Our History Moors & Cabot, Inc. was founded in 1890 by John F. Moors and Charles Cabot to handle the personal investments of the two founders and their friends. Over the last century, the firm has grown to serve the needs of thousands of investors, with branch offices around the country. Still operating from its original headquarters in the heart of Boston's financial district, the company has been a pillar of stability in the investment community. In fact, Moors & Cabot's chief executive officer, Daniel M. Joyce, is only the fifth CEO in the firm's long history. Moors & Cabot is the oldest independent member of the Boston Stock Exchange and one of the nation's oldest independent members of the New York Stock Exchange. Since its inception, the firm has participated in the retail sale of stocks and bonds to individuals and the institutional sale of stocks and bonds to most of Boston's money management firms. In addition to offering its equity and fixed-income research through full-service registered representatives, Moors & Cabot offers investors additional investment tools such as cash management accounts, retirement planning, mutual funds, annuities and professional money management services. Mr. Winslow is Managing Director and Chairman of Fin-Net and Co-Chairman and Executive Vice President of Winslow, Evans & Crocker, Inc. Since beginning his career in 1957, Mr. Winslow has been a founder, principal, and partner of numerous securities, investment management, and financial services companies. His first position was working on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange for Dominick and Dominick. He later became a security analyst and regional Vice President of the firm. Moving to Boston, he was a partner of Townsend, Dabney & Tyson and an allied member of the N.Y.S.E. Subsequently, he was elected a partner of F. S. Moseley which became Moseley, Halgarten & Estabrook. Mr. Winslow founded and was named President of their investment advisory affiliate, Bunker Hill Management Company. In addition, Mr. Winslow has been a partner of the Boston regional broker dealer, Moors & Cabot, and a founding principal of Wingate Financial Group. While at Wingate, he established and served as President of their registered investment advisory affiliate, Kingbridge Management Company. Mr. Winslow holds a bachelor's degree from Trinity College.
