A guiding force for Macerich who has helped position the company as one of the nation's leading shopping center REITs, President Edward C. Coppola has broad oversight of Macerich's strategic direction. Previously in his long-term role as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for Macerich, Mr. Coppola over three decades helped grow the company's portfolio, establish it as a public company and create its national footprint. As President, Mr. Coppola continues to guide the company's financial resources and key lender and investor relationships, and collaborates with the critical spheres of legal, leasing and overall management of Macerich. As well, he continues to oversee acquisitions and dispositions, department store relations and the company's important development/redevelopment strategy across the country. Mr. Coppola, a native of Des Moines, Iowa, holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and a Juris Doctorate from Drake University. He is a member of the Real Estate Roundtable in Washington, D.C., in addition to his frequent contributions to key industry panels and conferences.

Larry E. Sidwell is Executive Vice President, Real Estate for Macerich. Mr. Sidwell has over 30 years of experience in department store and mall real estate. Charles McPhee joined Macerich in 2007 as senior vice president of development. An expert in large-scale urban redevelopment and adaptive reuse projects, Mr. McPhee is involved in development and redevelopment projects that integrate a diverse mix of uses, such as future master-planned ground-up developments and non-traditional retail developments. Prior to joining Macerich, Mr. McPhee served as executive vice president of national real estate development for Catellus Development Corporation. Following the 2005 merger of Catellus and Prologis, Mr. McPhee assumed responsibility for real estate development of Prologis' western United States portfolio. Mr. McPhee has played a leadership role in high-profile projects such as the Mission Bay urban redevelopment in downtown San Francisco, and the redevelopments of California's Los Angeles Air Force Base and the Kaiser Commerce Center.

Charles Waldron is Senior Vice President, Property Management for Macerich's East, Central and Arizona portfolio, including 41 regional shopping centers in some of the country's premier markets. A 30-year veteran of the shopping center industry, Mr. Waldron joined Macerich in 1978. He holds the Senior Certified Shopping Center Manager (SCSM) designation from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and is an active member of the organization's professional development initiatives. He has served ICSC in past Committee memberships and is a frequent speaker and instructor for the organization's ongoing professional development. He currently serves as the Associate Dean for the 2008 University of Shopping Centers. Mr. Waldron graduated from Belhaven College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and currently resides with his wife in St. Louis.

As senior vice president of asset management, Mr. Short's 20 years of industry experience with Macerich has included the positions of marketing director, general manager, and vice president of property management. Doug Healey oversees strategic leasing for Macerich's East and Central regions, as well as the four luxury retail destination's in the company's Arizona portfolio. Included in the properties for which Mr. Healey directs merchandising are three of the highest-performing centers in the industry Queens Center in New York, Tysons Corner Center in Virginia and Scottsdale Fashion Square in Arizona. Mr. Healey also directed leasing efforts for the lifestyle expansion of Freehold Raceway Mall, one of the largest and top-performing regional shopping centers in New Jersey. Mr. Healey has more than 20 years of expertise in retail merchandising and his career includes tenure with some of the most widely recognized commercial retail property owners and developers in the country. In 1991, he joined Wilmorite Properties as a leasing representative. In 2005, Mr. Healey assumed oversight of Macerich's East Coast leasing operations following the company's acquisition of the Wilmorite portfolio. Current development and redevelopment projects under Mr. Healey's oversight include Biltmore Fashion Park, Cross County Shopping Center, Danbury Fair Mall, Freehold Raceway Mall and Scottsdale Fashion Square. A member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Mr. Healey graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a bachelor's degree in finance and accounting. He received his Master of Business Administration in economics and finance from the University of Rochester's Simon School of Business.

As Senior Vice President of Asset Management, Eric Salo oversees the company’s real estate portfolio performance and joint venture partner relationships with institutional co-investors. Mr. Salo also directs Macerich’s Business Development program, which develops ancillary revenue opportunities through premier, nationally-recognized brand partners. He also plays an active role in identifying and cultivating professional talent with the company.
Mr. Salo’s prior assignment was as head of Strategic Planning and was responsible for identifying, developing and implementing strategies to meet the objectives of the company’s executive team. He joined Macerich in 1987 and worked from 1989 to 2000 in the company's acquisitions group.
Mr. Salo is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, serves on the board of The Wellness Community – West Los Angeles a non-profit organization providing cancer support and education, and directs a tuition assistance program through The Seattle Foundation.
He was awarded his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington.

