Malaysia's finances spring forward with Maybank. Founded in 1960 and headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Malayan Banking Berhad (OTC: MLYBY) is Malaysia's largest bank and financial services firm. The bank has 334 domestic branches and 34 international branches. It offers consumer banking and merchant banking, deposits, mortgages, lending, credit cards, investments, brokerage, asset management, insurance, and more. It has been Malaysia's dominant bank for well over thirty years, and is expanding its Islamic banking services. The company has annual revenue of about $2.7 billion and employs about 21,800 people. In December 2005 the bank completed its purchase of 74.24% stake in MNI Holdings Berhad, holding company of Malaysia National Insurance and Takaful Nasional.
