibitex as Senior Vice President of Drug Development in 2007. Previously he served as CEO, President and Secretary of FermaVir Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 2005 to 2007. From 2003 to March 2005, Dr. Henson was a pharmaceutical consultant. He was a founder and Chief Operating Officer of AnorMED, a Canadian biopharmaceutical company from 1996-2003. Prior to that, he held a number of management and scientific positions in the Biomedical Research Group at Johnson Matthey from 1985-1996. From 1982-1985, Dr Henson was a researcher and member of the Basel Institute for Immunology in Basel, Switzerland. From 1978-1981, Dr. Henson did post-doctoral research at the Roswell Park Memorial Cancer Institute. Dr. Henson obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from New Mexico State University, and B.S. in Chemistry from Dickinson College.

Robert A. Hamm is our Chief Operating Officer and has served in that position since March 2009. Prior to that, Mr. Hamm had served as our Executive Vice President, Pharmaceutical Operations & Technology since October 2007. He served as Senior Vice President, Neurology Strategic Business Unit beginning from 2004 to 2007. Since joining the company in 1994, he has served in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility, including Senior Vice President, Europe, Africa, Canada and Middle East; Vice President, Sales and Marketing; Vice President, Manufacturing & Engineering; and Director, Northern Europe and Distributors Markets. From 1987 to 1994, he held a variety of management positions at Syntex Laboratories Corp. He is a member of the board of directors Inhibitex, Inc. and Progenitor Cell Therapy, LLC.

Amy Morris has served as Vice President of Clinical Project Management since 2006. She joined Inhibitex in 2002 as a Director of Clinical Development and the Veronate Project Leader. From 1994 to March 2002, Ms. Morris held several senior management positions at the contract research organization, Clinimetrics Research Associates, Inc., including Senior Vice President responsible for East Coast and Global Operations. From 1989 to 1994 she served as the Executive Director of the AIDS Research Consortium of Atlanta, a non-profit clinical and epidemiological research organization. From 1986 to 1989 she held clinical research positions at bio-pharmaceutical companies Triton Biosciences, Inc. and Boehringer Ingelheim, Inc. From 1982 to 1984 she served as the Clinical Coordinator for the University of California, San Francisco, Drug Studies Unit. Ms. Morris received a B.S. in Biology from St. Mary's College Notre Dame, and an MBA in Management from Georgia State University.

Jeff Hutchins, Ph.D. has served as Vice President of PreClinical Development since 2007. He served as Director of Monoclonal Antibody Development from 2001 to 2007. From 1991 through 2000 he held several Senior Scientist positions in Discovery Research at Glaxo Wellcome with a visiting professor appointment in the Department of Biochemistry at Rush Medical College. Dr. Hutchins received a B.S. in Biology from Oral Roberts University, a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Texas, Health Science Center at Houston Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and postdoctoral training from University of Southern California Department of Microbiology. Dr. Hutchins publications and patents span the fields of infectious disease, immunology, oncology and osteoarthritis.

Peter Azzarello has served as Vice President of Finance since 2007. He served as Director of Finance from 2004 to 2007. Prior to joining Inhibitex, Mr. Azzarello served as Associate VP of Financial Reporting for NetBank from 2001 to 2003. From 1994 to 2000 he held senior financial positions with several private and publicly traded companies including, Metavante, a subsidiary of Marshall & Ilsley, ProxyMed, Grand Adventures Travel, and G.L. Homes. Mr. Azzarello received a B.A. in Accounting and Finance from Florida Atlantic University and is a certified public accountant.

Mr. Michini joins Inhibitex from Akzo Nobel, Organon Pharmaceuticals where he spent the last seven years in various executive sales and marketing positions, the most recent of which was as Vice President of Marketing. In this role, Mr. Michini led a team of 120 sales and marketing professionals responsible for the strategic marketing, launch and national account sales of all Organon products in the United States. Prior to Akzo Nobel, Organon Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Michini spent 13 years with Knoll Pharmaceutical Company in several senior sales, marketing and product management roles focused largely on hospital-based products and institutional sales.

Stan Chamberlain, Ph.D. has served as Vice President of Chemistry since late 2007. Prior to coming to Inhibitex, he was Senior Group Manager in Medicinal Chemistry Oncology at Glaxo Smith Kline in Research Triangle Park, NC from 2001 to 2007, working in the area of protein kinase inhibitors. From 1995 to 2001, Dr. Chamberlain was a Group Leader in Medicinal Chemistry at Glaxo Wellcome in RTP, working in the areas of antiviral and anti-inflammatory chemotherapy. From 1986 to 1995, he held several Senior Scientist positions in the Experimental Therapy Department at Burroughs Wellcome in RTP, focusing on nucleoside agents for anti-viral and oncology applications. Dr. Chamberlain received a B.S. and a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa Chemistry Department. Dr. Chamberlain's publications and patents cover the areas of antiviral, anti-cancer and anti-inflammation chemotherapy, with a focus on protein kinase inhibitors and nucleoside derivatives.

