Arthur Kelly has been a managing partner of KEL Enterprises, L.P., a private entity investment partnership, since 1982. Previously he had been with LaSalle Steel Company from 1975-1981, serving on its board and successively holding positions as the company's vice president, executive vice president, president, and C.O.O. Prior to joining LaSalle Steel Company, he had been with A.T. Kearney, Inc., an international management consultant, for 16 years. Kelly holds a bachelor's degree from Yale University, and a master's of business administration from the University of Chicago. He serves on the boards of directors of Bayerische Motoren Werke (BMW) A.G., BASF Aktiengesellschaft, Dalta Corporation, DataCard Corporation, Northern Trust Corporation, Robert Bosch Corporation, and Snap-on Incorporated. He also is a member of several boards for committees and foundations associated with the University of Chicago. Deere & Company (NYSE:DE) is the world's leading manufacturer of agricultural and forestry equipment, a major manufacturer of construction equipment, and a leading supplier of equipment used in lawn, grounds and turf care. John Deere also manufactures and markets engines used in heavy equipment and provides landscape and worldwide financial services. Since it was founded in 1837, the company has extended its heritage of integrity, quality, commitment and innovation around the globe.

James Tyree is senior vice president, Pharmaceutical Operations Tyree first joined Abbott from 1978 until 1979 as a business analyst for a year. He rejoined the company in June 1997 and has been in various management positions including divisional vice president and general manager for Abbott's international division in Japan. He recently served as vice president, global licensing/new business development in the Pharmaceutical Products Division. He assumed his current role in 2006. Prior to re-joining Abbott in 1997, Tyree was president of Sugen Inc., a biotechnology start-up company and held various leadership positions at other pharmaceutical companies. He serves on the board of directors for TAP Pharmaceuticals, a joint venture between Abbott and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited. He is a member of the advisory boards of the Polsky Center of Entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago and the Kellogg Center for Biotechnology at Northwestern University. He is a member of Richard M. Daley's Chicago Mayor's Council of Technology Advisors. Formerly chairman, he is also chairman of the board of directors of the Illinois Biotechnology Industry Organization. He earned bachelor's degrees in psychology and forensic studies and a master's degree in business administration from Indiana University.
Richard P. Strubel is Vice Chairman of Cardean Learning Group, and previously served as the company's President and Chief Operating Officer. Before joining Cardean, Mr. Strubel served as president and CEO of Microdot Inc., a manufacturing corporation with sales of $400 million and as president of Northwest Industries, then a New York Stock Exchange company with sales in excess of $3 billion. Mr. Strubel is a trustee of all the institutional and retail mutual funds managed by Goldman, Sachs & Co., as well as the retail and institutional funds of The Northern Trust Company. He is a director of other companies, including Gildan Activewear Inc. He is a member of the board of trustees of the University of Chicago. Mr. Strubel was educated at Williams College and Harvard Business School.
