Mr. Alderson has been a Director of Kirkland’s since September 1986 and has been Chief Executive Officer of Kirkland’s since February 2006. He also served as Chief Executive Officer of Kirkland’s from March 2001 to May 2005. He currently serves as President of Kirkland’s, and he also served as President from February 2006 to March 2006 and as President from November 1997 to May 2005. He served as Chief Operating Officer of Kirkland’s from November 1997 through March 2001 and as Senior Vice President of Kirkland’s since joining in 1986 through November 1997. He also served as Chief Administrative Officer of Kirkland’s from 1986 to 1997. Prior to joining Kirkland’s, Mr. Alderson was a senior partner at the law firm of Menzies, Rainey, Kizer & Alderson.

W. Michael Madden, 39, has been Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since January 2008 and Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since May 2006. Prior to his appointment as Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Madden served as Vice President of Finance from May 2005 to April 2006. Prior to May 2005, he served as Director of Finance since July 2000. Prior to joining Kirkland’s, Mr. Madden served as Assistant Controller with Trammell Crow Company and was with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. At PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, he served in positions of increasing responsibility over six years culminating as Manager-Assurance and Business Advisory Services where he worked with various clients, public and private, in the retail and consumer products industries.

W. Michael Madden, 38, has been Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since January 2008 and Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since May 2006. Prior to his appointment as Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Madden served as Vice President of Finance since May 2005. Prior to May 2005, he served as Director of Finance since July 2000. Prior to joining Kirkland s, Mr. Madden served as Assistant Controller with Trammell Crow Company and was with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. At PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, he served in positions of increasing responsibility over six years culminating as Manager-Assurance and Business Advisory Services where he worked with various clients, public and private, in the retail and consumer products industries. No family relationships exist among any of the above-listed officers, and there are no arrangements or understandings between any of the above-listed officers and any other person pursuant to which they serve as an officer. Sharyn Hejcl , 42, joined Kirkland s as Vice President and General Merchandise Manager in January, 2007. Prior to joining Kirkland s, from 2003 to 2007, Ms. Hejcl was employed with Bed, Bath and Beyond leaving as Divisional Merchandise Manager of the Home Decor and Tabletop division. Prior to that, she was Director of Replenishment & Forecasting for Jo-Ann Stores. She also served as Divisional Merchandise Manager for Jo-Ann Stores. She began her retail career at May Department Stores spending 13 years with increasing responsibilities in buying and serving as a Market Representative in the Decorative Housewares and Home Textile divisions. No family relationships exist among any of the above-listed officers, and there are no arrangements or understandings between any of the above-listed officers and any other person pursuant to which they serve as an officer. All officers are elected to hold office for one year or until their successors are elected and qualified.

Mr. Gomez has served as a director of Kirkland s, Inc. since June 2006. Since 2004, Mr. Gomez has been a Principal with Advent International, one of our principal shareholders. Before joining Advent, he spent three years with the private equity firm Summit Partners and four years with the investment bank Bowles Hollowell Connor. Prior to that, Mr. Gomez served over eight years in the U.S. Navy as a Navy SEAL Commander and as a Navy Pilot. He received a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1987 and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1997.

Since 2007, Mr. Kirkland has been a Senior Research Analyst and Associate Portfolio Manager with Mastrapasqua Asset Management, a private asset management firm. He joined Mastrapasqua Asset Management in 2000 as a Research Analyst. Before joining Mastrapasqua, he spent three years working with Kirkland’s in store operations. He received a B.A. in English from The University of the South in 1994 and an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management in 2000.

Mr. Spain was the co-founder of Dollar Express, Inc. and acted as its President and Chief Operating Officer from its inception in 1961 until May 2000, when Dollar Express merged with Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. At that time, Dollar Express was a chain of 126 retail stores in five states.

Ralph T. Parks, age 62, has been a Director since June 2002. Mr. Parks was named the current interim CEO of Heelys, Inc., a global distributor of action youth footwear, in February 2008. Prior to Heelys, he worked at FOOTACTION USA from 1987 to 1999, when he retired as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Parks served two terms as Chairman of the National Sporting Goods Association Board of Directors and was inducted into the Sporting Goods Industry Hall of Fame in May 2000. Mr. Parks also serves on the Board of Directors of Kirkland’s and is a member of its Audit Committee and serves on the Board of Directors of Heelys.
