Mr. Shinagawa came to New York City in May of 2007 to assume responsibility for all of Sumitomo's activities in the Americas when he was appointed President and CEO of Sumitomo Corporation of America, and General Manager for the Americas. He joined Sumitomo Corporation upon graduation from Keio University in 1971. Mr. Shinagawa has spent his entire career gaining extensive experience in Sumitomo's Mineral Resources and Energy Business activities in Tokyo and London. While in London, he managed Sumitomo U.K.'s Petroleum and Carbon business. Mr. Shinagawa and his wife, Hiromi, have three grown children and live in Manhattan. He enjoys golf, films, musical theatre and leisure travel with his family.
