Vicente Anido, Jr., Ph.D.has served as our President and Chief Executive Officer and on our Board of Directors since December 2001. From June 2000 to September 2001, Dr. Anido was general partner for Windamere Venture Partners. From 1996 to 1999, Dr. Anido served as President and Chief Executive Officer of CombiChem, Inc., a biotechnology company. From 1993 to 1996, he served as President of the Americas Region of Allergan, a specialty pharmaceutical company focusing on ophthalmology, dermatology and neuromuscular indications. Dr. Anido is also a director of Apria Healthcare, Inc. Dr. Anido received a Ph.D. in Pharmacy Administration from the University of Missouri.

During Ms. Silvernail's 20 years of forming, financing and managing growth businesses, she has served as part of founding management teams in financial and other roles, raised capital for emerging companies, and spearheaded pharmaceutical acquisitions and life science product launches. At ISTA, Ms. Silvernail continues to combine her prior corporate and entrepreneurial finance experience with corporate development, being responsible for finance, investor relations and business development.

Ms. McGinley has over 25 years experience as a senior Human Resources executive in biotech, pharmaceutical, high tech, and manufacturing organizations. She specializes in rapid scale up of staff and infrastructure in small companies. At ISTA, she is responsible for organizational development, staffing, retention, compensation and benefits as well as facilities and information technology.

Mr. McMullin joined ISTA with 24 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, having managed the scale-up and market launch of new products and worked with technologies including ophthalmic solutions, biologics, medical devices, tablets and injectable products. As head of operations at ISTA, Mr. McMullin is responsible for product scale-up, manufacturing validation and quality control at key vendor facilities, management of the manufacturing aspects of the supply chain for clinical and commercial product, and evaluation of the manufacturing aspects of new development opportunities.

As ISTA's vice president of regulatory affairs, quality and compliance, Mr. Garrett works directly with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as well as regulatory authorities of various foreign ministries of health to steer ISTA's products along the path to commercialization. In this role, Mr. Garrett oversees all of ISTA's regulatory activities, and assures adequate compliance and product quality as it pertains to the company's pre-clinical and clinical research, and manufacturing practices. Mr. Garrett has more than 25 years of professional experience in the field of regulatory affairs, clinical development and quality.

Mr. Mitro has brought to ISTA more than 22 years' experience in the life sciences industry, with a focus on business development, product acquisitions, and sales and marketing in the branded ophthalmic physician and managed care marketplaces. In his role as ISTA's Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Mr. Mitro is responsible for product strategy and market forecasts and management of the Company's sales and marketing department.

Dr. McNamara has over 17 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical / Biotechnology industry with increasing levels of responsibility in Medical Affairs at Bristol – Myers Squibb, Searle, and Amgen. He also served as CEO of PRN Inc, a contract research organization. Prior to industry, he spent 8 years in academia including appointments as Associate Professor at the St Louis College of Pharmacy and Sanford University, and Clinical Pharmacist for the Program on Aging at Jewish Hospital and Washington University, School of Medicine, St. Louis. Dr. McNamara joined ISTA as Director, Medical Affairs in November 2004.

Richard C. Williams, Chairman of the Board, has served on our Board of Directors since December 2002 and as Chairman of our Board of Directors since July 2004. Since 1989, Mr. Williams has served as the founder and President of Conner-Thoele Limited, a consulting and financial advisory firm specializing in the healthcare industry and pharmaceutical segment. From 2000 to April 2001, Mr. Williams also served as Vice Chairman-Strategic Planning and director of King Pharmaceuticals, Inc. From 1992 to 2000, Mr. Williams served as Chairman and director of Medco Research, a cardiovascular pharmaceutical development company, prior to its acquisition by King Pharmaceuticals in 2000. From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Williams was Co-Chairman and a director of Vysis, a genetic biopharmaceutical company. Prior to founding Conner-Thoele Limited, Mr. Williams held various operational and financial management officer positions with Erbamont, N.V., Field Enterprises, Inc., Abbott Laboratories and American Hospital Supply Corporation. Mr. Williams is also a director of EP Med Systems and a director, Chairman and interim Chief Executive Officer of Cellegy Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a specialty biopharmaceutical company. Mr. Williams received a B.A. degree from DePauw University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Finance.

Andrew J. Perlman, M.D., Ph.D. was appointed to our Board of Directors in April 2006. Dr. Perlman is the co-founder and has served since October 2004 as the Chief Executive Officer of Innate Immune, Inc., a company engaged in the discovery and development of therapeutics for asthma and autoimmune diseases. Dr. Perlman served in various senior management positions, culminating as Executive Vice President, at Tularik, Inc., a public biotechnology company; from 1993 through October 2004; except from 2002 to 2004 when he served as the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Affymax, Inc., a privately-held biopharmaceutical company. While at Tularik, Dr. Perlman's principal responsibilities were in the areas of clinical research and business development by which he provided medical input and strategy for all Tularik clinical projects, and played an active role in Tularik's financing activities and in its merger with Amgen in 2004. Prior to 1993, Dr. Perlman was a Senior Director of Clinical Research at Genentech, Inc. and served as a faculty member in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University. Dr. Perlman presently is a member of the Board of Directors of Innate Immne, Inc. Dr. Perlman received his M.D. and his Ph.D. in Physiology from New York University.

Benjamin F. McGraw, III, Pharm.D. has served on our Board of Directors since April 2000, except for the period from November 2002 to December 2002. Dr. McGraw has been President and Chief Executive Officer since 1994, and Chairman of the Board since 1996, of Valentis, Inc., a biotechnology company. Prior to this, Dr. McGraw was Corporate Vice President for Corporate Development of Allergan. Before that, he was an equity analyst and a fund manager at Carerra Capital Management. Prior to this, he was Vice-President, Development for Marion Laboratories and Marion, Merrell Dow. Dr. McGraw received B.S. and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences where he also completed a clinical practice residency.

Kathleen D. LaPorte , age 45, has served as a member of the Board of Directors since April 1997. Since July 2005, Ms. LaPorte has been a managing director of New Leaf Venture Partners, a life science venture capital firm. From 1994 to June 2005, Ms. LaPorte was a General Partner at the Sprout Group, a venture capital firm affiliated with Credit Suisse First Boston. Ms. LaPorte currently serves on the board of directors of Affymax, Inc., a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company, eHealth, Inc., a publicly traded healthcare technology company, ISTA Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company, Adeza Biomedical Corporation, a publicly traded medical device company, and several privately-held companies. Ms. LaPorte holds a B.S. in Biology from Yale University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
