Louis Drapeau joined InSite Vision in October 2007. Prior to InSite Vision, he served as Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President, Finance, at Nektar Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company headquartered in San Carlos, California. Prior to Nektar, he served as Acting Chief Executive Officer from August 2004 to May 2005 and as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from August 2002 to August 2005 for BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. Previously, Drapeau spent 30 years at Arthur Andersen including 19 years as an Audit Partner in Arthur Andersen?s Northern California Audit and Business Consulting practice which included 12 years as Managing Partner. Drapeau received both his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and a Masters in Business Administration from Stanford University. He serves as a Director of Bio-Rad Laboratories, InterMune, Inc., BioNovo Inc. and Inflazyme Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
Dr. Hosseini joined InSite Vision in February 2008 as Vice President, Clinical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer. Prior to InSite, he most recently served as an ophthalmic expert at JGB BioPharma consulting for R&D, preclinical, clinical, and business development projects. Before joining JGB, he participated in multiple drug delivery programs and was a resident expert in the ocular drug delivery program at Alza Corporation, a member of the Johnson and Johnson Family of Companies, where he provided ophthalmology and visual science expertise for new technology assessment activities aimed at enhancing the drug/device unit pipeline. Prior to joining Alza, Dr. Hosseini spent more than six years in academic research. He is the author or co-author of more than 25 scientific papers and oral presentations and posters, and was a member of teams that applied for eight ocular and trans-dermal drug delivery patents.
Dr. Hosseini received his M.D. from the University of Groningen Faculty of Medicine, The Netherlands; and his Ph.D. as part of a joint program at the University of Texas, Medical Branch in Galveston and the University of Maastricht, The Netherlands. He was a post doctoral fellow in retinal degenerative diseases at the University of California, San Francisco.

Ronald Carlson joined us in April 2006 as Vice President, Regulatory and Quality. From 1999 to 2006, Dr. Carlson worked at XOMA LLC, a biotechnology company focused on the development of therapeutic antibodies, where he held positions of Vice President of Quality and Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs. Dr. Carlson was also Vice President of Development at Berkeley HeartLab Inc. and has held managerial positions at Bayer, Isis, Berlex, and Genentech. Dr. Carlson holds a Bachelor of Science in both Chemistry and Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Southern Illinois University.

Surendra Patel has more than 30 years of development and operational experience in various management positions at pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, including Syntex, Roche Bioscience, Oread Inc., DrugAbuse Sciences, and most recently, at Nektar Therapeutics where he served as Senior Director, Manufacturing Operations since 2002. While at Nektar he managed clinical and commercial manufacturing operations, plant maintenance, and calibration and warehouse operations that included the direction of more than 100 in-house personnel, and played a strategic role in the selection of domestic and international contract manufacturing sites.
Experience at other companies includes the development of commercial and clinical manufacturing processes and sites; management of clinical trial material supply chains for development programs; selection and technical support for contract drug development and manufacturing; management of quality assurance compliance and quality assurance operations; manufacturing and packaging technology transfer between manufacturing plants; validation; and formulation and process development. Mr. Patel has a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmaceutical formulation from De Montford University, Leicester, United Kingdom.

Anders Wiklund, President and Director. Mr. Wiklund spent 29 years with the Pharmacia group of companies in various executive positions. He served as Managing Director of KabiVitrum Ltd.in the UK from 1973-76 and from 1976-1984 he was President of KabiVitrum International based in Sweden. From 1984-1993 he served as President and CEO of KabiVitrum Inc. and KabiPharmacia Inc. in the US. From 1993-96 he served as President for Pharmacia Development Corp. Executive Vice President of Pharmacia US Inc. and as Vice President of Pharmacia Upjohn. He founded Wiklund International Inc. in 1977, an advisory firm to the Biotechnology Industry. As an advisor Mr. Wiklund has worked with companies in the US, Canada, Japan and Scandinavia. He was also a cofounder of Esperion Inc. Presently Mr. Wiklund serves on the Boards of InSiteVision Inc., QuatRx Inc., Acureon Inc. and Gyros AB. Mr. Wiklund has a Master of Pharmacy degree from Stockholm, Sweden, where he also studied business.

Mr. Anderson was formerly Company Group Chairman, Johnson & Johnson, and Worldwide Franchise Chairman, Cordis Corporation. Mr. Anderson also served as Worldwide President, Cordis Cardiology and Vice President, Immunology Franchise, at Centocor, Inc., which merged with Johnson & Johnson in 1999. Mr. Anderson was a key architect behind the launch of the world's first drug-eluting stent the CYPHER Sirolimus-eluting Coronary Stent. This breakthrough innovation for the treatment of restenosis (reblockage) has been used to treat more than three million patients worldwide. Before joining Johnson & Johnson, Mr. Anderson served in senior leadership positions with other international health care and medical device companies. At Racal HealthCare, Inc., he was Vice President, Global Marketing and responsible for respiratory devices and before that, he spent a decade with Boehringer Mannheim Pharmaceuticals and Allergan Pharmaceuticals in various U.S. and global sales, sales management and marketing management roles. Mr. Anderson is also a consultant member of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions and has worked within the industry to shape global education of interventional specialties. Mr. Anderson holds a B.B.A. in Marketing from Mississippi State University and has completed graduate level course work at Indiana University and Duke University. He served five years in the United States Army where he obtained the rank of captain.
