Wudeneh Zewdie, M.D., has recently joined the medical staff at Midwest Regional Medical Center. Dr. Zewdie graduated from medical school in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and gained his internal medicine board certification after completing his residency at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He completed a fellowship program in nephrology at SUNY Downstate University Hospital, Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Zewdie has extensive training in kidney care delivery under various settings including inner city, veteran?s hospitals, academics and private practice. He has a broad skill base in the management of various kidney diseases including chronic kidney diseases, acute and chronic hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy, uncontrolled hypertension, kidney transplant recipients and evaluation of donors. Dr. Zewdie also specializes in the management of patients with fluid and electrolyte disorders, and acid based disorders. Dr. Zewdie is a member of several professional organizations including American Society of Nephrology, Renal Physicians Association, and American Medical Association.