Rajat K. Gupta has been Senior Partner of McKinsey & Company since 2003. He previously served as McKinsey & Company's Worldwide Managing Director from 1994 until 2003. Prior to then, Mr. Gupta held a variety of positions at McKinsey & Company since 1973. Mr. Gupta also currently serves as the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Advisor on UN management reform. Mr. Gupta has been a director of Goldman Sachs since November 2006. He is on the boards of the following public companies in addition to Goldman Sachs: Procter & Gamble and Genpact LTD. Abbie J. Smith, 54, is the Boris and Irene Stern Professor of Accounting at the Graduate School of Business of the University of Chicago. She joined their faculty in 1980 upon completion of her Ph.D. at Cornell University. The primary focus of her research is corporate restructuring, transparency, and corporate governance. Professor Smith is a co-editor of the Journal of Accounting Research. Ms. Smith was elected to the Board of Directors in July 2003 and is the Chair of the Audit Committee and a member of the Finance Committee. Ms. Smith serves on the Boards of Directors of HNI Corporation, DFA Investment Dimensions Group Inc. and Dimensional Investment Group Inc. E. Follin Smith, 48, served as the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer of Constellation Energy Group, Inc., the nation's largest competitive supplier of electricity to large commercial and industrial customers and the nation's largest wholesale power seller, until May 2007. Ms. Smith joined Constellation Energy Group as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer in June 2001 and was appointed Chief Administrative Officer in December 2003. Before joining Constellation Energy Group, Ms. Smith was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Armstrong Holdings, Inc., the global leader in hard-surface flooring and ceilings. Ms. Smith began her career with Armstrong in 1998 as Vice President and Treasurer and was promoted to her last position in March 2000. Prior to joining Armstrong, Ms. Smith held various senior financial positions with General Motors including Chief Financial Officer for General Motors' Delphi Chassis Systems division. Ms. Smith was elected to the Board of Directors in July 2005 and is a member of the Audit Committee and the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee. Ms. Smith serves on the Board of Directors of Discover Financial Services, the Board of Trustees of the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business, the Board of Visitors of Davidson College and the Board of CENTERSTAGE, in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Hector R. Cordero-Guzman is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Black and Hispanic Studies Department at Baruch College of the City University of New York and a member of the faculty in the Ph.D. Programs in Sociology and Urban Education at the CUNY Graduate Center. Currently, Dr. Cordero-Guzman is completing a report on organizations that work on Day Labor issues; preparing a book manuscript analyzing the role of community based organizations (CBOs) in the social, political, and economic adaptation and incorporation of immigrants and in maintaining ties between immigrant communities and countries of origin; a project examining transnational community economic development practices, a paper on the economics of micro-lending; and a study of self-employment patterns and trends in the Latino community. Dr. Cordero-Guzman received his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from The University of Chicago and is on the Board of Directors of ACCION-New York, the Community Service Society of New York (CSS), and the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (UMEZ).

C.A. Lance Piccolo has been a member of NovaMed's Board of Directors since 2000. Mr. Piccolo was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Caremark International, Inc. from 1992 through 1996, following its spin-off from Baxter International, Inc. Mr. Piccolo continues to serve as Vice Chairman of Caremark Rx, Inc. (NYSE: CMX), a leading prescription benefits management firm. Over Mr. Piccolo's distinguished 25-year career at Baxter, he progressed through a series of sales, operating and executive positions, including Executive Vice President for over five years. He was responsible for Baxter's alternate site operations and oversaw its development into one of the industry leaders. He was also a member of Baxter's Board of Directors from 1988 through 1992. Donald Pogorzelski joined Genzyme in 1988. He is responsible for managing all aspects of the worldwide diagnostics business unit, including Genzyme Virotech in Russelsheim, Germany, the rapid test products in San Diego, California, and facilities in Kent, United Kingdom, and Cambridge, Massachusetts. Mr. Pogorzelski’s initial responsibility at Genzyme was sales and marketing for raw materials for the domestic clinical chemistry market. Prior to joining Genzyme, he held positions in human resources, finance, and sales and marketing at Abbott Laboratories. Mr. Pogorzelski has an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.S. from Loyola University of Chicago.
Michael W. Vannier, M.D. has been a Director of the Company since December 1997. Dr. Vannier has been a Professor of Radiology at the University of Chicago since May 2004. He was the Head of the Department of Radiology at the University of Iowa from June 1996 to November 2000, and professor of radiology there from 1996 until April 2004. Dr. Vannier was a special assistant to the Director of the National Cancer Institute from 2001 to 2003.

Mr. Winkelried has been our President and Co-Chief Operating Officer and a director since June 2006. Previously, he had been the co-head of Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division since January 2005. From 2000 to 2005, he was co-head of FICC. From 1999 to 2000, he was head of FICC in Europe. From 1995 to 1999, he was responsible for Goldman Sachs’ leveraged finance business. Mr. Winkelried is not on the board of any public company other than Goldman Sachs. He is also a trustee of the University of Chicago.
