From its inception in 1985 through 1999, the Company operated, under the name Procept, Inc., as a biotechnology company engaged in the development and commercialization of novel drugs with a product portfolio focused on infectious diseases and oncology. During 1999, the Company?s principal efforts were devoted to drug development and human clinical trials focusing on two biotechnology compounds, PRO 2000 Gel and O6-Benzylguanine (?O6-BG?). During fiscal 2000, the Company closed its research facilities and out-licensed PRO 2000 Gel and O6-BG, which had been under development by the Company for several years.
