Oswald J. Grübel was named UBS Group Chief Executive Officer (Group CEO) on 26 February 2009. Before joining UBS he was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Credit Suisse Group and of Credit Suisse and stepped down from this role in May 2007. He was CEO of Credit Suisse Financial Services from 2002 to 2004 and was additionally Co-CEO of Credit Suisse Group from 2003 until 2004. Mr. Grübel was a member of the Credit Suisse Group Executive Board (GEB) between 1997 and 2001 and again from 2002 to 2007. Robert Wolf was appointed President of the UBS Investment Bank in 2007 and was COO of the UBS Investment Bank from 2004 to 2008. Markus U. Diethelm was appointed Group General Counsel (Group GC) of UBS on 1 September 2008. From 1998 to 2008, he worked for Swiss Re. He started his career in 1983 with Bär & Karrer, a Zurich law firm. In 1988, he joined Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York as a foreign associate. As of 1989, he practiced with New York’s Shearman & Sterling, specializing in mergers and acquisitions. In 1992 he joined the Los Angeles-based law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, focusing on corporate matters, securities transactions, litigation and regulatory investigations while operating out of the firm’s Brussels and Paris offices. Mr. Diethelm holds a law degree from the University of Zurich and a Masters degree and PhD from the law school at Stanford University. Kaspar Villiger was elected to the Board of Directors (BoD) at the annual general meeting (AGM) held in 2009 and thereafter appointed Chairman of the BoD. He chairs the governance and nominating committee, the strategy and the corporate responsibility committee. Ann F. Godbehere was elected to the BoD at the AGM 2009. She is a member of the audit committee and of the corporate responsibility committee. Ann F. Godbehere was appointed CFO and executive director of Northern Rock in February 2008, serving in these roles during the initial phase of the business’ public ownership – she left at the end of January 2009. Prior to this role, she served as CFO of Swiss Re Group from 2003 to 2007. Ms. Godbehere was CFO of the Group’s Property and Casualty division in Zurich for two years, prior to serving as CFO of the Life & Health division in London for three years. From 1997 to 1998, Ms. Godbehere was CEO of Swiss Life & Health in Canada, before which, in 1996 and 1997, she was CFO of Swiss Life & Health, North America. Since 2003 she is a fellow of the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada. Ms. Godbehere was born on 14 April 1955. She is a citizen of both Canada and the UK.
Ann F. Godbehere is a non executive director of Prudential Plc. She is on the Board of the Lloyd’s managing agency Atrium Underwriters Group Ltd., which was acquired in 2007 by Ariel Holdings, the insurance company, of whose board she is also a member.
Bruno Gehrig was elected to the BoD at the EGM in October 2008. He is a member of the governance and nominating committee and of the human resources and compensation committee. Bruno Gehrig has been Chairman of Swiss Life Holding since 2003 and will resign on 7 May 2009 from this position. Between 1996 and 2003, he served at the Swiss National Bank, starting as a member of the governing board and becoming vice chairman in 2000. From 1992 to 1996, he was a professor of banking and finance at the University of St. Gallen and concurrently served as a member of the Swiss Federal Banking Commission (FINMA since 1 January 2009). Between 1989 and 1991, he held the position of CEO at Cantrade Private Banking Group. Mr. Gehrig worked for the former Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) between 1981 and 1989, where he started as chief economist before assuming responsibility for securities sales and trading. He studied economics at the University of Berne, where he also did his PhD studies. He completed postgraduate studies at the University of Rochester, New York. He was assistant professor at the University of Berne and received his Dr. h.c. from the University of Rochester, New York. Mr. Gehrig was born on 26 December 1946 and is a Swiss citizen.
Bruno Gehrig is the vice chairman of the BoD of Roche Holding AG, Basel, and the Chairman of the Swiss Air Transport Foundation, Zug.

