Charlie Mayfield is a Board Director of the Partnership responsible for John Lewis Department Store operations and associated business such as textile manufacturers. He originally joined the Board as Development Director in 2001. Charlie began his career as an officer in the Scots Guards. He joined SmithKline Beecham as Marketing Manager for the Lucozade account in 1992, moving to the post of Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Co in 1996 (working with consumer and retail organisations with particular reference to e-commerce). Responsible for all IT and telecommunication systems used throughout John Lewis. Eric joined the Partnership in 1983 as a Department Stores Systems Programmer. In 1985 he became Manager, Technical Support, and in 1991, Manager, Department Stores, where he was responsible for the Buying Team. In 1994 Eric became Manager New Development Area, then Head of Department Stores Buying, Accountancy and Production Systems. In March 2006 Eric became Systems Director, John Lewis where, as well as supporting the rapid business growth of the JL division, key initiatives include new buying and merchandise planning systems, new supply chain systems including an automated logistics solution for a new distribution centre, a unified stock accounting system and a trial Radio Frequency Identification RFID system.

Janice Doherty joined the Partnership in 1982 as a graduate trainee becoming Department Manager at Waitrose Windsor in 1984. Responsible for all IT and Telecommunication systems used throughout the Waitrose Division. Evelyn Strouts was elected to the Board in 2005. She joined the Partnership in 1982 as a Registrar Trainee and her first appointment was as Central Registrar later that year. She subsequently became Principal Registrar Waitrose and in 1990 was part of the opening team of John Lewis Kingston, again as Registrar. During her career, she worked in a number of administrative and PR appointments, her last job that of Press Officer WRNS and QARRNS (Queen Alexandra's Royal Naval Nursing Service).

Anne joined the Partnership as a weekend assistant at Waitrose Harpenden in 1985, becoming a full-time 'A' Level Trainee the following year. Over the next 15 years Anne worked in various Waitrose branches as a section manager, before moving to Personnel in 2001. Throughout her career Anne has been a keen participant in the Partnership's democracy, including being a Waitrose Councillor for six years and, since 1998, a Partnership Councillor. Anne was elected to the Board in 2003, and is also a member of the Partnership Council's Pay and Benefits Committee, and has served as Chairman for three years.

Johnny Aisher is Clerk to the Partnership Council. He joined the Partnership in 1985 as a graduate trainee in John Lewis Oxford Street, he later became a department manager in Jones Brothers and then John Lewis Kingston. He moved into IT in 1994 as a systems advisor for department stores, then analyst and project manager for credit systems, before transferring to Waitrose in 2001 as Office and Personnel Systems manager and latterly as manager of the Waitrose Information Systems team. Mark Price was appointed Development Director in January 2005. Among his responsibilities will be advice to the Partnership Board on our investment in Ocado. He joined the Partnership in 1982. Mark held various managerial posts in John Lewis Department Stores until he was appointed Managing Director at John Lewis High Wycombe in 1992 and in 1995 he opened John Lewis Cheadle (near Manchester) in the same role. Mark transferred to Waitrose in February 1998 as the John Lewis Partnership's first Marketing Director. In 2000 he was additionally given responsibility for retail operations adding the title Director of Selling. Mark is Chairman of the Marketing Board of the CIES, the international association of the food industry, and also a Fellow of the RSA.
