Dr. James Truchard, National Instruments president and CEO, cofounded the company in 1976 while working at The University of Texas at Austin. Under Truchard's leadership, National Instruments has pioneered the development of virtual instrumentation software and hardware that has revolutionized the way engineers approach measurement and automation applications. In 1986, Truchard and Jeff Kodosky invented LabVIEW graphical development software. With LabVIEW, engineers and scientists can quickly and intuitively build a customer-defined solution for measurement and automation. The intuitive graphical environment of LabVIEW revolutionized the way engineers and scientists work, much like the spreadsheet provided a new way for financial professionals to do their jobs. He is a member and former chairman of the Engineering Foundation Advisory Council, works closely with The University of Texas at Austin as a member of the Chancellor's Council, and is a former member of the university's Electrical and Computer Engineering Visiting Committee. He is a founding member of the Austin Software Council and was a member of Texas Governor Rick Perry's Advisory Council on the Digital Economy. Truchard also is an active supporter of the NI LEGO® MINDSTORMS® program, which, in conjunction with Tufts University and the Pitsco LEGO Educational Division, seeks to introduce students from kindergarten through high school to basic engineering and computing skills. In 2005, Governor Perry asked Truchard to chair the Texas Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Industry Advisory Council, which directly addresses the declining interest and preparation of young people to pursue careers in technical fields. Before founding NI, Truchard worked as managing director of the acoustical measurements division at Applied Research Laboratories at The University of Texas at Austin. Truchard holds a doctorate in electrical engineering, as well as a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in physics, all from The University of Texas at Austin.

As senior vice president of sales and marketing, Pete Zogas is responsible for maximizing the effectiveness of National Instruments worldwide sales, marketing, and product marketing organizations. He was instrumental in the company's 29 years of growth in its 30-year history and helped establish the NI worldwide direct sales model, which now includes serving more than 25,000 companies. NI customers range from cutting-edge startups developing the next scientific breakthrough to global FORTUNE 500 firms doing business in the Americas and emerging markets in Asia and Eastern Europe. In identifying and prioritizing the needs of this diverse group of customers, Zogas has helped lead the NI technical sales team to deliver the right level of service. As part of his focus on customer success, Zogas led a major initiative to establish technical partners that share the company's passion for virtual instrumentation, helping create National Instruments highly successful Alliance Program, which is now more than 500 partners strong. Zogas joined NI in 1985 and has held several positions with the company, including national sales manager, business development manager, regional sales manager, and sales engineer. Before coming to NI, Zogas worked as a design engineer for Texas Instruments and worked in the bipolar semiconductor sector at AT&T. He is a coholder of a multichip packaging patent issued in 1986 and received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Zogas also actively participates in community organizations such as The Lake Travis Youth Association, the LEGO MINDSTORMS Classroom Mentor program, and Friends of Alex - a University of Texas College of Engineering scholarship fund.

"Alex Davern, CFO and senior vice president of manufacturing and IT operations, leads National Instruments global manufacturing organization and manages the company's finance and internal technology functions worldwide. Since joining NI in 1994, Davern has set the highest ethical standards for the company’s financial reporting. During Davern's tenure, the company has consistently invested in meeting the long-term needs of its customers and shareholders. As part of this investment, NI continued to grow its R&D department through the economic downturn in 2001, helping the company quickly gain market share by releasing a record number of new products and outperforming its industry during this time. Davern also was instrumental in opening the company's first overseas manufacturing facility in Hungary, which delivered millions of dollars in cost savings to both NI and its customers around the globe. Davern also led efforts to improve the efficiency of the company’s growing product and administrative operations in Europe and Ireland by restructuring the company's entire business process in Europe, taking advantage of the opportunities made available by the new common market. He also guided the launch of the company's worldwide Oracle ERP system, which today tracks hundreds of thousands of sales transactions each year and has dramatically improved the company's customer service and market share. Davern is recognized throughout the industry as an expert in the areas of corporate finance and executive leadership. He is chairman of the American Electronics Association (AeA) committee on the reform of Sarbanes-Oxley 404and a member of the NASDAQ Sarbanes-Oxley 404 workgroup, and he also serves on the advisory board for The University of Texas Executive MBA program. He formerly served on the board of directors of SigmaTel Inc. (NASDAQ) and is a former member of the Securities and Exchange Commissions' Advisory Committee on Smaller Public Companies. Before joining NI, Davern worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Europe and the United States. He joined NI in 1994 as the company's corporate controller and served as the company's CFO from 1997 to 2002, when he was promoted to his current position overseeing finance, IT, and manufacturing. Davern holds an undergraduate degree in business studies and a post-graduate diploma in professional accounting from University College of Dublin. He is a former member of both the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Irish Society of Chartered Accountants."

