Chairman of the Board, CEO and Co-Founder Colin Angle guides the strategic direction of iRobot. Angle’s leadership and vision for the future of robots have been recognized with numerous professional awards. He has been named a Mass High Tech All-Star, one of Fortune Small Business Magazine’s Best Bosses and New England Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young with iRobot co-founder Helen Greiner. Angle sits on the board of directors of Axon Labs, Inc. and is active on the Robotics & Intelligent Machines (RIM) advisory board. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in computer science, both from MIT.

Jeff Beck brings more than 20 years of high-technology leadership to iRobot. As president and general manager of Home Robots, he is responsible for all aspects of the division's global strategy, product development and operations. Prior to joining iRobot, Beck served as senior vice president and general manager of the aerospace and defense division of AMETEK, Inc. He has also held senior management positions at Danaher Corporation and Emerson Electric Corporation. Earlier in his career, Beck was a mechanical design engineer at Sargent & Lundy Consulting Engineers. He holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the N.J. Institute of Technology and a master's degree in business administration from Boston University.

Joe Dyer leads the Government and Industrial Robots Division. He comes to iRobot from a career in the U.S. Navy. Dyer last served as the commander of the Naval Air Systems Command, where he was responsible for research, development, test and evaluation, engineering and logistics for naval aircraft, air launched weapons and sensors. His naval career also included positions as naval aviation's chief engineer, commander of the Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division and F/A-18 program manager. Earlier in his career, he served as the Navy's chief test pilot. Dyer holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from North Carolina State University and a master’s degree in finance from the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, California. He is an elected fellow in the Society of Experimental Test Pilots and the National Academy of Public Administration. Dyer chairs NASA's Aerospace Safety Advisory Panel.

Geoff Clear brings close to 30 years of financial experience in the high technology market. He was instrumental in the building and growth of several successful companies. After working in public accounting for three years and in the chemical industry for 10, Clear joined the management team of a biotechnology company in 1986, helping to lead that company through product development efforts for five years. In 1992, he became Chief Financial Officer for MicroTouch Systems, a position he held for nearly a decade - a period when the company's annual revenue grew from $20 million to $150 million. In 2001, MicroTouch was sold to 3M Company, and during the last year Clear served as site manager and Integration manager for 3M Touch Systems. Clear holds both a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in business administration from Dartmouth College.

Jay Leader brings nearly 25 years of international IT management experience to iRobot. His expertise includes extensive IT management, strategic planning and financial management, and infrastructure and security management. Prior to joining iRobot, Leader was CIO at Nypro Inc., a $1.2 billion injection molding and contract manufacturing firm with 66 locations in 18 countries. He was responsible for worldwide IT operations, managing support and development organizations in the U.S., Latin America, Europe and China. Earlier in his career, Leader served in IT management positions at Coopers & Lybrand LLP, Groundwater Technology Inc. and Data General Corporation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in government and international relations and a master’s degree in business administration, both from Clark University.

Dr. Rodney Brooks chairs iRobot’s Technical Advisory Board. A robotics entrepreneur, he is founder, chairman and CTO of Heartland Robotics and the panasonic professor of robotics at MIT. Dr. Brooks is also former director of the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab. Prior to joining the faculty of MIT in 1984, he held research positions at Carnegie Mellon University and MIT, and a faculty position at Stanford University. Dr. Brooks has published many papers about computer vision, artificial intelligence, robotics and artificial life. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a founding fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), a fellow of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences (AAAS), a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), a corresponding member of the Australian Academy of Science and a foreign fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering. Dr. Brooks received degrees in pure mathematics from the Flinders University of South Australia and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University.

Gerald C. Kent, Jr. has served as the Company s vice president and controller since July 2005. Prior to joining iRobot, Mr. Kent held positions of increasing responsibility, including chief accounting officer and controller, at ScanSoft, Inc., a software company, from April 2000 until July 2005. Prior to that Mr. Kent was an audit manager in the high technology practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP from November 1998 until April 2000. Mr. Kent holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Merrimack College.

Penny Outlaw oversees the provision of all human resources services at iRobot. She brings 20 years of related human resources experience to her position. Prior to joining iRobot, Outlaw held senior human resources positions at Harvard University, Staples, Wang Laboratories, First National Bank of Boston and the Massachusetts Department of Employment and Training. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University.

Peter Meekin joined Trident Capital as a Managing Director in 1999. He has more than 20 years of experience in software, information services, and technology consulting. Prior to joining Trident Capital, Meekin was Vice President of Venture Development at Enterprise Associates, LLC, the venture capital division of IMS Health. He has also held senior technology and management positions with Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, Lotus Development Corporation and IBM. Current board-level service includes: Director-Arxan Technologies, Inc., Circles, Inc., Cymfony, Inc., Sygate Technologies, Thor Technologies, Inc. Past directorships: Berkeley Enterprise Partners, Inc., Customer Analytics, Inc., ELetter, Inc., ESS Software, Inc., MainControl, Inc.

