Cathy joined Kiln in 1997. She began her career in 1988 as a graduate trainee with Friends? Provident Life Office in Salisbury and moved to Mercantile & General Reinsurance Co. Ltd. in 1994 where she became involved in all aspects of life and health reinsurance. Cathy is currently the Chair of the Lloyd's Term Life Business Panel; a member of the ABI?s HIV and Rare Genetic Conditions Working Groups; and Chair of the Association of Medical Underwriters.

George joined Kiln and Syndicate 807 at the start of 2005. He assists all underwriters with general duties, as well as being responsible for the updating and monitoring of statistical and aggregate data.

Liz joined Kiln in 2001; prior to that she worked at Lloyd?s Brokers and various insurers. Her primary responsibility is for the review and agreement of wordings & binding authority agreements on the Property & Aviation accounts.

Nick joined Kiln in August 2006, and has over 20 years? life underwriting experience. Nick began his underwriting career in 1982 with Swiss Re and entered Lloyd?s as underwriting assistant for Syndicate 332 in 1983, becoming the Active Underwriter in 1994 at the age of 30. When Syndicate 332 closed at the end of 2003, Nick enjoyed a spell as an intermediary. Nick is a former chair of the Lloyd?s Term Life Business Panel.

Robert joined Kiln in 2001 as a graduate trainee and became a permanent member of the syndicate's team in 2003. He underwrites Canadian, UK and European property accounts.

Ian is Chairman of Kiln plc and Companies House plc. He is a Senior Non Executive Director of The Weir Group plc and Ricardo plc, a Member of the Legal Aid Board for Scotland and a Director of a number of other companies and a consultant on Auditing and Corporate Governance. He was a member of the Treasury and DTI Coordinating Committee on Accounting and Auditing issues which reported in January 2003. He is a Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, represented the UK on the International Auditing Practices Committee 1995-2000 and was Chairman of the Accounts Commission and Audit Scotland until 2000. He was awarded the CBE for services to the accountancy profession and Local Government in 1996. He is an Honorary Professor of Accounting and Doctor of Laws at Aberdeen University. He became Senior Non Executive of CALA in December 2000.

David Woods was previously a non-executive director of Resolution Life Group Limited. He is a member of the Remuneration Committee and Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee. He qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 1973 and has spent more than thirty six years working in the life insurance and investment industries both in the UK and abroad. He is currently Chairman of Royal Liver Assurance, the second largest friendly society in the UK. He was Managing Director of The Scottish Provident Group from 1988 until 2002. He is also a director of Kiln plc, Edinburgh Small Companies Trust plc and The Moller Centre for Continuing Education. He is a trustee of the Xansa Group and Scottish Provident Pension Schemes and a member of the Court of Heriot Watt University.

William Berkley is and has been chairman of the board and chief executive officer of W. R. Berkley Corporation since its formation in 1967 and also serves as president and chief operating officer of that company. William Berkley also serves as chairman of the board or director of a number of public and private companies as well as educational and charitable institutions. These include Associated Community Bancorp. Inc. and its subsidiary, Connecticut Community Bank, N.A.; FFS Holdings, Inc.: The First Marblehead Corporation; Interlaken Capital, Inc.: Strategic Distribution, Inc; Georgetown University; New York University, where he is vice-chairman of the board of trustees and chairman of the board of overseers of the Stern School; and the W. R. Berkley Corporation Charitable Foundation. He joined the board of Kiln plc in September 2002.