Robert Halperin has been a Board of Directors member of AtHoc since the company s inception in 1999. Bob was Vice Chairman of Raychem Corporation, a materials science company, from 1990 to 1994, and previous to that served as its President. He spent 37 years at Raychem. Bob has been an advisor to Greylock Management, a venture capital firm, since 1990. He is currently a member of the board of Vitria Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: VITR), a leading provider of eBusiness infrastructure software, Avid Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: AVID) as well as several private companies. Bob serves on the Board of Directors of the Associates of Harvard Business School, the Harvard Business School Publishing Co., Stanford Health Services, and is also a Life Trustee of the University of Chicago. Gunnar Carlsson is Professor of Mathematics at Stanford University. He has served as Chair of the Stanford Mathematics Department, and has been on the faculty of the University of Chicago, University of California (San Diego), and Princeton University.
George provides senior pricing leadership on consulting engagements and is a faculty member of SPG's education services. With over 28 years of industry experience, he has held senior business, sales, and marketing positions at DuPont, Monsanto, and Union Carbide. A frequent speaker and writer on pricing strategy, George is also a regular lecturer at executive education programs at University of Minnesota, University of Chicago, and Columbia University. His insights and articles have appeared in leading publications such as The Economist, Marketing Management Magazine, Journal of Pricing Management, and the Chemical Marketing Review. George is a member of the Advisory Board for the Institute for the Study of Business Markets and a Visiting Scholar at the University of Virginia. He holds an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering, an M.B.A., and has done doctoral work in marketing.
Manish Sood is a successful entrepreneur in the IT industry with over 12 years of experience in software development, finance and accounting. As Founder and CEO, he led a team of 20 people to win the Houston 100 award in 2001, an award recognizing the top 100 fastest growing companies in Greater Houston. Prior to founding Salient, he held IT consulting engagements at Merrill Lynch, Alliance Capital and Merck & Co. He is the President of the University of Chicago GSB Alumni Club of Houston, and serves on the Board of the MBA Council of Houston. Attorney Lapera is a founding partner of McKinnis & Lapera,LLC. and head of its corporate and financial law practice. He was trained at the New York City firm of Mudge, Rose, Guthrie & Alexander. He has more than 20 years experience in sophisticated corporate, finance and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, debt and equity financing, reorganizations, real estate and construction, contracts and license agreements, joint ventures, partnerships and limited liability companies, securities offerings, corporate and public finance, and start up entity formation and financing. With an MBA from the University of Chicago as well as a law degree from Syracuse University College of Law (cum laude), Mr. Lapera has been a business advisor as well as a lawyer, served as inhouse General Counsel and chief Legal Officer of a substantial corporation, and has been engaged in his own private legal practice since 1993. He is admitted to the bar of New York as well as Connecticut.
