Kilian leads JLT's insurance management and consulting office in Bermuda. He brings over 12 years of experience in the insurance industry both in Bermuda and, previously, Dublin, Ireland. With a team of over 20 people, Kilian is responsible for JLT's delivery of all management and consulting services in Bermuda. His portfolio of clients now comprises some 50 companies under management generating over US$1.2BN of annual written premiums. Like all JLT senior managers he retains significant daily involvement in the management of individual client relationships and personally is involved in the provision of consulting services. Kilian was educated in Ireland and is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (F.C.C.A.). He has been in Bermuda for over 10 years having previously served as Vice President of Client Management & Accounting Services at International Risk Management (Bermuda) Ltd.

Steve is Deputy Chairman of JLT's insurance management operations in the Americas specifically focused on business development. He has more than 16 years insurance, accounting and management experience in both the Bermuda and London insurance markets. Steve was educated in England and gained an honours degree in civil engineering from Leeds University. He then trained and qualified as an accountant with Coopers & Lybrand, London specializing in the insurance industry. Upon relocating to Bermuda, Steve joined International Risk Management (Bermuda) Ltd. where he held a senior management position providing client management and accounting services to over 70 captives and other insurance/reinsurance companies.

Brian Carpenter joined Jardine Australian Insurance Brokers in 1987. He has been Managing Director of JLT Australia and New Zealand since 2000 and Chief Executive of JLT Asia Pacific and a member of the Group Executive Committee since May 2005. He joined the Board in April 2006.

Vyvienne Wade joined JIB Group in 1987 as Group Legal Adviser. A barrister and member of the Inner Temple, she has been Group Legal Director of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc since 1997 and is a member of the Group Executive Committee. She was appointed a director of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc in January 2002.

Before returning to Malta in 1983 as a qualified Chartered Accountant, David Bartoli spent 7 years studying in the UK. Whilst in England, he completed his formal education, received training from Royal Sun Alliance and gained his accountancy training from a firm of Chartered Accountants. Since his return to the family business of C & H Bartoli Limited, a company that is involved not only in insurance, but also in a variety of other activities strategic to Malta, David has worked as an executive director, and now Managing Director, of Elmo Insurance, and as a director of each company within the Elmo Group.

Richard has more than 15 years insurance accounting and captive experience, currently sitting on the Board of a number of captive insurance companies. Before joining JLT in May 2000, Richard served as Financial Manager at International Risk Management (Guernsey) Limited. He has provided client management and accounting services to over 40 captive insurance companies. He has worked on a range of business issues including the interpretation and application of accounting standards to captive business, application of reserving practices particularly as regards long tail business. In addition to his accounting and insurance qualifications, Richard has completed the Institute of Directors Diploma in Company Direction.

Lloyd started his career in 1969 and after an initial period with Yorkshire Ins Co in Leeds joined NatWest Insurance Services in Bristol where he undertook various roles including Commercial New Business production and a number of management functions. He moved to Dubai in 1982 to join Sedgwick Forbes Middle East( then part of Arab Commercial Enterprises) as Assistant Manager responsible for new business and servicing of major clients. In 1988 he went to work for HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum (now Ruler of Dubai) as Adviser on all insurance and related risk matters for those elements of the Government of Dubai reporting to Sh. Mohammed.These included advising, amongst others, Aviation,Marine,Energy, Construction and Property entities as well as the worlds largest Horse Racing/Stud operation. Lloyd joined JLT as a Partner on 1st May 2008.

Jim Rush was appointed Finance Director of the Group on 1st August 2006. He is a member of the Group Executive Committee. He joins JLT from Jardine Matheson, where he was latterly Group Treasurer, having held a number of senior management roles within the Jardine Matheson Group, including Group Financial Controller of Dairy Farm. Prior to joining Jardine Matheson he was with PricewaterhouseCoopers for twelve years.

William Nabarro joined the Group in 2003 following a career in merchant banking. He was appointed Executive Chairman of JLT Employee Benefits in January 2006, joined the Board as Commercial Director in April 2006 and became Chairman of the UK Retail Insurance business in April 2007. He is a non-executive director of ICAP plc and a member of the Strategic Advisory Board of SVG, the investment management business.

