We could not have cloned a better European chief of global development and research than Chris: the smarts, the soul, the artistic talent, it's all there in the eclectic mix, a la PortiCo. Born and raised in France, Chris was a psychology student at Paris VII University when she fell in love with Afro American Jazz culture. Soon after she decided to come to New York and perform with her saxophone at the likes of "Small's Paradise," one of that city's few remaining legendary clubs. A woman of many interests, Chris is fascinated by the process of bringing creativity to business and new ventures. In fact, she spoke the dot-com patois before any of us could spell it. Her first involvement with new-media started in 1994 when she joined Gaumont, a leading movie producer and distributor as Director of its Multimedia Studio. She says the stress of coordinating vast projects with severely tight deadlines, traveling worldwide, negotiating global deals with North American and Asian partners - and managing a staff of a hundred creative and free spirited people did a lot for her interest in long-distance running and rock climbing. In 1997, Chris started 9A+ Conseils, her own consulting business in New Media, while finishing an MBA at ESCP/EAP, one of the leading business schools in Europe. She has since initiated and facilitated many think tank groups on the merging of media, inviting as guest speakers CEOs from major companies such as Vivendi Universal, Business Object, Lycos, or Yahoo.
