David Briscoe joined Protherics in November 2004 to build Protherics' commercial activities within the EU. He joins the company after spending over 25 years in sales and operational roles, mainly in oncology, with companies such as Chiron, Bristol Myers, Schering Plough and Incyte.
Nicholas J. Hart has joined Emisphere Technologies, Inc. as vice president of strategy and development. In this capacity, Mr. Hart will be responsible for the planning and commercial development aspects of the company's Eligen technology. Mr. Hart joins the company with more than 16 years of commercial experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Most recently, he was leader of the Contraception Therapy Area and a member of the corporate executive leadership team for Organon, recently acquired by Schering Plough.
Mr. Medeiros joined AVI in May 2009 and brings more than 17 years experience in pharmaceutical and biotechnology business development. He most recently served as Vice President, Global Licensing and Strategic Alliances for Schering-Plough, where he led worldwide specialty product licensing and strategic partnering initiatives. Medeiros joined Schering-Plough in 1996 as marketing planning director, and subsequently held senior positions of increasing responsibility in marketing and business development. Prior to Schering-Plough, Medeiros was employed by Merck & Company, where he held positions in Field Sales, New Product Planning and Worldwide Human Health Marketing. Medeiros holds an A.B. with honors from Brown University and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. He is a member of the Licensing Executives Society and the American Marketing Association.
Rodney W. Unsworth is group vice president and president, Asia-Pacific Region, of Schering-Plough Corporation.
Unsworth has held various senior level international management roles in the pharmaceutical industry with Asia-Pacific and Australian companies. Before joining Schering-Plough, he was actively involved in assisting small medical research-based companies, including ObjectiVision Pty. Ltd. and BioDiem Ltd. in Australia, to commercialize their innovation potential. Prior to this position, he served as regional president, Asia-Pacific Region, for the former Pharmacia Corporation.

Ismail Kola, Ph.D., is senior vice president, Discovery Research, Schering-Plough Research Institute, the pharmaceutical research arm of Schering-Plough Corporation, and Chief Scientific Officer, Schering Plough Corporation.
Kola is responsible for a team of 1,800 people at the company's discovery, translational and early clinical research sites in New Jersey, California, Massachusetts, Milan, Italy; Glasgow, Scotland; Oss, the Netherlands and Singapore. He is also responsible for Early Clinical Research and Experimental Medicine.
Kola came to Schering-Plough in March 2007 from Merck, where he was most recently senior vice president and site head, Basic Research, and was responsible for atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, obesity, infectious diseases, immunology and rheumatology, animal pharmacology and basic and medicinal chemistry. He also chaired Merck's Antibacterial and Antifungal Worldwide Business Strategy Team. Prior to that, he was vice president, Research, and global head, Genomics Science and Biotechnology, with Pharmacia Corporation, and served as a consultant to SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, where he was also a member of the Genomics Advisory Board.
He holds adjunct professorships of medicine at Washington University, St Louis, Mo., and Monash University Medical School, Melbourne, Australia; a foreign adjunct professorship at The Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden; and is a William Pitt Fellow at Pembroke College, Cambridge University, UK. He has had four drugs come to market under his leadership in the industry; several others are currently under review with regulatory authorities and in late-stage development. He has authored approximately 160 publications and is the recipient of many international research prizes.
Kola holds a Ph.D. in medicine from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

Karl D. Salnoske is vice president and chief information officer of Schering-Plough Corporation.
Salnoske is responsible for directing the planning, acquisition, development and operation of computer, telecommunication and information systems for all corporate and divisional offices. He is also responsible for establishing the technical infrastructure and setting strategic guidelines for use of information systems technology throughout the company.
Salnoske joined the company in November 2004 from Adaptive Trade, where he was president and chief executive officer. Prior to this position, he served as general manager, software solutions, and as vice president, global services, at IBM. Throughout his career, Salnoske has held leadership positions with increasing responsibility at McKinsey & Co., Telenet, Xerox and Exxon.
Salnoske holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, Va., where he serves on the advisory board for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Robert Bertolini is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Schering-Plough Corporation.
Bertolini joined Schering-Plough in his present position in November 2003. He is responsible for building a dynamic global finance team that comprises key financial areas, including taxes, accounting, internal audits, financial asset management, external financial relations, investments for employee benefit plans, and risk management and insurance. Additionally, he has responsibility for global information technology and business development.
In his previous role at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Bertolini managed the global pharmaceutical industry practice. He has extensive experience in audit, financial controls and corporate governance as well as in acting as a senior adviser to top management on financial and general business issues, including licensing and M&A transactions. Bertolini began his professional career at the former Coopers & Lybrand in 1983 and rose steadily through the company's professional ranks, serving blue-chip global clients in the pharmaceutical industry.
Bertolini graduated with a B.A. degree in economics from Rutgers University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
Robert J. Spiegel, M.D., FACP, is Chief Medical Officer and senior vice president at Schering-Plough Research Institute, the pharmaceutical research arm of Schering-Plough Corporation. Dr. Spiegel has direct responsibility for Global Pharmacovigilance and Clinical Quality Management systems.
He is chair of Schering-Plough's Clinical & Preclinical Safety Surveillance Committee (CPSSC). Prior to his current position, Dr. Spiegel was senior vice president, Clinical Research.
Dr. Spiegel has published more than 70 scientific papers and serves on the board of directors of Cancer Care, Inc. and the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. He has special research interest in biological approaches to cancer therapy. Dr. Spiegel received a B.A. at Yale University and an M.D. at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a fellowship in medical oncology at the National Cancer Institute, NIH. Before joining Schering Corporation in 1983, he served as director of the Developmental Therapeutics Program at New York University Cancer Center and as assistant professor at New York University Medical Center (Department of Medicine). He remains an adjunct assistant professor at NYU.

