After receiving her degree from the University of Pennsylvania, she joined Martha Stewart Living as an editorial assistant, and has been actively involved with Martha Stewart Weddings since its launch in 1995. Currently, Darcy oversees every aspect of weddings coverage: in publishing and merchandising, on television, the web, and radio. Under her guidance, the publication won a general excellence award from the American Society of Magazine Editors and six Society of Publication Designers Merit awards. Still, it's the brides-to-be that matter most to her. "One of the best parts of my job is working day in and day out with real women," she says. "If the bride shines, so will the entire wedding." Listen to Darcy give invaluable wedding advice on Martha Stewart Living Radio (Sirius 112 and XM 157).

As the editorial director of gardening, Martha's longtime head gardener Andrew Beckman spends his days planting seeds of ideas and nurturing them along. A knack for planning ahead, then waiting patiently, comes in handy in the garden -- and at work, too. His team conceives all of its stories up to two years before they're published and then produces them a year in advance. Andrew has a degree in landscape architecture and a practical degree in horticulture from Pennsylvania's prestigious Longwood Gardens. He also co-owns a nursery in Columbia County, New York. He travels the country visiting nurseries and gardens, attending lectures, and researching new plants, and is always talking with fellow gardeners about what interests them. You can listen to Andrew, along with deputy editor of gardening Tony Bielaczyc, talk plants on "Homegrown," his radio show on Martha Stewart Living Radio (Sirius 112).

Fritz Karch's office looks just as you might imagine. It's piled high with his latest finds, a fascinating mix of exquisite things and intriguing oddities. Ask him about virtually any vintage item, and he'll tell you the story behind it. For our collecting articles, Fritz, who started at Martha Stewart Living in 1992 and is now the editorial director of collecting, chooses topics that educate and delight. He then arranges objects related to the topics and captures their quirky and beautiful personalities in photos. Collecting is about "reusing and recycling," Fritz says. "There's so much wonderful stuff in the world." In addition to being a lifelong collector (or, as he says, "hunter and gatherer"), Fritz is a dealer specializing in twentieth-century dinnerware, among many other things. His preference, he jokes, goes toward four categories: broken, large, heavy, and useless.

Ever since she can remember, Jodi Levine has been drawing pictures, designing doll clothes, and dreaming up original craft ideas. After majoring in painting at the Rhode Island School of Design, Jodi brought her skills and talents to Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. She started in 1994 at Martha Stewart Living magazine, and spent seven years coming up with inspiring ideas to help readers enhance their homes and their lives. Now, as editorial director of Kids and the host of "KidStuff" on Martha Stewart Living Radio, she brainstorms projects for kids and parents, develops stories, and tests everything at home on her most important audience -- her own kids.

Kevin Sharkey, who has a degree in architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design, came to Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia in 1996 from Parish-Hadley, a venerable New York City interior design firm. Over the years Kevin has worked closely with Martha on the interior design of all her homes. As editorial director of decorating, Kevin creates most of the decorating stories seen in the pages of Martha Stewart Living, and he believes that a truly beautiful room is one that hasn't been "decorated" at all, but rather "considered." "It's not about dictating a set of rules," he says, "but about disseminating information so that people can apply the techniques we teach in the magazine and on the radio, and then do it in their own way to create something they truly love and are proud of." For him, the biggest compliment comes when a reader says, "I learned this from the magazine, but I did it my way."

For most people, holidays are about tradition. But every year Marcie McGoldrick, holiday editor for Martha Stewart Living, comes up with new ideas for classic crafts -- like Easter eggs, jack-o'-lanterns, and Christmas ornaments. Halloween has become her favorite holiday because "we can go a little crazy," she says. For one story, she carved dozens of pumpkins and experimented with a bunch of different themes before settling on bugs and birds. "I think about how to take something beautiful and make it creepy --but still beautiful," Marcie says. This approach is the signature of her stories, all of which have a wonderful sense of whimsy and sophistication. Marcie has a master's degree in industrial design, and spends her free time making porcelain dishes and jewelry.

Chef Emeril Lagasse is the chef/proprietor of ten restaurants including three in New Orleans (Emeril's, NOLA and Emeril's Delmonico); three in Las Vegas (Emeril's New Orleans Fish House, Delmonico Steakhouse, and Table 10); two in Orlando (Emeril's Orlando and Tchoup Chop); one in Miami (Emeril's Miami Beach), and one in Gulfport, MS (Emeril's Gulf Coast Fish House). Lagasse is a national TV personality, and has hosted over 1500 shows on the Food Network, and is the food correspondent for ABC's "Good Morning America." This summer, he will host Emeril Green, a new series exploring fresh and seasonal ingredients on Discovery Communications' Planet Green -- an eco-lifestyle network. Lagasse is the best-selling author of twelve cookbooks including Emeril's New New Orleans Cooking which introduced his creative take on Creole cuisine, and Emeril's There's a Chef in My World, a children's cookbook. In September 2002, he established the Emeril Lagasse Foundation to support and encourage programs creating developmental and educational opportunities for children. Lagasse's corporate office, Emeril's Homebase, is located in New Orleans and houses restaurant operations, a culinary test kitchen, and a boutique store for his signature products. In April 2008, Emeril Lagasse joined the Martha Stewart family of brands; MSLO acquired the assets related to Lagasse's media and merchandising business, including television programming, cookbooks, and emerils.com website and his licensed kitchen and food products.
