Starting with the unique artistry of its founder, Lee Middleton, the company is recognized by doll enthusiasts as the industry leader of vinyl collectible baby dolls. Every year, Middleton Doll introduces more than 100 new dolls in various skin tones, eye colors, hair colors, and sizes. Designed to look like real babies, each doll by Middleton Doll is sculpted by an award-winning doll artist who incorporates incredible detail into every crease, fold, and curve. Dolls by Middleton Doll set the standard for excellence. Lee Middleton sculpted her first dolls to look like her own two children, and soon, relatives and friends asked Lee to sculpt dolls that looked like their children. Word spread quickly about Lee's talent and she soon found herself in charge of an unexpected "cottage industry." Supply and demand forced Lee to continuously find larger locations for production. In 1989, Lee opened a manufacturing facility in Belpre, Ohio. The facility produced more baby dolls a year than any other manufacturer in America, and the Mayor of Belpre declared the city to be "The Baby Doll Capital of the World." In 1985, the doll community not only embraced Lee's creations, but also nominated her unique work for national awards. Pat Moulton has been an artist for as long as she can remember, with oil painting, drawing and sculpting to her credit. She is a self-taught artist learning by trial and error. She is always open to learning and strives for the best so that she can give her very best to others. She comes from a family of artists. Her grandmother was an artist, an aunt and uncle as well as her mother. It was just in the cards that art would be her career. As a young person, Pat's first career was a licensed hair stylist and salon owner. She then had three children and four grandchildren with a great supporting husband by her side to make sculpting her career. Pat Moulton invented the Perfect Eye Tool to help other sculptors as well as the Head armature. She has many published articles on how to sculpt. She also teaches others in a classroom setting on how to sculpt. She is always willing to share the art of sculpting with others. Pat Moulton has many awards to her credit including DOTY Industry's Choice awards, and the Dolls of Excellence award.