"As the vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary for National Instruments, David Hugley serves as a member of the NI executive leadership team, assisting with setting and implementing the company's overall strategic direction and advising the CEO and executive leaders. Hugley serves in a hands-on, proactive role, managing the legal department; coordinating a broad range of legal, contractual, and administrative matters; and counseling on the business and legal ramifications of significant strategic imperatives, including numerous acquisitions and other investments. Hugley is also actively engaged in corporate and securities law in the United States and internationally. An important aspect of Hugley's role involves leading intellectual property (IP) lawyers to proactively work with the engineering department to identify new technologies and act to protect these assets. This includes the development of IP through R&D in China, Germany, India, Romania, and the United States. More than 450 patents worldwide have been issued to NI during Hugley's tenure. Since joining NI in 1991, Hugley has identified risk and developed risk mitigation strategies globally, managing the company's administrative and legal obligations in creating branch offices, R&D facilities, and manufacturing sites in more than 40 countries. In 1995, Hugley played a key role in transitioning NI from a privately owned business to a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ stock exchange. In 2001, he was pivotal in establishing the company's first overseas manufacturing facility in Hungary. Hugley was promoted to his current role as a vice president in 2003.Today, Hugley and his team have proven their problem-solving skills around the globe by negotiating and structuring contracts for sales and distribution, resolving disputes, and participating in developing best practices and processes for use across the world. Hugley received a bachelor's degree in finance and his degree in jurisprudence from The University of Texas at Austin."

"As vice president of marketing and customer operations, John Graff plays a critical role in the National Instruments virtual instrumentation revolution. He directs an integrated team of marketing and sales professionals who are focused on educating a worldwide audience of engineers and scientists about the cost and time savings of computer-based measurement and automation. Graff combines both the creative and technical resources of his marketing staff to communicate the benefits of NI software and hardware products, which work seamlessly with standard PC technologies. By integrating these activities with those of the NI customer operations team, Graff maximizes NI effectiveness and efficiency when managing product inquiries from more than 25,000 customer accounts worldwide. One of Graff's responsibilities is looking for new ways to leverage the power of the World Wide Web. In 1994, he played an instrumental role in launching ni.com and since then has helped the company establish innovative online services that not only help customers choose the right product, but also assist them in quickly making their purchases online. Another innovative feature of ni.com is NI Developer Zone, an online community where engineers and scientists can share their own experiences with virtual instrumentation. NI Developer Zone provides customers with access to the latest information about data acquisition, motion control, measurement techniques, and more. Graff recently led the effort to redesign and globalize ni.com. The site is now localized in nine different languages, including English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Today, ni.com receives almost 18 million visits annually and is consistently recognized as one of the top Web sites for engineers and scientists. In addition to direct communication with customers, Graff has fostered worldwide relationships with publishers and editors of trade journals and magazines. Both trade editors and financial journalists alike regularly note the success and growth of NI and its management team. Graff also has worked with technology giants to forge partnerships with companies such as Analog Devices, Intel, Microsoft, and Texas Instruments. Because of these efforts, NI has identified product road maps and developed products that integrate with technology partner companies in order to benefit the customer. Graff also focuses his technological expertise in the education of area youth as a board member of the Austin Children's Museum. As vice president of human resources, Mark Finger works closely with the company's management team to foster a productive working environment through the development of systems to recruit and retain the "best and brightest" employees on a worldwide basis. Through these systems, National Instruments has become recognized globally as a preferred employer.