David Sidwell was elected to the BoD at the AGM 2008. He chairs the risk committee and is a member of the strategy committee. David Sidwell was executive vice president and CFO of Morgan Stanley in New York between March 2004 and October 2007. Before joining Morgan Stanley he was with JPMorgan Chase & Co. He joined JPMorgan Chase & Co. in 1984 in New York where he held a number of different positions during his 20 years of service, including controller and CFO of the Investment Bank. Prior to this he was with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in both London and New York. Mr. Sidwell graduated from Cambridge University in England and is a chartered accountant qualifying in the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He was born on 28 March 1953 and is a citizen of both USA and the UK.
David Sidwell is a director of the Federal National Mortgage Association Fannie Mae. He is a trustee of the International Accounting Standards Committee Foundation, London and the Chairman of the BoD of Village Care of New York, a not-for-profit organization, as well as director of the National Council on Aging.
Dr. Panke joined the Microsoft Board as a nonexecutive director on Nov. 11, 2003. He also serves on the board of directors of UBS AG, Switzerland, the supervisory board of Bayer AG, and the advisory board of Global Strategic Equities Fund of Dubai International Capital LLC.
Dr. Panke has been with BMW Bayerische Motoren Werke AG since 1982 in a variety of positions and, from May 2002 through August 2006, served as Chairman of the Board of Management.
From 1999 to 2002, he served as Member of the Board of Management for Finance. From 1996 to 1999, Dr. Panke was Member of the Board of Management for Human Resources and Information Technology. In his role as Chairman and CEO of BMW (US) Holding Corp. from 1993 to 1996 he was responsible for the company's North American activities.

Joerg Wolle has been president and CEO of DKSH Holding Ltd. since 2002. From 2000 until the merger with Diethelm Keller in 2002, he was president and CEO of SiberHegner Holding AG. He completed his studies in engineering in 1983 and received his doctorate in 1987 from the Technical University of Chemnitz in Germany. Mr. Wolle was born on 19 April 1957.
Mr. Weinbach was elected lead director in January 2009. He has been a partner of Yankee Hill Capital Management LLC, a private equity firm, since 2006. Prior to that, he was the executive chairman of Unisys Corporation, a worldwide information services and technology company, from 2005 to 2006, and its chairman and chief executive officer from 1997 to 2004. He began his career in 1961 at Arthur Andersen, ultimately serving as managing partner and chief executive of Andersen Worldwide, a global professional services organization, which included Arthur Andersen and the company known as Accenture from 1989 to 1997. Mr. Weinbach serves on the boards of directors of Avon Products, Inc., UBS AG and Quadra Realty Trust, Inc.

Michel Demaré was elected to the BoD at the AGM 2009. He is a member of the audit committee. He joined ABB in 2005 as member of the Executive Committee and CFO. In addition, he became president of Global Markets in November 2008. Between February and September 2008, he acted as interim CEO of ABB. Mr. Demaré joined ABB from Baxter International, a global healthcare company, where he was CFO Europe from 2002 to 2005. Prior to this role, he spent 18 years at the Dow Chemical Company, holding various Treasury and Risk Management positions in Belgium, France, the US and Switzerland. Between 1997 and 2002 he was CFO of the Global Polyolefins and Elastomers division. Mr. Demaré began his career as an officer in the Multinational Banking division of Continental Illinois Bank of Chicago, based in Antwerp. He graduated with an MBA from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium and a degree in applied economics from the Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium. Mr. Demaré was born on 31 August 1956 and is a Belgian citizen.

Rainer-Marc Frey is the founder and Chairman of Horizon21, an investment management company which takes long-term investment views on various megatrends in the investment management industry. In 1992, he founded RMF Investment Group (RMF), one of the first hedge fund groups in Europe, and became CEO. RMF was acquired by Man Group Plc in 2002. Between 2002 and 2004, he held a number of senior roles within Man Group Plc and was the largest individual shareholder. From 1989 to 1992, prior to founding RMF, Mr. Frey served as a director at Salomon Brothers Inc. in Zurich, Frankfurt and London, where he was involved mainly with equity derivatives. Between 1987 and 1989, he worked for Merrill Lynch Inc. covering equity, fixed income and swaps markets. He holds a degree in economics from the University of St. Gallen. Mr. Frey was born on 10 January 1963.

Sally Bott was elected to the BoD at the extraordinary general meeting (EGM) in October 2008. She chairs the human resources and compensation committee and is a member of the corporate responsibility committee. Sally Bott serves as Group HR Director of BP plc, which she joined in early 2005, and is a member of its Group Executive Committee. Ms. Bott spent most of her career in financial services. Between 2000 and 2005, she was a Managing Director at Marsh & McLennan, a US-based global risk and insurance services business, and head of global HR for Marsh, Inc. She was at Barclays Bank from 1994 to 2000, first as BZW HR director and then Group HR director from 1997 to 2000. In 1970, she joined Citibank out of college as a research analyst in the economics department. She was credit trained and in the Finance Function. She joined HR in 1978 and worked as a HR director in most of the wholesale bank and investment banking businesses during the next 15 years. She was the Global HR Director of the wholesale bank from 1990 to 1993. Ms. Bott has a BS in economics from Manhattanville College, USA. She was born on 11 November 1949 and is an American citizen.
Sally Bott is a member of the board of the Royal College of Music in London and the Carter Burden Center for the Aged in NYC.
