Monro is always willing to give you a brake. Founded in 1959 and headquartered in Rochester, NY, Monro Muffler Brake (NASDAQ: MNRO) is an automotive repair and tire service company. The company has over 700 shops across the US. Its services include maintenance repairs, wheel alignment, belt installation, oil change, and battery replacement. It also has shops under the names: Mr. Tire and Speedy Auto Service, Tread Quarters, and Auto Service by Monro. The company had 2006 revenue of about $368.7 million and employs about 3,600 people. In April 2006, it acquired ProCare Automotive Service Solutions LLC. for approximately $14,650,000 in cash.

Mr. Solomon founded Peter J. Solomon Company, L.P. in 1989. Previously, he was Vice Chairman of Lehman Brothers where he was Chairman of its Merchant Banking Division and Co-Chairman of the Investment Banking Division.
