Rol Fessenden is Vice President-Sourcing of L. L. Bean, Inc. He is responsible for world-wide production and quality of the company's entire product line. Mr. Fessenden has been with L. L. Bean for 17 years and has served in a variety of capacities. In 1991, Mr. Fessenden became the co-chair of what now is the Maine Mathematics & Science Coalition. The Maine Mathematics Coalition facilitated the development of a successful application to the National Science Foundation for funding of Maine's statewide systemic initiative in mathematics, science, and technology education. He served for a number of years on the executive committee and strategic planning committee of the nonprofit organization that led Maine's systemic reform effort. Mr. Fessenden received his BA in Mathematics from the State University of Binghamton, NY in 1969 and his MA in Geology from the same university in 1974.
