As vice president, general counsel and secretary, Shawn Murphy is responsible for all legal and audit matters for Mazda North American Operations.
Murphy joined Mazda in December 2007. Prior to joining Mazda, he most recently held the position of General Counsel and Secretary for Jaguar Land Rover North America. Prior to its sale, he also was responsible for Aston Martin North America. During the ten years prior to that, Murphy held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility within the Ford Motor Company and Ford Motor Credit Company General Counsel offices.
In addition to his position as General Counsel and Secretary for MNAO, Murphy serves as secretary to the Mazda Motor of America, Inc. Board of Directors and is a member of its audit committee.
Murphy is affiliated with the Michigan and California Bar Associations, the American Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel.
A graduate of Michigan State University, Murphy earned his Juris Doctorate with honors from the University of Detroit Mercy School. He resides in Ladera Ranch, Calif., with his wife, Julie and his two children, Cole and Cameron.

David Klan is general manager, Western region for Mazda North American Operations. Prior to this position, Klan was the director of marketing for MNAO where he was responsible for all U.S.-based advertising and marketing operations, including brand development, business planning and global integration. In his previous position, Klan was the general manager of global brand marketing for Mazda Motor Corporation, based in Hiroshima, Japan.
Klan joined Mazda Canada in 1992, and has since held numerous positions in sales, marketing and regional operations. From July 2001 until March 2004, he was director of marketing at Mazda Canada, overseeing all marketing communications, product strategies, consumer incentives and marketing research. In March 2004, he moved to Japan to oversee global brand marketing including brand strategy, global marketing and product launch initiatives and a unified global auto show strategy.
Klan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Stetson University and received a master’s degree in business administration from the Schulich School of Business in Ontario, Canada.
Klan is married with three children.

Mr. Dalfonsi is a managing director in the investment banking department at Roth Capital Partners. During his career, Mr. Dalfonsi has closed over 150 financings and advised companies on mergers and acquisitions totaling over $3 billion in value. Mr. Dalfonsi has worked in an investment banking capacity at firms including William Blair & Company, Friedman Billings Ramsey and The Sakura Bank Limited over the last ten years. Mr. Dalfonsi received his B.S in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University and has MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Mr. Dalfonsi currently serves on the board of Mazda Motor Funding.
Lewis Booth was named the company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective Nov. 1, 2008. Booth has overall responsibility for the company’s financial operations, including the Controller’s Office, Treasury and Investor Relations.
In his previous position, Booth was executive vice president for Ford Motor Company responsible for Ford of Europe, Volvo Car Corporation and Ford Export Operations & Global Growth Initiatives. Booth was chairman of both Ford of Europe and Volvo Car Corporation. He was formerly responsible for the Premier Automotive Group from October 2005.
Previously, Booth was chairman and CEO, Ford of Europe, from April 2004 to Sept 2005, and held the position of president and COO, Ford of Europe, from September 2003 to April 2004. Between 2002 and 2003, Booth was president and then chairman of Mazda Motor Corporation based in Hiroshima, Japan, where he oversaw the implementation of the company's highly successful Millennium Plan and the return of the rotary engine in the RX-8.
Booth was President, Asia Pacific and Africa Operations for Ford Motor Company, a position he held from January 1, 2000. In this role, he had operational responsibility for South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and India and for developing Ford’s strategy in the Asia-Pacific region.
From Aug 1997 to Jan 2000, Mr. Booth served as Group Managing Director of the South Africa Motor Corporation (SAMCOR).
At that time, Ford had 45% equity in SAMCOR, which assembled Ford and Mazda vehicles in South Africa. Subsequently, the SAMCOR joint venture was dissolved and Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa was established.
During the 1980s and early 1990s, Booth held a series of management positions in Ford of Europe in Britain and in Germany in Finance Staff, Truck Operations, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Sales.
In 1992, he moved to the United States where he worked for Finance Staff in Dearborn. From 1993 to 1996, Booth held a variety of positions in Car Product Development, Body & Assembly, Vehicle Operations and the Manufacturing Business Office for Ford Automotive Operations before accepting the position of Group Managing Director at SAMCOR in South Africa.
Born in Liverpool, England, the son of a Ford, Austin and Morris dealer, Booth has the car business in his blood and makes no apologies for his passion for cars and the auto business.
After completing his bachelor of engineering degree with honors in mechanical engineering at Liverpool University, he started his career at British Leyland before joining Ford in 1978 as a financial analyst in Product Development for Ford of Europe.
Booth is a qualified chartered management accountant. He and his wife have two children.

Stephen Odell is CEO and President, Volvo Car Corporation, a position he has held since Oct. 1, 2008. He is also a vice president of Ford Motor Company.
Volvo Car Corporation, a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company, develops and manufactures cars which are sold in approximately 100 markets around the world. It is headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Prior to his current position, Odell was chief operating officer for Ford of Europe from April 2008 to October 2008. In that role he was responsible for product development, manufacturing, purchasing, and marketing, sales and service operations.
From September 2005 to April 2008, Odell was vice president of marketing, sales and service, Ford of Europe. Odell was elected a Ford Motor Company vice president in September 2005.
Before that, Odell was director and senior managing executive officer in charge of marketing, sales and customer services at Mazda Motor Corporation, a Ford affiliate in Japan, where he was also a member of the board.
Odell joined Ford Motor Company in 1980 as a graduate trainee, Ford of Britain.
He worked in several management positions in sales and marketing in Britain and the U.S., before being appointed vice president marketing and sales, Jaguar North America, in 1997.
In January 2000, Odell joined Mazda Motor North America as a vice president marketing and sales. From 2000-2001, he served on the board of governors of Dillard University in New Orleans, LA., a "Historically Black Colleges and Universities" institution.
Odell became chief operations officer, Mazda North America, in October 2000, and was appointed president of Mazda Europe in January 2002.
In May 2003, he was elected senior managing executive officer, marketing, sales and customer services, Mazda Motor Corporation, Japan.