J. Douglas Eplett, M.D. has served as a member of our board of directors since February 2002. Since September 2000, Dr. Eplett has served as a general partner of Essex Woodlands Health Ventures, a venture capital firm. From July 2000 to August 2000, he worked as a private consultant. From May 1999 to June 2000, he served as a general partner of Pacific Horizon Ventures, LLC, a venture capital firm. From August 1998 to March 1999, he served as a consultant for Vanguard Venture Partners, a venture capital firm. Dr. Eplett serves on the boards of directors of Thermage, Inc., Walnut Technologies, Inc. and St. Francis Medical Technologies, Inc., which are privately-held medical device companies. He received a B.A. from the University of Vermont, a M.D. from Tufts University and a M.B.A. from Stanford University.

Sarah E. Bates has served as in house Intellectual Property Counsel for Inhibitex since 1999. From 1988 through 1998 she served as counsel for the Blood Substitutes, Gene Therapy, Venture Technologies, Materials and Membranes and Fenwal divisions of Baxter Healthcare Corporation. From 1984 to 1988 she was an associate in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis doing primarily patent litigation. Her J.D. is from the University of San Francisco and she has a B.S. in Biology from the University of Connecticut. Ms. Bates is also a registered patent attorney.

A. Keith Willard served from 1993 to 1999 as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Zeneca, Inc., a multinational pharmaceutical company. Prior to that, he served in several capacities with ICI Canada, including President and a member of its Board of Directors. He has been retired since October 1999. He received a B.A. in Sociology from Concordia University and is a graduate of the Advanced Executive Management Institute at McGill University.

Dr. McGuigan was appointed a director on August 16, 2005 and has served as a director of FermaVir Research since March, 2005. Since 1995 , Dr. McGuigan has been Professor, Welsh School of Pharmacy, Chairman of Departmental Research Committee and Director of Research, Head of Medicinal Chemistry. He is the Chemistry Editor for Antiviral Chemistry and Chemotherapy. Professor McGuigan is on the Editorial Board Member for Journal of Medicinal Chemistry. He is currently the President-elect and Board member of the International Society for Antiviral Research.

Gabriele Cerrone has served as a director of Inhibitex since September 2007. From March 1999 to January 2005, Mr. Cerrone served as a Senior Vice President of Investments of Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., a financial services firm. Between May 2001 and May 2003, Mr. Cerrone served on the board of directors of Siga Technologies, Inc. Mr. Cerrone co-founded Xenomics, Inc., a molecular diagnostic company, and served as Co- Chairman from July 2005 until November 2006. Mr. Cerrone also co-founded FermaVir Pharmaceuticals and served as Chairman of the Board from August 2005 until September 2007. Mr. Cerrone is a co-founder of Synergy Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as well as Callisto Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and currently serves as Chairman of the Board and a consultant to both publicly-held biopharmaceutical companies. Mr. Cerrone is the managing partner of Panetta Partners, Ltd., a Colorado limited partnership, that is a private investor in both public and private venture capital in the life sciences and technology arena as well as real estate. Mr. Cerrone graduated from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business with a degree in Finance.

From August 1998 to March 1999, he served as a consultant for Vanguard Venture Partners, a venture capital firm. Dr. Eplett serves on the boards of directors of Thermage, Inc., Walnut Technologies, Inc. and St. Francis Medical Technologies, Inc., which are privately-held medical device companies. He received a B.A. from the University of Vermont, a M.D. from Tufts University and a M.B.A. from Stanford University.

M. James Barrett, Ph.D. has served as a general partner of NEA Partners 10 Limited Partnership, the general partner of New Enterprise Associates 10 Limited Partnership, a venture capital fund, since August 2001. From January 1997 to August 2001, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sensors for Medicine and Science, Inc., a medical device company, which he founded in 1997. He continues to serve as the Chairman of its Board of Directors. Dr. Barrett also serves on the Boards of Directors of two publicly-held biopharmaceutical companies: Taragacept, Inc. and YM Biosciences, Inc., and the Boards of several privatelyheld biopharmaceutical companies. Dr. Barrett received a B.S. in Chemistry from Boston College, a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Tennessee and a M.B.A. from the University of Santa Clara.

John P. Brancaccio, a retired CPA, has served as a Director of our company since April 2004. Since April 2004, Mr. Brancaccio has been the Chief Financial Officer of Accelerated Technologies, Inc., an incubator for medical device companies. From May 2002 until March 2004, Mr. Brancaccio was the Chief Financial Officer of Memory Pharmaceuticals Corp., a biotechnology company. From 2000 to 2002, Mr. Brancaccio was the Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer of Eline Group, an entertainment and media company. Mr. Brancaccio is currently a director of Alfacell Corporation as well as a director of each of Xenomics, Inc. and FermaVir Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Louis Sullivan served as U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services from 1989 to 1993. Prior to and following his service as HHS Secretary, he was President of Morehouse School of Medicine, which he now serves as President Emeritus. He is co-chair of The Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS. A graduate of Morehouse College, he earned his medical degree from Boston University, and is certified in internal medicine and hematology. The recipient of 45 honorary degrees, he served on the faculties of the medical schools at Harvard, Seton Hall, and Boston universities before arriving at Morehouse in 1975. He was also the founding president of the Association of Minority Health Professions Schools.

Dr. Medford previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of AtheroGenics, Inc., an Atlanta-based company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of novel drugs for the treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO).
