Mr. Ron Locklin is Director of Industry Marketing at The MathWorks, Inc., and has over twenty years of experience in executive management, marketing and business development, consulting, and strategic planning. He joined the compnay in early 2002 with a mission to build a global industry marketing capability that adds a strong vertical dimension to the company's existing products and programs. Ron was until 2001 Vice President of Business Development of Openpages (www.openpages.com), where he was responsible for channel development, alliances, business strategy, and acquisitions. Prior to Openpages, he was Vice President for Worldwide Alliances at PTC (Parametric Technology Corporation; www.ptc.com), the world leader in 3D solids modeling/mechanical design applications and collaborative design solutions for the manufacturing industry. He managed all hardware, software, and consulting relationships for PTC, and also drove PTC's business contracts and licensing activity. Prior to this, he was Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Compaq Computer's (www.compaq.com) $5b Industry Solutions division. He has also worked for Digital Equipment Corporation (where he led the workstations division), Groupe Bull in Europe for six years, and at Mercer Management Consulting in Boston. Ron is also a lecturer at Boston University's Metropolitain College. He specializes in management courses, such as International Marketing (MK 431), International Business Management (MG 520), and Business in a Changing Society (MG 503). Ron has an MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College, and a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from Colgate University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Ron has also held board positions at numerous firms, and is a frequent speaker at events, tradeshows, and on newscasts. He has also been published in trade journals.
