In her role as Executive Vice-President, Corporate Affairs, Lorraine Pilon has vast responsibilities: Internal Audit, Legal Affairs and Compliance, Security, as well as Public Affairs, Communications and Investor Relations. She is also Secretary of Laurentian Bank of Canada and is a member of the Management Committee. Ms. Pilon has been with Laurentian Bank of Canada since 1990. Ms. Pilon began her legal career in 1988 as an attorney specializing in commercial and real estate law for a large law firm. She later joined Laurentian Bank of Canada where she earned a series of promotions: first Legal Advisor; then Senior Legal Counsel; followed by Manager, Legal Affairs, Eastern Region, in 1996; and a year later, Manager, Legal Affairs and Chief Compliance Officer. In 1999, Ms. Pilon was promoted to Vice-President, Legal Affairs and Compliance, to be named in 2000 Senior Vice-President, Legal Affairs and Compliance. In 2003, she joined the Management Committee as Executive Vice-President, Corporate Affairs, and Secretary. Ms. Pilon holds a B.Sc. degree in Administration from Mississippi University for Women at Columbus, Mississippi. She obtained her Bachelor in Civil Law with Honours from McGill University. She is a member of the Quebec Bar Association and holds a specialized diploma in commercial law from Universite de Montreal. She is currently completing her MBA in Financial Services at Universite du Quebec in Montreal. Is CEO of Golden Heron Enterprises. She has served on boards of growing companies and larger corporations. Ms. Bodkin was the founding Chair of the B.C. Securities Commission and Deputy Minister responsible for financial institutions. For ten years she was a partner with Ernst & Young in Vancouver. She has been Chair of the Vancouver Board of Trade, and has served on advisory boards on trade and investment to Canadian and provincial ministers. She is currently a Director of the Laurentian Bank of Canada, a company with over $16 billion in assets, and is active with institutional and corporate investors in Canada and Asia. Ms. Bodkin is a member of the Accounting Standards Oversight Council of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
