The Jack Young Company was founded in 1946 when Jack Young started selling rubber tire patches from the back of his car. Soon, Jack was in the auto parts business with a store in Dorchester MA, two employees, and ambitious plans. In 1950, the company moved into a portion of the building which it presently occupies in Allston MA. The Jack Young Company was one of the first distributors in the country to recognize and focus on the emerging truck and auto fleet market, and this quickly became the company's specialty and one of the reasons for its dramatic growth over the years. Today, the company occupies 100,000 square feet of warehouse space, and employs over 150 dedicated men and women who contribute daily to its success. The company travels approximately 20 salespeople throughout the six-state New England region serving over 3,000 active accounts.
