Kosair Children's Hospital

James L. Sublett MD, Founder, President and CEO of AllergyZone LLC, is a nationally recognized specialist in allergies and asthma. A practicing, board certified allergist, Dr. Sublett has a long standing interest in indoor air quality, particularly related to the impact of air filtration. In his 25 year career he has given hundreds of talks, both to the medical and scientific communities, but also to the lay public and building science communities on the subject. Dr. Sublett has been a speaker at the annual international meetings of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and Affordable Comfort, a meeting attended by the directors of the EPA and Canadian Healthy Homes programs and world class experts on building science. He has co-lectured numerous times with other experts in the IAQ field, including John Ouellette MD, a mold expert from the University of Wisconsin, and Jeff May, the author of "My House is Killing Me" published by Johns Hopkins Press. He is recognized by both the medical and building science community as one of a handful of experts who has knowledge in both areas. Because of his experience and knowledge, Dr. Sublett is able to sort through and clarify the often confusing issues related to "Health and Housing". Dr. Sublett has been elected as a Fellow in both the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI) and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI). He currently serves as Chief of the Allergy Section at the Kosair-Children's Hospital, University of Louisville School of Medicine, is a founding partner of Family Allergy & Asthma and is past president of the Kentucky Allergy Society. He is a member of the Indoor Allergen Committees for both the AAAAI and the ACAAI and of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

Rob Dowling, M.D., professor of surgery at UofL, is an important member of the CII clinical team that assists in planning for studies with clinical relevance and/or involving clinical procedures. Dr. Dowling is widely recognized as an expert in ventricular remodeling (the "Batista" procedure), transmyocardial revascularization (TMR) and mechanical heart devices. Along with Dr. Gray, he performed the world's first implantation of the AbioCor , Implantable Replacement Heart, at Jewish Hospital. In 1995, Dr. Dowling performed the first double-lung transplant in Kentucky; he then performed the first ventricular remodeling in Kentucky the following year. Dr. Dowling is the surgical director of the Heart Transplant Program and director of the Mechanical Circulatory Support Program at Jewish Hospital. He is also director of the Heart Transplant Program at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville. He has written more than 85 articles, book chapters and abstracts and serves on a National Institutes of Health integrated review group. He received his M.D. and training in cardiothoracic surgery and transplantation at the University of Pittsburgh.

Lynnie Meyer was promoted to chief development officer at Norton Healthcare in 2006 after serving as vice president since 2004. She also serves as executive director of both the Children's Hospital Foundation and Norton Healthcare Foundation. The foundations support the needs of Kosair Children's Hospital and the Norton Healthcare adult services. Under her leadership, the foundations generated more than $9 million in support of Norton Healthcare's mission in 2006. Prior to joining Norton Healthcare, Meyer served as president and CEO of The Center for Women and Families in Louisville , where she successfully led a $12.5 million fundraising campaign. Under her leadership, the center won the Annie E. Casey Foundation Families Count Award and secured a prestigious Kresge Foundation Challenge grant. Meyer has also held positions with CARITAS Health Services, UofL Hospital , Care Tenders, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia , and Kosair Children's Hospital. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in science from Bellarmine University and is a graduate of Leadership Louisville, Bingham Fellows and Leadership Kentucky. Meyer has been inducted into the Bellarmine University Gallery of Distinguished Graduates, been named a Business First Top 40 Under 40, been named by the Shakertown Roundtable as one of 40 Kentucky Leaders for the New Century, and received numerous awards including the Center for Non-Profit Excellence Art of Leadership Award, NCCJ Humanitarian Award, Presentation Academy Tower Award. In addition, she is actively involved in the Red Cross River Valley Blood Services board, Archdiocese of Louisville Sexual Abuse Review board, National League of Nursing Foundation for Nursing Education board and Metro United Way Success By Six board of directors.