Eric has over twenty years of experience in information systems management. He has served as the Vice President and Chief Information Officer of the University of Chicago Hospital and Health System since 2001. Charles Wheelan is a lecturer in public policy at the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago. He teaches several master's level courses on understanding the policy process, and was voted Professor of the Year in a Non-Core Course by the Harris School student body for the 2004-'05 academic year. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Chicago, Wheelan was Director of Policy and Communications for Chicago Metropolis 2020, a business-backed civic group promoting healthy regional growth in the Chicago area. From 1997 to 2002, he was the Midwest correspondent for The Economist, where his story on America's burgeoning ex-convict population was the August 10, 2002, cover story. He has also written for the Chicago Tribune, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal. Wheelan's first book, "Naked Economics: Undressing the Dismal Science," was published by W.W. Norton & Company in 2002. An accessible and entertaining introduction to economics for lay readers, it was released in paperback in September 2003 and has been published in seven languages. He's also the author of a series of essays on Chicago that accompany the photographs of renowned landscape photographer Terry Evans in the book "Revealing Chicago: An Aerial Portrait." He's currently working on a public policy textbook. Wheelan is also a regular contributor to the "Motley Fool Radio Show" on National Public Radio and to the "Eight Forty-Eight" program on WBEZ, Chicago Public Radio. Janice Phillips, PhD, RN, FAAN, Chicago, Illinois, currently serves as nurse researcher at the University of Chicago where she oversees development and implementation of a variety of nursing research activities. Prior to her employment at the University of Chicago, Dr. Phillips served as program director at the National Institute of Nursing Research where she managed health promotion and risk reduction. Dr. Phillips was instrumental in developing and implementing a number of health disparity initiatives while at NINR. Her professional career includes experience as staff nurse and assistant clinical manager at a large medical center, coordinator of clinical services at a community-based ambulatory care center, clinical nurse consultant providing breast and cervical cancer screening for low-income African American women, and consultant on several private and federally funded breast cancer grants. In 1995, Dr. Phillips was awarded an American Cancer Society Professorship in Oncology Nursing. Dr. Phillips is the first African American and one of the youngest faculty members in the country to receive this prestigious award. In 2002, Dr. Phillips was inducted into the American Academy of Nursing for her contributions to oncology nursing. She received the 2003 Oncology Nursing Society/Susan G. Komen Excellence in Breast Cancer Education Award.
John coordinates the Adult Education and Spiritual Formation Committee, teaches several classes throughout the year, runs the Disciples confirmation program for high school freshmen, and leads worship on Sunday mornings. He joined the staff in the fall of 2000 as an intern and now serves as Pastoral Associate while he completes a PhD in Biblical Studies at the University of Chicago Divinity School. John received a BA from Rice University with a double major in Religious Studies and Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations, spending his junior year abroad at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He received a MDiv from the University of Chicago Divinity School in 2003 and is currently seeking ordination through the Presbytery of Chicago.
Katie Merrell is a Senior Research Scientist in the Health Policy and Evaluation Department at NORC at the University of Chicago. Over the past twenty years, Ms. Merrell has been involved in a broad array of health services research projects. She has been actively involved in evaluation of community-based initiatives to improve local health systems and access, previously as a principal investigator on two Healthy Start evaluation projects and currently as part of NORC's national evaluation of the Healthy Communities Access Project (HCAP). In addition, she is a nationally recognized expert in Medicare payment policy development and evaluation.

Dr. Michael F. Roizen is a 53-year old internist and anesthesiologist who lives his Age Reduction plan and has a RealAge of 38. Paul Sally is a professor of mathematics at the University of Chicago, where he has taught since 1965. He served as chairman of the Department of Mathematics from 1977 to 1980, and he has produced 18 Ph.D. students in his area of research, harmonic analysis on semisimple groups over real and p-adic fields. Dr. Sally began his involvement in the Chicago Public Schools in 1969 by running a mathematics competition and conducting classes for both students and teachers. In 1983, he was appointed as the first director of the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project (UCSMP). He served in this position until 1987, at which point he became primarily involved in the staff development activities of UCSMP. In 1992, Dr. Sally founded Seminars for Elementary Specialists and Mathematics Educators (SESAME), a staff development program for elementary school teachers in Chicago public schools. Since the program's inception, more than 600 teachers from 125 schools have participated in SESAME. In another enterprise begun in 1988, Dr. Sally has directed the University of Chicago Young Scholars Program for mathematically talented 7-12 grade students. Among other professional activities, Dr. Sally has been a member of the U.S. Steering Committee for the Third International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) since 1991, and has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the American Mathematical Society. His awards include the Quantrell Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching (1966), the AMOCO Award for a Distinguished Career in Undergraduate Teaching (1995), the Boston College Alumni Award for Excellence in Education (1999), and the American Mathematical Society Award for Distinguished Public Service (2000). Dr. Sally holds a B.S. and M.A. from Boston College and a Ph.D. from Brandeis University.
