ION Media Networks, Inc. is a network television broadcasting company which owns and operates the largest broadcast television station group in the U.S., as measured by the number of television households ION's stations serve. The Company owns and/or operates 60 full-power broadcast television stations, including stations in each of the top 20 U.S. markets and 39 of the top 50 markets. ION is moving television forward in three dimensions: broadcasting, multicasting and datacasting. Completed digital broadcast facility upgrades allow ION to provide a broadband platform using enhanced digital terrestrial spectrum capacity. In addition to delivering the main television network, this capacity can be used to multicast multiple, new, over-the-air digital networks, as well as to datacast non-television content or information.