Bob (born 6 January 1942) is currently a non-executive director of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc, Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc, Focus DIY Group Limited and Crimestoppers Trust. He is also a non-executive director of Swiss Reinsurance Company, Zurich. Bob retired as Group Chief Executive of CGNU plc (now Aviva) in 2001, having previously held the same position with CGU plc and General Accident plc, where he had been a director since 1992. He was also chairman of the Association of British Insurers in 2000-2001, having been a board member for four years and he was a member of the President's Committee of the CBI from 1998-2000.

Elizabeth gained a Ph.D. at the LSE where her work focused on US foreign policy and the international relations of the Middle East. She is a guest lecturer at the University of Birmingham in the department of American and Canadian studies, and a regular conference speaker. She has played a leading role in the development of JLT's World Risk Review, a country ratings model that assesses the level of risk associated with nine political and economic perils across 197 countries and territories. Elizabeth is the author of US Policy T#owards Israel: The Role of Political Culture in Defining the 'Special Relationship' and she has contributed articles to industry publications and international relations journals.

Jane joined JLT in May 2000 and holds the CII Diploma in Insurance (Dip CII) and has sixteen years experience of underwriting for captive insurance and reinsurance subsidiaries. She has overall responsibility for the underwriting and claims functions within the office as well as specific client responsibilities and has worked with clients past and present from a number of countries and with a wide range of business needs including significant UK financial institutions, international pharmaceutical, manufacturing and trading companies, a UK government agency and a professional body plus construction and facilities management companies.

Neil is Head of our Life Sciences and Chemicals Industry Practice, where he brings a lifetime of experience of controlling risk and insurance strategy for major multinationals including ICI and AstraZeneca.

Nigel's experience and knowledge of the global aerospace sector have helped JLT to become the fourth largest aviation broker in the world. He joined JLT in 2003 following a distinguished career which has included him being a Director of Alexander Howden Insurance Brokers, Managing Director of Alexander Howden Limited Aviation Division and Managing Director of Heath Aviation. Nigel specialises in major aviation risks and is as a reputation as a skilful and client-focused negotiators and account managers.

Ralph's current projects include structuring and modelling of credit portfolio risk trading for corporations, international banks and ECAs. Prior to joining JLT, Ralph worked as a quantitative analyst within a major European ECA, where he designed, implemented and operated their credit portfolio risk model, which is responsible for calculating the reserves required for catastrophic risk protection as well as pricing of alternate reinsurance structures on their portfolio. Ralph has a MSc in Scientific Computing from the Stockholm University and will complete his MBA at Henley Management College this year.

Geoffrey Howe was appointed a non-executive director in January 2002, became Joint Deputy Chairman in November 2004 and Senior Independent Director in April 2005. He was appointed Chairman in April 2006 when he relinquished the appointments as Senior Independent Director, Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and member of the Audit Comittee. He remains a member of the Nominations Committee. He is Chairman of the Nationwide Building Society and a director of Investec plc. He was formerly Chairman of Railtrack Group plc, a director and group general counsel of Robert Fleming Holdings and managing partner of Clifford Chance.

Paul has executive responsibility for JLT's insurance management business in the Americas and is based in Bermuda where he has lived for over 20 years. He has worked in the insurance industry for 28 years, including more than 20 years in the field of alternative risk financing and captives. Prior to joining JLT in 2000, Paul was President of International Risk Management (Bermuda) Ltd. where he was responsible for providing management services to more than 70 captives and other insurance/reinsurance entities. He originally came to Bermuda with Johnson & Higgins (Bermuda) Ltd. where he was involved in captive management and consulting as well as other alternative risk financing activities. Paul was born and educated in Northern Ireland where he commenced his career as an insurance broker with Willis. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) and has been involved in various industry and community activities in Bermuda including the executive committee of the Bermuda Insurance Managers Association and the education committee of the Bermuda Insurance Institute. Now a Bermudian, Paul has demonstrated his long-term commitment to a career in Bermuda.

Alexander Neill is Head of the Asia Security Programme at RUSI. Alex leads research projects and hosts private discussion meetings and public conferences on all aspects of Asian defense and security issues. Alex is the Managing Editor of the Chinese Military Update (CMU), a periodical aimed at examining Chinese military modernization. He is also responsible for commenting in the media on behalf of RUSI on Asian affairs, and has recently contributed interviews to BBC News 24 and the Japanese television Channel NHK. Prior to joining RUSI, Alex was a political and security analyst for the British government and spent three and a half years with the British Embassy in Washington DC.