Ian McInnes, Ph.D., is senior vice president and president, Global Supply Chain (GSC), for Schering-Plough Corporation.
McInnes joined Schering-Plough as senior vice president, Global Supply Chain, in May 2004. In his present position, he is responsible for the supply of products to Schering-Plough's customers worldwide, including human prescription medicines as well as animal health and consumer health care products. Dr. Jensen received his M.D. degree from the University of Copenhagen Medical School. He completed training in internal medicine and neurology at the University Clinic, Department of Hematology and Department of Neurology, Hvidovre Hospital in Copenhagen. He was awarded a research fellowship from the Danish Medical Research Council. Dr. Jensen has been published extensively. A registered M.D. in the European Union, Sweden and Norway, he is also a member of the Danish Medical Society, Danish Epilepsy Society, Danish Neurology Society and American Epilepsy Society.

Sean McNicholas is senior vice president, Cardiovascular Products and U.S. Sales, for the Global Pharmaceutical Business of Schering-Plough Corporation.
McNicholas chairs the U.S. Executive Team charged with delivery of the U.S. sales and profit targets. In this role, he has day-to-day management responsibility for the U.S. sales group. On a global basis, McNicholas is responsible for the cardiovascular portfolio at Schering-Plough, namely INTEGRILIN, an injectable IIb/IIIa antiplatelet drug, and the cholesterol management therapies ezetimibe (ZETIA) and ezetimibe/simvastatin (VYTORIN), both part of a joint venture with Merck & Co., Inc., in Europe and the U.S. In Japan, McNicholas represents Schering-Plough with ezetimibe (ZETIA) as part of a joint venture with the Bayer Corp. In addition, McNicholas co-chairs the Cardiovascular and Metabolic Discovery and Development Team and leads commercial implementation plans for the corporation's pipeline projects. He is Schering-Plough's representative at PhRMA.
McNicholas joined Schering-Plough in 2002 as vice president, Marketing, with responsibility for Schering-Plough's allergy, respiratory and dermatological franchises. He came to Schering-Plough from SYN.X, Pharma Inc., Toronto, Canada, where he served as president and CEO. Previously, he held various sales, marketing and strategic planning positions with Eli Lilly and Pharmacia Corporation.
McNicholas holds a B.S. degree in environmental biology from Swansea University, Wales, Great Britain, and an M.S. degree in plant physiology from the University of Alberta, Canada.

Alex Kelly, R.Ph., is group vice president, Global Communications and Investor Relations, for Schering-Plough Corporation.
Kelly was named to his current position in October 2007 and is responsible on a global basis for Corporate External and Internal communications, Product Communications and Investor Relations. He is also responsible for communications related to the company's three core customer segments: Human Prescription Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Health Care and Animal Health. He joined Schering-Plough in April 2004 as vice president of Investor Relations.
Kelly has more than 18 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining Schering-Plough, Kelly was executive director of Investor Relations for Novartis Corporation. While at Novartis, he was based in Switzerland and focused on building relationships with European investors and analysts. Previously, Kelly was senior director of Investor Relations at Pharmacia Corporation. Prior to that assignment, he held a number of positions of increasing responsibility in Investor Relations and Sales at Pharmacia Corporation, Pharmacia & Upjohn and The Upjohn Company, where he began his career as a pharmaceutical sales representative.

Jeff Berkowitz is group vice president, Global Market Access and U.S. Managed Markets, for Schering-Plough Corporation.
In this role, Berkowitz leads Schering-Plough's market access activities worldwide for company products across the portfolio. Dennis Groves, a principal since 2000, is Chairman of Oliver Wight Americas as well as President of Oliver Wight International. He has more than 35 years of experience as a consultant and a practitioner and has worked with process and discrete manufacturers in consumer goods, foods, pharmaceuticals, and many other industries. Among his client companies are Solutia, Schick & Wilkinson Sword, Watson Pharmaceutical and Schering-Plough. He has taught numerous classes in Sales & Operations Planning, supplier planning and control, integrated planning and scheduling, data structures and bills of material, and inventory record accuracy. David Nicholson studied pharmacology and graduated from the universities of Manchester (BSc) and Wales (PhD) in the United Kingdom. Since 1978 he has been working in R&D in the Pharmaceutical Industry. After a period of employment at the Beecham Research site in Germany, he joined Organon in 1988. Originally employed as Head of Department of Pharmacology at Organon's Newhouse Research site, he moved to Oss in 1993 and has subsequently held a number of Management positions within the company, including Director of the Cardiovascular and CNS Drugs Programs and Head of Research, Oss. More recently David Nicholson served as Head of Global Research, responsible for Organon's Research worldwide. On February 1, 2006, he took up the position of Executive Vice President Research & Development. He is currently based in Oss, the Netherlands.
Helen Neese studied at the University of Missouri where she earned both her bachelor's and master's degree. She sits on advisory boards for AstraZeneca, Glaxo Wellcome, MGMA, Merck & Co., Ofstead & Associates, Organon, Roche Laboratories, Schering Plough, Searle Pharmaceuticals, TAP Pharmaceuticals, and Bayer Pharmaceuticals. Chris Pepler has over 20 years experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry. Dr. Kornberg has been a director since April of 1991. He is a distinguished author and researcher who was chairman and founder of the Department of Biochemistry at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Kornberg received the Nobel Prize in 1959 for his discovery of the enzymatic synthesis of DNA.
