Scott Eckert is one of the co-founders of the company and its CEO from inception through the end of 2008. Mr. Eckert applied his executive leadership, high-tech business experience and entrepreneurial spirit to help transform the company from a start-up in 2001 to a successful, international provider of mobile computing solutions. Motion expanded its product line, deepened its focus on the Healthcare and Field Automation vertical markets, and grew rapidly to #1 in the world in slate Tablet PCs. The company also expanded in Europe and Asia creating a presence in more than 25 countries across the globe. Mr. Eckert remains on the Motion's board of directors and is actively involved with the company's customers, partners, and investors. Prior to leading Motion Computing, Eckert was an executive at Dell Inc. and widely known as the chief architect and general manager of that company's worldwide Internet strategy. Under his management, Dell's electronic commerce revenue grew from zero to about $20 million per day, making it the largest computer vendor on the Internet and one of the most celebrated e-commerce success stories. Mr. Eckert was also general manager for Dell's Home and Small Business Division in Brazil and was responsible for implementing a turnaround in one of Dell's strategic target markets. Valerie Walden is the senior vice president of marketing at Motion Computing. Walden previously was the chief operating officer and sat on the board of directors at Netpliance. Before that French served in a number of executive capacities with Sentient Systems, Inc., a rapidly growing custom software development and systems integration firm, prior to its acquisition by Daou Systems, Inc. Mr. French has advised hundreds of hospitals, health plans, pharmaceutical, physician clinics, private equity funds and technology firms on matters of business strategy, operational and financial performance improvements as well as appropriate technology integration. As CEO, David has responsibility for Motion's day-to-day activities. Mr. Altounian has more than 20 years of management and staff experience in the computer and consulting professions. David served in executive positions at Dell for both the notebook computer and workstation product businesses where he was responsible for the Worldwide Product Marketing organizations. He spent two years in Europe as the General Manager, Workstation Line of Business for Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Prior to joining Dell, Mr. Altounian managed marketing and business development teams for leading technology companies including Motorola, Compaq Computer Corporation and Ashton-Tate. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from California Coast University and his MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
