Robert P. Hartwig is president of the Insurance Information Institute. Since joining the I.I.I. in 1998 as an economist and becoming chief economist in 1999, Dr. Hartwig has focused his work on improving understanding of key insurance issues across all industry stakeholders including media, consumers, insurers, producers, regulators, legislators and investors. Presently, the I.I.I. provides assistance on thousands of stories annually and covers all aspects of print, television, radio and new media while also responding to thousands of requests from I.I.I. member companies and other constituencies. Dr. Hartwig previously served as director of economic research and senior economist with the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) in Boca Raton, Florida, where he performed rate of return and cost of capital modeling and testified at workers’ compensation rate hearings in many states. He has also worked as senior economist for the Swiss Reinsurance Group in New York and as senior statistician for the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission in Washington, D.C. He is a member of the American Economic Association, the American Risk and Insurance Association, the National Association of Business Economics and the CPCU Society and from May 2005 to May 2008 served on the board of directors of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers Association of New York. In 2005 and 2006 Dr. Hartwig served on the state of Florida’s Task Force for Long-Term Homeowners Insurance Solutions. Dr. Hartwig received his Ph.D. and Master of Science degrees in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics cum laude from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He has served as an instructor at the University of Illinois and at Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Hartwig also holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) credential. Dr. Hartwig has authored and co-authored papers that have appeared in numerous publications, including the Journal of Health Economics, the Proceedings of the Casualty Actuarial Society, the John Liner Review (where he also serves on the editorial board), Dossiers et Etudes (Geneva Association), the Journal of Workers’ Compensation, Global Reinsurance, Risk & Insurance, Insurance Day, Compensation and Benefits Review. He is also a regular contributor to National Underwriter and many other industry trade publications. Dr. Hartwig makes frequent presentations to industry associations, company management, industry executives, analysts and clients and speaks internationally on a wide range of insurance issues. He has testified before numerous state and federal regulatory and legislative bodies, including the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance and Government Sponsored Enterprises and the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. Dr. Hartwig serves as a media spokesperson for the property/casualty insurance industry, and is quoted frequently in leading publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Financial Times, BusinessWeek, Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, CFO, Fortune, Forbes, The Economist and many others throughout the world. Dr. Hartwig also appears regularly on television, including programs on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, CNBC, Fox, PBS and the BBC.

Carolyn Gorman is vice president of the Insurance Information Institute?s Washington, D.C. media office. Ms. Gorman joined the Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.) in 1993 and was instrumental in reorganizing its Washington office to focus on media relations. In addition to managing the office?s staff, she represents the I.I.I. to local and national media, with a particular emphasis on radio and television. Gregory E. Murphy has served as chairman, president and chief executive officer of Selective Insurance Group, Inc. since May 2000. He has been with Selective in various positions since joining the company in 1980. Mr. Murphy has played an integral role in Selective’s growth as a super-regional property and casualty (P&C) carrier. The company is currently ranked as the 47th largest P&C carrier in the US, and recognized for the superior service it provides to independent agents and customers. Selective’s dedicated employees are at the heart of the company’s “high-tech, high-touch” business model that powerfully combines a unique field-based model with leading-edge agency automation technology. A graduate of Boston College, Mr. Murphy holds the CPA designation and completed both the Harvard Advanced Management Program and the M.I.T. Sloan School of Management. Mr. Robinson joined Utica National in 1983 as Director of Agency Services. He was named Assistant Secretary in 1984 and appointed Director of Cash Management later that year. He was named Regional Marketing Manager in the company's Eastern Regional Office in 1985 and promoted to Vice President and General Manager of Utica's Risk Management Corporation in 1986. The following year, he was promoted to Vice President and Director of Commercial Lines Sales. In 1988, he was promoted to Vice President and Senior Marketing Officer and later that year was named Senior Vice President. In 1993 he was promoted to Executive Vice President. In 1995 he was named President of UticaLIFE, and in 1996 he was promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer of Utica Mutual. In 2000 Mr. Robinson was named Chief Executive Officer of Utica Mutual and in 2006 he was elected Chairman of the Board. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Syracuse University and a master's degree in management science from the State University of New York. He has earned the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation and has completed the American Institute and Wharton School's Advance Executive Education Program. Prior to joining Utica National, he was an independent insurance agent. Mr. Robinson is a member of the boards of directors of all Utica National member companies and subsidiaries. He also serves on the boards of the Insurance Information Institute, the Property Loss Research Bureau, Mohawk Valley EDGE, and the SUNY IT College Council. He has previously served on the boards of Utica College, the Central New York Community Arts Council, the Utica Rescue Mission and the United Way. He received the Outstanding Alumni Achievement award in 2006 from the State University of New York Institute of Technology, their highest alumni honor, and has been recognized on prior occasions by SUNY as an alumnus and for his work as a business and community leader. In 1997 he received the SUNY Alumni Honor Roll award, and that same year he received the Institute of Technology Alumni Association's Distinguished Service award. Mr. Robinson enjoys golf, guitar and motorcycles. He and his wife, Patti, have two sons and live in New Hartford, New York.

William J. Mullaney is president of MetLife’s Institutional Business division, which provides benefit solutions to more than 60,000 group customers in the United States, including over 90 of the top one hundred FORTUNE 500® companies. Through these relationships, MetLife products and services reach nearly 40 million employees. Today, MetLife is a leading provider of many group insurance and retirement & savings offerings, including group life, group dental and institutional annuities. After Mullaney was promoted to head Institutional Business in January 2007, the business achieved its best top- and bottom-line results that year. Previously, Mullaney served as the president of MetLife Auto & Home, MetLife’s $3 billion personal lines property & casualty subsidiary that insures nearly 4 million autos and homes nationwide. Under Mullaney’s leadership, Auto & Home delivered record operating earnings despite some of the worst hurricanes in U.S. history. At the same time, the company distinguished itself for its quick and compassionate response to customers affected by these natural disasters. From 2002 through 2004, Mullaney served as senior vice president for claims and customer service at Auto & Home, where he oversaw claims, business operations and services, and customer retention initiatives as well as the project management office. From 1998 to 2002, Mullaney was responsible for MetLife’s voluntary benefits business. In this role, he was responsible for creating and managing the sales, marketing and service platform for MetLife’s employee paid workplace products, including group life, group auto & home and group long-term care insurance, as well as products offered by MetLife’s Hyatt Legal subsidiary. During the four years he oversaw the business, revenue increased by 50 percent. He was promoted to vice president in 1990 and joined MetLife in 1982. Mullaney currently serves as the chairman of the New York Blood Center’s Volunteer Leadership Campaign and is a member of the board of directors for the Employee Benefit Research Institute, MetLife Auto & Home, MetLife Bank and MetLife Foundation. In 2007 and 2008, Mullaney was named to Irish America Magazine’s “Business 100,” recognizing the top 100 Irish-American business leaders in the United States. He received a B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh, his M.B.A. from Pace University and a chartered life underwriter designation from The American College.