"As vice president of developer and academic relations at National Instruments, Ray Almgren leads third-party developer relations for NI along with the company's worldwide academic relations program. During his 21 years at NI, Almgren has held positions in marketing, R&D, and applications engineering. His most recent roles include vice president of product strategy, director of R&D for the measurements product group, and director of software marketing. As director of software marketing, Almgren helped guide the NI LabVIEW product family to its industry-leading position in measurement and automation. He also helped establish NIWeek, the company's worldwide conference on graphical system design. Throughout his career at NI, Almgren has devoted significant effort to enhancing science and engineering education and inspiring students to pursue technical careers. He pioneered many of the company's academic and university relations programs, including adaptation of LabVIEW as the software that powers the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® NXT robotics invention system. Almgren currently is a member and former chair of the Texas Engineering and Technical Consortium and chairs the National Experimental Physic and Industrial Control System (EPICS) Program Advisory Council at Purdue University. He also serves on the University of Texas (UT) College of Natural Sciences Advisory Board; the School of Engineering Executive Board at Southern Methodist University; the Advisory Committee for the Tufts University Center for Engineering Education and Outreach; and the External Advisory Committee for the Department of Electrical and Computing Engineering at UT Austin. In 2004, Almgren was named an Outstanding Young Engineering Graduate of UT, an honor bestowed upon individuals age 40 and under for distinguished contributions in the realms of professional accomplishment, community service, and service to the UT school of engineering. In 2005, he was a recipient of the Outstanding Young Texas Ex Award presented by the Texas Exes, the UT alumni association. Almgren serves as vice president and sits on the board of directors for the National Instruments Foundation, a private foundation focused on science and engineering education and research. Almgren graduated from UT Austin in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He and his wife, Lisa, reside in Austin, Texas, with their three daughters, Sarah, Melissa, and Rebecca."

As vice president of manufacturing, Rob Porterfield oversees the National Instruments worldwide manufacturing organization, including purchasing, production, and operations. In his current role, Porterfield directs team efforts on continuously improving customer satisfaction, lowering material costs, improving production efficiency, reducing quoted product lead times, and managing inventory levels. Porterfield led efforts in 2001 to open the first NI production facility in Hungary, which went from ground breaking to production in just four months and has delivered millions of dollars in cost savings to both NI and its customers around the globe. Prior to his work in Hungary, Porterfield led the creation of a software duplication center in Ireland and repair centers in Europe and Japan. In addition, Porterfield has worked closely with the purchasing and production planning teams to increase efficiencies in NI global supply chains. He implemented centralized distribution centers in Europe and Asia and an advance planning system worldwide that resulted in a 10 percent reduction in quoted product delivery times and a 20 percent decrease in materials cost over two years. Under his leadership, the company has seen record customer satisfaction ratings and on-time delivery rates. Porterfield joined NI in 1993 as warehousing supervisor. He has since held the positions of materials manager, planning manager, director of international operations and global planning, and director of international operations and global supply chain. Prior to his work at NI, Porterfield was a design engineer at General Dynamics. He holds a master's degree in business administration from The University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from Auburn University.

Charlie Knapp, Senior District Sales Manager - Charlie completed an MSEE at Columbia University, and spent eight years at AlliedSignal (now Honeywell) in Morristown, NJ prior to working for National Instruments. He has been with National Instruments eight years helping customers find solutions using National Instruments gear.

Steven Lysohir is a systems analyst at National Instruments. His primary focus is on managing, supporting, and automating six Perforce servers in five different countries, with over 1000 developers worldwide. While new to this field, he has played a key role in the global development of NI's SCM solution. When not in the office, Lysohir can be found at the local watering hole enjoying the band of the night, or at the local swimming hole chasing down his two dogs. Lysohir will cover Perforce Backup Architecture and Disaster Recovery at National Instruments.

Charles J. Roesslein has been a member of the NI Board of Directors since July 2000. Since 2004, Mr. Roesslein has been chief executive officer of Austin Tele-Services, LLC, which is in the secondary market for telecom and IT assets. During 2000, Mr. Roesslein served as the chairman of the board of directors and president of Prodigy Communications Corporation, an Internet service provider. He served as president of SBC-CATV, a cable television service provider, from 1999 until 2000, and as president of SBC Technology Resources, the applied research division of SBC Communications Inc., from 1997 until 1999. Prior to 1997, Mr. Roesslein served in executive officer positions with SBC Communications and Southwestern Bell. Mr. Roesslein holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a master’s degree in finance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Mr. Roesslein is currently a director of Atlantic Tele-Network, Inc., a publicly traded company.

