Glenn P. Sblendorio has been our Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President since March 2006. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Sblendorio was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Eyetech Pharmaceuticals, Inc. until it was acquired by OSI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in November 2005. From July 2000 to February 2002, Mr. Sblendorio served as Senior Vice President of Business Development for the Company. From 1998 to July 2000, Mr. Sblendorio was the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of MPM Capital Advisors, LLC, an investment bank specializing in healthcare related transactions. Mr. Sblendorio’s pharmaceutical experience also includes 12 years at Hoffmann-LaRoche, Inc., a pharmaceutical company, in a variety of senior financial positions, including Chief Financial Officer of Roche Molecular Systems and Head of Finance-Controller for Amgen/Roche Europe. Mr. Sblendorio received his B.B.A. in accounting from Pace University and his M.B.A. in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Kelli Watson has been our Senior Vice President Global Communications since October 2006. She joined MDCO in January 2006 in support of the Human Strategy function. Prior to joining us, she held various positions with Pfizer Inc, including Vice President Global Human Resources Planning (2002-2006), Vice President Human Resources and Planning for the Corporate Affairs function (1996-2002) and various other Human Resource positions throughout the organization. She was also played leadership roles in Pfizer's acquisition of both Warner-Lambert and Pharmacia, Kelli holds a BA in Psychology and Sociology from Hamline University, and a MA in Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota.

Director, Research and Development Dr. Spigelman is the Director of Research and Development for the TB Alliance. A highly regarded expert in domestic and international drug research and development, Dr. Spigelman previously spent a decade managing drug R&D at Knoll Pharmaceuticals (a division of BASF Pharma). As Vice President of R&D at Knoll, Dr. Spigelman directed clinical development and supervised all R&D activities from basic discovery to regulatory approval. He established global R&D processes as part of Knoll's senior R&D management team, oversaw a marked increase in US regulatory filings and approvals, and supervised joint R&D programs with pharmaceutical companies. Starting as Director of Oncology and Immunology in 1989, Dr. Spigelman became Vice President of R&D at Knoll until its acquisition by Abbott Laboratories in 2001. Dr. Spigelman received his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his medical degree from the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine where he specialized in Internal medicine and Neoplastic Diseases. Dr. Spigelman holds board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board's Subspecialty Board of Medical Oncology, and the American Board of Preventive Medicine and was the recipient of the American Cancer Society Clinical Oncology Career Development Award (1985-1988).

Sylvia Metzler is a grandmother of four -- two of whom are old enough to fight and die in Iraq. As a practicing family nurse practitioner, she cares for many young people. She wants to protect them from trauma as if they were her grandkids. Sylvia has lived in North Philadelphia for fourteen years since returning from Nicaragua where she worked in a health care center for two years. She serves as president of the board of the Norris Square Neighborhood Project; co-chair of Medicines for Nicaragua; and co-chair of the Philadelphia Area Committee to Defend Health Care, which is committed to a universal single-payer health-care system. When she is not working for peace and social justice, she enjoys jogging, gardening, cooking, and hanging out with family and friends.

Elizabeth H.S. Wyatt has been a director since March 2005. Leon E. Rosenberg, M.D., a director of Hana since February 2004, has been a Professor in the Princeton University Department of Molecular Biology and the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Public Affairs since 1997. Since 1999, he has also been Professor Adjunct of Genetics at Yale University School of Medicine. From 1997 to 1998, Dr. Rosenberg served as Senior Vice President, Scientific Affairs of Bristol Myers Squibb Company, and from 1991 to 1997, Dr. Rosenberg served as President of the Bristol Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute, where he was responsible for the company's worldwide pharmaceutical research and development. Prior to Bristol Myers Squibb, Dr. Rosenberg was Dean of the Yale University School of Medicine from 1984 to 1991. Dr. Rosenberg also serves on the Boards of Directors of Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute (since 1997), Karo Bio AB (since 2000), and Medicines for Malaria Venture (since 2000).

In July 1999, Dr. Johnson founded JSB Partners, L.P., an investment bank focusing on mergers and acquisitions, private financings and corporate alliances within the health care sector. From July 1991 to June 1999, Dr. Johnson served as a founder and managing director of MPM Capital, L.P. Dr. Johnson held academic positions at the Harvard Medical School from 1978 to 1996 and was actively involved in both basic science and clinical research at the Beth Israel Hospital and the Brigham and Women's Hospital.
