Luther King Capital Management (LKCM) was founded as a registered investment advisory firm by Luther King in 1979 with an initial client located in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to forming LKCM, Mr. King was a director of Lionel D. Edie and managed its office in Dallas, Texas, until the sale of that firm in December 1978. LKCM currently has eight shareholders, all of whom are active employees within the firm. Mr. King serves as the President of the firm and oversees decisions regarding the firm's investment strategy and client investments. As of March 31, 2007, LKCM had fifty-five employees, including twenty-seven investment professionals with many educational and professional designations, including CFA, MBA, and CPA. LKCM has grown primarily through referrals from existing clients, consultants, banks, and investment professionals. The firm provides investment advisory services to high net worth individuals, foundations, endowments, investment companies, pension and profit sharing plans, trusts and estates, and other organizations. As of March 31, 2007, LKCM had approximately $7.4 billion in assets under management. LKCM's business strategy is focused on managing equity and fixed income portfolios for clients.