Christopher Keljik was appointed to the Board in May 2006. After a long career with Standard Chartered plc that commenced in 1976, he retired from his position as Group Executive Director of Standard Chartered plc in May 2005. During his career with Standard Chartered, he held a number of senior positions in corporate fi nance, treasury and general management in the UK, USA and Asia. Immediately prior to his retirement, his responsibilities at Standard Chartered included its businesses in Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, the UK and the Americas. A Chartered Accountant, his previous responsibilities have also included risk management, audit, corporate affairs, investor relations and corporate governance. He currently holds non-executive directorships at Foreign & Colonial Investment Trust plc and Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc.

Christine Shields is Head of Country Risk Research, Standard Chartered Bank?s Global Research team. Christine joined SCB in 2006 after spending 19 years at Royal Bank of Scotland where she also headed up Country Risk within the Global Banking and Markets division. Previously, she worked in Group Economics, covering emerging markets research, after previously covering macroeconomics and markets for the UK, USA, Japan and Europe. Her principal focus remains Asia, where she has traveled extensively.

John Paynter joined Greenhill in 2009. Previously John spent 29 years with Cazenove, latterly JPMorgan Cazenove, where he retired as Vice Chairman in 2008. John is a non-executive director of Standard Chartered PLC and Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc.

Jonathan Steele is the Guardian's Senior Foreign Correspondent and its main in-house International Affairs Commentator. He has served as the paper's Washington bureau chief (1975 to 1979) and its Moscow Bureau Chief (1988 to 1994). In recent years he has specialised in the Middle East and West Asia, covering the conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Palestinian territories. He has twice won the International Reporter of the Year title in the British Press awards, and is the author of several books on foreign affairs, including South Africa, Germany, and the Soviet Union/Russia. His latest book DEFEAT: Why they lost Iraq will be published by I.B. Tauris in January 2008.

Mark Drummond-Brady joined Jardine Lloyd Thompson in 1987, having spent four years as an officer in the British Army. He began his career as a Political Risks specialist and built JLT?s Financial Solutions operation, developing Credit and Alternative Risk Transfer business. He took responsibility for Risk Finance in 2002 and Financial and Professional Lines in 2004. In 2005 he created the combined Financial Risks Division, incorporating Accident & Health and the new JLT Sport operation and then in March 2006 he was appointed Chairman of JLT Risk Solutions Limited. He has also led Corporate Development at JLT Risk Solutions Limited, presiding over acquisition strategy and the establishment, management and development of overseas offices and partnerships. Following the formation of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Limited he assumed the role of Deputy Chairman. As well as these responsibilities, he is International Chairman of the JLT Group a role aimed at ensuring that JLT derives maximum benefit from the co-ordination of all its international businesses, leveraging areas of strength throughout the Group. Mark has been responsible for a number of regulatory changes in the market and is a frequent contributor to trade media and international conferences. He has a Degree in History which he obtained at the University of Kent in Canterbury.

Martin Stone heads The Risk Advisory Group's Middle East and North Africa practice. He joined the company in October 2006 from Aon Limited, where he was a director of their Professional Risks and Special Risks divisions. Martin has previously held the positions of Head of Country and Political Risk at Deloitte & Touche and Head of Research at Control Risk. Martin has spoken on political risk, terrorism and all aspects of crisis management to business and academic audiences around the world. Columbia University Press published his book on the politics and sociology of Algeria in 1997 and he has contributed numerous articles on political risk and terrorism to a wide variety of business-focused publications. He has previously lived and worked in Egypt.

Scott Lucas is a Professor of American Studies at the University of Birmingham. He is a specialist in US and British foreign policy and has written and edited seven books and published more than 30 major articles in this area. Scott is the Executive Director of Libertas: The Centre for the Study of US Foreign Policy, Adjunct Professor of the Institute for North American and European Studies at the University of Tehran, and a member of the Advisory Board of the Centre for American Studies and Research at American University Beirut. He is also the Associate Editor of the Journal of American Studies. Scott is a frequent contributor to the American, British, and international media.

Simon Keswick was a non-executive director of JIB Group plc between 1988 and 1997 and was appointed a director of the Company in January 2001. His other directorships include Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited, Matheson & Co. Limited and other Jardine Matheson Group companies. He is a director of JPMorgan Fleming Mercantile Investment Trust plc. He is a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nominations Committees.
