Until June 2007, Mr. Smith was President and Chief Executive Officer of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Chairman of Hang Seng Bank Limited, Global Head of Commercial Banking for the HSBC Group and Chairman of HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad. Previously, Mr. Smith was Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Argentina Holdings SA and was subsequently appointed Chairman of HSBC in Argentina in 2000. Mr. Smith joined the HSBC Group in 1978 and during his 29 year career he has held a wide variety of posts in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region, the United Kingdom, Australia, the Middle East and South America, including appointments in Commercial, Institutional and Investment Banking, Planning and Strategy, Operations and General Management. Mr. Smith graduated with honors in Economic Sciences in 1978 from City University of London. He is Head of Advisory Council of Asia Investment Corporation and a member of Chongqing Mayor's International Economic Advisory Council. Mr. Smith is also a member of the VISA International Asia Pacific Regional Board, as well as a Fellow of The Hong Kong Management Association.

As senior vice president, talent management for Modem Media, Laura oversees all talent and human resource activities and interactions related to the day-to-day business. She also leads all new business activities across the network. Previously, Laura was senior vice president and general manager of Digitasal services, post merger integration and re-structuring, human resource strategy, and management development and training. Laura also spent a number of years in publishing and corporate banking in New York City. Laura holds a B.S. with honors in marketing and finance from New York University and an M.B.A. with honors from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.

As managing director of Modem Media West, Brian oversees all business operations, client relationships and new business strategy for the region. He also works with the agency's global capability leads and other managing directors to ensure that Modem's integrated service offerings are aligned across the network. In addition, as a functional expert in the delivery of CRM solutions, Brian is an important leader in the design and delivery of the marketing engines Modem Media creates for its clients. Prior to joining Modem Media in 2006, Brian served as Managing Director, West, at MRM Worldwide, the customer relationship management unit of McCann Worldgroup, where he was responsible for the strategic, organizational, client and financial leadership of the MRM West Region offices, which include locations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle. Prior to that, in his position as General Manager of MRM San Francisco, he nearly doubled both the size and the revenues of that office. In a career that spans two decades in advertising and marketing services, Brian has held account management, business development and executive leadership roles at agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather, OgilvyOne Worldwide, and Mediaplex Inc. A native of the UK, Brian served in the British Army, and has worked in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

Michael Bronner is the founder and Chairman of Upromise. Michael founded Upromise in 2001 to make college more affordable for middle-income families. Upromise is the largest coalition of companies ever assembled to support a common cause. More than seven million families have joined Upromise and have saved nearly $13 billion for college. Michael is also the founder and Chairman Emeritus of Digitas, the leading digital marketing agency. Digitas employs nearly 2,000 professionals that provide integrated strategy, technology and marketing solutions to Fortune 100 companies including American Express, AT&T, Delta Air Lines, Federal Express and General Motors. Among his numerous community activities, Michael serves on the boards of the Boys and Girls Clubs, Children's Hospital Trust and Boston University. In recognition of all that Michael has contributed to the community, Michael received the Torch of Liberty Award from the Anti-Defamation League.