As Senior Vice President, Business Development, Ken Volk is in charge of all facets of the company’s alternative revenue strategy, including leveraging the company’s portfolio and aggregating its demand for products and services to create new business partnerships. This includes partnerships in marketing, media, technology, procurement and overall property operations.
Prior to his arrival, Mr. Volk was Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications of The Mills Corporation where he was the chief officer responsible for the company’s marketing, advertising, communications, research, strategic partnerships and Mills TV.
Mr. Volk also served Simon Property Group prior his appointment at The Mills Corporation as Senior Vice President of Shopping Center Marketing. In this role, Mr. Volk oversaw the development and execution of long-range strategic marketing plans for Simon’s shopping center portfolio, maintaining corporate direction while customizing strategies to meet the needs of individual markets. In this capacity, he also managed Simon’s strategic relationships with such major corporations as the Pepsi-Cola Company, JC Decaux, and Visa. Mr. Volk was instrumental in the creation and execution of various marketing initiatives designed to drive affinity to strategic partner brands among Simon’s customer base.
Prior to his work as Senior Vice President of Shopping Center Marketing, Mr. Volk served as Vice President of Business Development of Simon Brand Ventures, a strategic business initiative of Simon Property Group, Inc. where he was responsible for the creation of initiatives aimed at interacting with shoppers at the point-of-sale through live, multi-media formats, and as Divisional Vice President of Marketing of Simon Property Group, where he was responsible for the marketing strategies of more than 65 regional Simon malls.
Prior to his tenure at Simon Property Group, Mr. Volk served at both the Meadowlands Sports Complex and Walt Disney World.

Ken Gillett is Senior Vice President, Property Management for Macerich's Western portfolio, which includes the company's Southern California, Northern California and Pacific Northwest properties. With his keen retailer perspective as a foundation, Mr. Gillett transitioned to the operational and development side of the retail industry. Mr. Gillett's career includes positions in specialty leasing, operations and property management. Mr. Gillett received his Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) designation from ICSC in 1995 and his Senior Certified Shopping Center Manager (SCSM) designation in 2004. He graduated from the University of LaVerne with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and currently resides with his wife and two children in Glendora, Calif.

As senior vice president of leasing for Macerich, Michael Nevins co-manages the leasing activities of Macerich's East Coast portfolio of shopping centers. Notably, he led the company's leasing efforts for the merchandising and leasing of the 500,000-square-foot expansion of Tysons Corner Center, which opened in October 2005. Mr. Nevins also manages leasing strategies and the leasing process for the comprehensive redevelopment and expansion of Cross County Shopping Center in Westchester County in New York and The Shops at North Bridge, Macerich's newest acquisition anchoring the Magnificent Mile in Chacago. Mr. Nevins also manages merchandising strategies and the leasing process for key projects in Macerich's Arizona and luxury portfolio, including the expansion of Scottsdale Fashion Square, the redevelopment of Biltmore Fashion Square and the ground-up development of a distinctive new project in affluent North Scottsdale One Scottsdale. Additionally, Mr. Nevins oversees leasing for La Encantada in Tucson and Kierland Commons in Scottsdale. Prior to joining Macerich, Mr. Nevins served as vice president and regional director of leasing for Wilmorite, Inc. He began his professional career as a sales representative with IBM and then went on to be the senior leasing representative for The Pyramid Companies in Syracuse, N.Y. Mr. Nevins graduated from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. He is married with two children and coaches youth baseball in his spare time. Mr. Nevins also is a board member of Teavana Corporation, a past Board of Trustee for the Manlius Public Library, and is a member of Onondaga Golf & Country Club.

As Senior Vice President of National Leasing Services and Retailer Relations, Tom Unis works to effectively guide and deploy Macerich's strategic in-house resources to provide counsel and support for the Leasing, Real Estate Service and Property Management teams. As senior vice president of strategic marketing for Macerich, Traci Weber is responsible for developing, evolving and managing the brand positioning for the company. She is also responsible for shaping communications with all key audiences, including employees, retailers, investors and consumers. Her strategic oversight extends to corporate and mall advertising campaigns, annual reports, retailer marketing, digital platforms and marketing plans for on-mall partners.
Weber’s background in shopping center marketing includes three years with Macerich, serving as brand manager for Westcor, Arizona’s leading shopping center developer, before moving on to become Vice President of Marketing. Prior to joining Westcor, she served as a marketing consultant for the company for five years, directing public relations strategy for many notable projects, including Chandler Fashion Center, La Encantada and the Westcor corporate brand.
A Chicago native, Weber began her career at Edelman Public Relations, where she managed public relations campaigns for many national consumer brands.
Weber graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Illinois Wesleyan University. She and her husband, David, have two children. Her leisure activities include tennis, writing and volunteering at her children’s school.
