Frank M. Garrison is CEO of Island Global Yachting (IGY). In this position, he oversees numerous strategic initiatives for the company. Prior to joining IGY, Mr. Garrison served as president of Courage Capital Management, a registered investment advisor with $1 billion under management, and offices in Nashville, Los Angeles, Boston and Mumbai, India. Previously, Mr. Garrison also served 12 years as president of Insignia Financial Services, the investment banking and principal investment arm of one of the world's largest real estate services companies. There, he oversaw virtually all of Insignia's mergers and acquisitions activities, real estate investments and key joint venture relationships. He was responsible for, oversaw and/or personally negotiated over 60 acquisitions of operating service companies, 90 public tender offers, multiple financings of both debt and equity for Insignia and the sale of various divisions and ultimately the remaining business in several public company transactions -- the last of which occurred in July 2003. Significantly, Mr. Garrison also was a key leader of the team which oversaw the initial public offering of Insignia and various other securities offerings. Upon leaving Insignia at the time of its merger with CB Richard Ellis in 2003, Mr. Garrison was involved in numerous private equity activities, including participation in Island Capital Group's (IGY's parent company) mortgage-backed security investment business. Mr. Garrison attended Vanderbilt University where he graduated in three years while earning a double major in Business and Economics (B.A. '76), and earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt School of Law in 1979. He also serves as a Commissioner of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, the President of the Vanderbilt University School of Law National Council, a member of the Board of Trustees of University School of Nashville, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, and Belcourt Yes!.
