John H. Martinson founded Edison Venture Fund in 1986. He is EdisonVenture's principal Partner and has been a venture capitalist for over 20 years. A director of twelve companies, John specializes in computer software/services and electronic systems. Previously, John has served on the Board of Directors of 35 companies in diverse businesses such as application and system software, computer services, integrated circuits, electronic connectors, medical equipment, office automation and scientific instrumentation. He contributes expertise in marketing and business planning and has participated in more than 150 equity financings. John is Chairman of the National Venture Capital Association and a founder and former Chairman of the New Jersey Technology Council. He has served as Chairman of the Philadelphia and New Jersey Venture Fairs. John is a frequent speaker at entrepreneurial events and financing seminars.

Michael is a Managing General Partner at VenGrowth Private Equity Partners Inc. and one of the four original founders of VenGrowth's retail funds. He is one of three partners who are on the VenGrowth Operating Committee, which oversees the day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives of VenGrowth. With more than 11 years of experience as a venture capitalist and eight years as an investment banker, Michael is able to assist investees with funding requirements and coach them through their growth phases. Many of the companies Michael has overseen have exited through successful acquisitions, such as PixStream and Cambrian Systems Corporation, or have gone public such as Tundra Semiconductor Corporation (TSX: TUN). Michael has served as a member of the board of directors of many past and present VenGrowth investee companies, including Longview Solutions Inc. and Sandvine Incorporated. He routinely contributes his expertise in setting strategic direction, developing operating budgets, recruiting management, and developing financing and exit strategies. He has also helped turn around a number of companies in the VenGrowth portfolio. Before joining VenGrowth, Michael co-founded a corporate finance firm. Previously, he was a member of the Corporate Finance Department of Nesbitt Thomson Deacon Inc., a large investment dealer. Michael is currently a Board Member of the Canadian Venture Capital Association. Michael holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Chicago.