Duy-Loan T. Le has been a member of the NI Board of Directors since September 2002. During her continuing 25-year career at Texas Instruments Inc. (TI), in 2002, Ms. Le became the first woman at TI elected to the rank of senior fellow. Since 2000, she has been digital signal processor (DSP) advanced technology ramp manager at TI, with responsibilities that include assisting with product execution on advanced technology nodes such as 180nm, 130nm, 90nm, 65nm, and 42nm. Ms. Le has been awarded 22 patents and has eight pending applications. She holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from UT Austin and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Houston.

"NI Business and Technology Fellow, Jeff Kodosky, cofounded National Instruments with Dr. James Truchard and William Nowlin in 1976 while working at The University of Texas at Austin. Today, he is a respected mentor in the NI global R&D organization and continues to chart new directions for the company's flagship product, the NI LabVIEW graphical development platform. Kodosky, revered by engineers and scientists around the world as the ""father of LabVIEW,"" invented the graphical programming language that defines the software, spurring the development and widespread adoption of virtual instrumentation and making instrument automation available to all engineers. Since the initial release of LabVIEW in 1986, Kodosky has developed more than 30 patented LabVIEW technologies and has used his LabVIEW expertise to help guide the development and expansion of LabVIEW to targets previously out of reach for many engineers, such as field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), smart sensors, microcontrollers, and other embedded devices. This ongoing work has helped NI grow this software into an award-winning industry standard programming environment that continuously addresses an ever-growing variety of industries and application areas. Kodosky is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). In addition to his work at NI, Kodosky dedicates a large amount of his time to working with community and academic organizations. He serves on the University of Texas College of Natural Sciences Advisory Council and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Board of Trustees, and is a member of the Advisory Group for the math department at Texas State University. In 1999, Kodosky received the University of Texas, College of Natural Sciences Hall of Honor Award, and in 2004, he was honored with the Albert Fox Demers Medal from the alumni association at RPI. He has worked closely with The University of Texas at Austin, investing a significant amount of time and money to help create UTeach, an innovative and challenging program that prepares students in the College of Natural Sciences to become math and science teachers. He also has played a key role in the creation of the NI Endowed Scholarship for Excellence at The University of Texas at Austin College of Natural Sciences, which each year recognizes an outstanding student who demonstrates proficiency in computing or laboratory measurement skills. In addition to his involvement with academia, Kodosky also supports performing arts in Austin. Kodosky became vice president of NI in 1978 and later served as vice president of R&D from 1980 until he was named an NI Business and Technology Fellow in 2000. Kodosky received his bachelor's degree in physics from RPI in Troy, New York."

John K. Medica has been a member of the NI Board of Directors since May 2008. Mr. Medica retired as senior vice president and coleader for the product group at Dell Inc. in April 2007. In 1993, he joined Dell as vice president of portable systems and, during 1996, he served as president and chief operating officer of Dell’s Japan division. He returned to the United States in August 1997 as vice president of procurement and later served as vice president of the Web products group as well as vice president and general manager of the transactional product group. Prior to joining Dell, he served as project leader for the Macintosh II, director of the Macintosh CPU projects group, and senior director of PowerBook engineering with Apple Inc. Mr. Medica received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Manhattan College and his master’s degree in business administration from Wake Forest University.

Ben G. Streetman, PhD, has been a member of the Company's Board of Directors since 1997. He is the dean of the College of Engineering at UT-Austin, as well as professor of electrical and computer engineering, the Dula D. Cockrell Centennial Chair in Engineering, and the Henry E. Singleton Research Fellow at IC2 Institute. From 1984 to 1996, Dr. Streetman served as director of the Microelectronics Research Center at UT-Austin. Dr. Streetman received his bachelor's and master's degrees and doctorate in electrical engineering at UT-Austin. Dr. Streetman is currently a director of Zix Corporation (formerly CustomTracks Corporation).

Donald M. Carlton, PhD, has been a member of the Company's Board of Directors since 1994. From February 1996 until December 1998, Dr. Carlton served as the president and CEO of Radian International LLC, and from 1969 until January 1996, Dr. Carlton served as president and chairman of the Board of Radian Corporation, both of which are environmental engineering firms. Dr. Carlton received his bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of St. Thomas and his doctorate in chemistry from UT-Austin. Dr. Carlton is currently a director of the publicly traded companies American Electric Power, Trustee of SmithBarney/CITI Mutual Funds (26 Funds), and Temple-Inland, Inc.