Helen Greiner is the Chairman and CoFounder of iRobot Corporation, a company that she co-founded in 1990. iRobot is currently the leader in the mobile robotics field, an emerging high growth industry. Aggressively pursuing both the consumer and the military market for robots, our products include the Roomba Robotic Floorvac, an autonomous vacuum, and the PackBot tactical mobile robot, a military robot. Ms Greiner attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she majored in Mechanical Engineering with concentrations in Economics and Electrical Engineering. Her Masters in Computer Science was performed in the MIT Artifical Intelligence Lab under Dr. Ken Salisbury. She worked at NASAs Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a student building gripper systems for space satelites. In 1989, after graduation she founded a company commercializing JPL Technology called California Cybernetics. This company sold force controllers and performed government sponsored research in robotics. In 1990, Ms Greiner saw this technology as the basis for a whole new class of products - ones that improve life by taking on dangerous and tedious jobs. She moved back to the East Coast to start iRobot (then called IS Robotics) with two like minded business partners, MIT classmate Colin Angle and Prof. Roney Brook (Dr. Brooks is now the director of the Computer Science Labs at MIT). iRobot is now the industry leader in robotics dedicated to creating realistic robotic solutions to real world problems. Under her leadership, iRobot has grown from a garage venture to over $50M with 4 locations in MA, DC, CA, and HK. Ms Greiner raised $28M in venture capital to support growth. Ms Greiner took the military side of the business from zero, to running DARPA contracts, to participating in the Future Combat Systems program - the largest army procurement program ever funded. In the consumer space, iRobot's Roomba Robotic Floorvac is the best selling robot ever with over one million units in homes around the world.

George McNamee has served as a director since August 1999. He is managing partner of FA Technology Ventures, an information and energy technology venture capital firm. McNamee also serves as chairman of Plug Power Inc. (NASDAQ: PLUG), a leading fuel cell developer, and is a director of Broadpoint Securities (NASDAQ: BPSG) and several private companies. He is a trustee of The Albany Academies and the American Friends of Eton College. McNamee holds a B.A. from Yale University.

Jimmy Lu, Managing Director of Acer Technology Ventures, is actively involved with ATV's portfolio companies and their management in his role as a director or advisory board member to a number of corporations across ATV's different investment areas. Jimmy continues to seek out and develop promising investment opportunities for ATV in companies that leverage unique hardware and software technologies offering demonstrable cost savings and enhanced profits to business customers. Jimmy also sees the continued growth and maturation of the Internet economy and enabling technologies that support it as an ongoing opportunity for venture capitalists and entrepreneurs to exploit current market conditions to create outstanding teams and highly profitable and sustainable market-leading businesses. Jimmy's recent areas of investment activity and interests include focused enterprise software, network security and infrastructure, artificial intelligence and human interface technologies. Since 1992 and most recently as General Counsel of the Acer Group, Jimmy has taken a leading role in the Acer organization's international M&A, joint venture and other strategic alliance transactions. Prior to joining Acer, Jimmy was associated with J.P. Morgan in New York, where he held direct line responsibility for managing banking and corporate finance services for a broad range of Fortune 500 and middle market clients, and then McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen in San Francisco, where he specialized in M&A, corporate and securities matters and represented emerging growth technology companies. Jimmy received his B.A. from Yale College in 1977, his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1981 and his J.D. from the University of California/Berkeley (Boalt Hall) in 1986. He has authored many business and legal articles and has been a speaker at numerous conferences sponsored by international and local professional organizations and associations.

In November 2004, General Paul Kern concluded his more than 40-year career in the United States Army when he retired as Commanding General, Army Materiel Command (AMC). In that capacity, and earlier as Commander of the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized), General Kern left his impact on the Army's future as he led a drive to digitize and transform its warfighting capabilities. With a staff of over 50,000 civilians and active military members, he won wide respect for his efforts to direct supply chain improvements, maintain field readiness, and modernize weapons systems throughout the Army while still controlling costs. Some of his efforts included consolidating major munitions production operations, employing radio frequency identification, and managing the supply of rebuilt equipment for the front lines, a shift critical to our ongoing operations in Iraq. In June 2004, General Kern undertook a vastly different responsibility when Secretary Rumsfeld tapped him to lead the military's internal investigation into the abuses at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, a tough assignment that he handled with skill. Prior to his command at AMC, he served as the military deputy to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology and was the senior military advisor to the Army Acquisition Executive and the Army Chief of Staff on all research, development, and acquisition programs and related issues. He supervised the Program Executive Officer system, and served as the director of the Army Acquisition Corps.
