Dow Jones Description

John W. Leahy started his first business in Danbury, CT in 1917. For over 89 years, the Leahy organization has been proud to serve the Danbury area and beyond, through multiple companies and in numerous markets. Leahy's fuel oil business started in 1928 with the addition of the propane business in the early 1930s. At that time, many homeowners were attracted to propane's convenience, and they converted from coal and wood to this efficient means of heating their homes. We have evolved into a company that utilizes the latest in state-of-the-art, high efficiency heating equipment and high-tech, on-board computers in our service and delivery trucks. While still owned by the same local family, we are proud to report that second and third generation employees are currently working for our companies.
