Edele Hovnanian, Founder, has been making trips to the homeland once or twice a year since the late 70s, personally experiencing many of the youth oriented educational, cultural and volunteer service programs in Armenia. Her participation in such programs lead her to assume strong leadership positions within two organizations, serving currently as President of the Land and Culture Organization (LCO-USA) and Board member of its international umbrella organization, Union de Organization Terre et Culture (UIOTC) in France since 1993, as well as serving as a member of the Board of Directors with the Armenian Assembly of America since 1991, with the position of Treasurer from 1992-2002. She is currently the Senior Vice President of Operations for Hovsons, Inc. a diversified real estate development corporation in Tinton Falls, NJ, and President of Hovnanian Senior Housing Services, Inc. and Hovnanian Property Management, Inc., where she manages and oversees the operations of the health care and commercial divisions. Hovnanian holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University, and joint B.S. degrees in Finance and Civil Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. However, it was her study abroad program at the University of Yerevan from 1982-1983 that proved to be the educational experience that was the most life changing for her. Hovnanian resides in New Jersey. Dr. Annita Nerses, Board of Directors, has been actively involved in the Armenian Community for over 15 years. Her participation in summer programs such as the Armenian Assembly internship and the Land and Culture Organization (LCO) summer campaigns during her student years helped form the foundation for her commitment to community activism. Since then, she has been serving as a Board Member of LCO, and has served as a Board Member and active participant in many other organizations, including the Armenian Students Association, ARAMAC, Friends of ANCA, and the Musical Armenia Concert Series sponsored by the Armenian Prelacy of New York. Dr. Nerses draws inspiration from over a decade of experience coordinating the LCO summer campaigns in Armenia and NKR. LCO's impact on its volunteers reinforces her belief that the depth, quality, and duration of a diasporan's experience in this young democracy have an irrevocable effect on the individual's commitment to the challenging process of nation-building. Dr. Nerses holds a Ph.D. in applied physics and currently works at ITT Industries in the Washington, DC area. She has published extensively in her field and holds several patents.
Gretchen W. McClain is President of ITT Fluid and Motion Control, ITT's portfolio of businesses serving vital markets including water and fluids management and motion and flow control. She is also a corporate Senior Vice President and a member of the company's Strategic Council.
McClain joined ITT in September 2005 as the President of ITT's Residential & Commercial Water business. She was named President of ITT Fluid Technology in March 2007 and served in that role before being named to her current post in December 2008.
Prior to joining ITT, McClain was Vice President and General Manager of the Business, General Aviation & Helicopters (BGH) Electronics division at Honeywell Aerospace based in Phoenix, Arizona. Prior to assuming the BGH position, she held a variety of leadership positions in Honeywell Aerospace's Engines, Systems & Services division, including Vice President for Engineering and Technology and Vice President for Program Management. She joined AlliedSignal in 1999, which later merged with Honeywell.
Earlier, McClain spent nine years with NASA and served as Deputy Associate Administrator for Space Development where she played a pivotal role in the successful development and launch of the International Space Station Program. Also with NASA, she served as Chief Director for Space Station, and as a Deputy Director for Space Flight. She began her career as a structures and dynamics engineer in the commercial aerospace industry.
McClain currently serves on the boards of the Hydraulic Institute, the largest association of pump producers in North America, and Faradyne, an ITT joint venture with Pentair, Inc.
McClain is a graduate of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where she earned her bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

Linda Sanford leads the strategy for IBM’s internal transformation to the industry’s premier on demand business. In this role, Ms. Sanford is responsible for working across IBM to transform core business processes, create an IT infrastructure to support those processes, and help create a culture that recognizes the value that on demand leadership can bring to IBM.
Previously Ms. Sanford was Senior Vice President & Group Executive, IBM Storage Systems Group, where she helped take IBM from fifth place in storage market share to second in two years. Prior to assuming that position, Ms. Sanford headed IBM Global Industries, the organization that manages relationships with IBM's largest customers worldwide and is responsible for generating almost 70 percent of IBM's revenue.
Before that, Ms. Sanford was General Manager of IBM's S/390 Division, which develops, manufactures and markets large-enterprise systems. During the early 1990s, she guided the S/390 Division through one of the most comprehensive product transformations the computer industry has ever seen, reinventing S/390 as an open, enterprise-level server.
One of the highest-ranking women at IBM, Ms. Sanford is a member of the Women in Technology International Hall of Fame and the National Academy of Engineering. She has been named one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Business by Fortune Magazine, one of the Top Ten Innovators in the Technology Industry by Information Week Magazine, and one of the Ten Most Influential Women in Technology by Working Woman Magazine.
Ms. Sanford is the chairman of The Business Council of New York State, Inc. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Partnership for New York City, ITT Industries, St. John's University, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Ms. Sanford co-authored “Let Go To Grow: Escaping the Commodity Trap” a book that details how successful companies are pursuing strategies to drive long-term growth and innovation. The book was published by Prentice Hall in December 2005.
A graduate of St. John's University, Ms. Sanford earned an M.S. in Operations Research from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

In November 2004, General Paul Kern concluded his more than 40-year career in the United States Army when he retired as Commanding General, Army Materiel Command (AMC). In that capacity, and earlier as Commander of the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized), General Kern left his impact on the Army's future as he led a drive to digitize and transform its warfighting capabilities. With a staff of over 50,000 civilians and active military members, he won wide respect for his efforts to direct supply chain improvements, maintain field readiness, and modernize weapons systems throughout the Army while still controlling costs. Some of his efforts included consolidating major munitions production operations, employing radio frequency identification, and managing the supply of rebuilt equipment for the front lines, a shift critical to our ongoing operations in Iraq. In June 2004, General Kern undertook a vastly different responsibility when Secretary Rumsfeld tapped him to lead the military's internal investigation into the abuses at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, a tough assignment that he handled with skill. Prior to his command at AMC, he served as the military deputy to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology and was the senior military advisor to the Army Acquisition Executive and the Army Chief of Staff on all research, development, and acquisition programs and related issues. He supervised the Program Executive Officer system, and served as the director of the Army Acquisition Corps.
