Tom Dyer is the Vice President of Marketing and Government Affairs for Kyocera Solar and is a pioneer in photovoltaics. His solar career began in the early 70's at Spectrolab where low-cost terrestrial solar products were derived from the company's space cell technology. This team developed new terrestrial solar cell fabrication, module packaging, system specification, and sizing techniques. With a background in Electrical Engineering, Tom joined Arco Solar (later to be Siemens Solar and Shell Solar) in 1977 where he served as Applications Engineer, Manufacturing Manager, Business Development Manager, and in International Sales positions in Singapore (2 years) and Tokyo (5 years), before assuming the duties of Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales in 1987. After establishing a consulting business serving international solar energy clients in 1990, he joined Kyocera Solar in 1996 (formerly Photocomm and Golden Genesis Corp.), an industry leader in PV systems technology, and has served as VP Operations, VP Manufacturing & Engineering, and VP Sales & Marketing before assuming his current duties.
