Rebecca Henry brings years of experience with movement and stillness to her Reiki practice. Initially trained as a dancer, she has spent many years studying how the body moves, what it needs to thrive, and what happens when it is out of alignment. Rebecca has been studying and practicing meditation for over twenty years, and finds it has added to her understanding of body awareness. She discovered Reiki on the island of Kauai, Hawaii in 1997 where she did First-Degree training. Over the years Reiki began to have more and more influence in her life and she chose to begin Master Training with her teacher Shalandra Abbey. In 2003 she was initiated as a Master after completing one and a half years of Master training, and has since been teaching First and Second-Degree Reiki classes and seeing clients. She left a full Reiki practice in Boulder in order to return to New England where she grew up. Her practice had a strong community aspect, with frequent classes, time for clients, free Reiki clinics, and weekly gatherings, and included treatments for animals such as horses and dogs. Rebecca has spent much of her career doing Reiki in Hospice and nursing homes, and working with critically ill clients. Reiki has become an instrumental healing tool in her life and Rebecca has a love for sharing Reiki. She says "Reiki is a powerful discipline for healing ourselves. As we heal ourselves, inevitably we heal our community." She invites you to come and have a treatment or look for the upcoming classes she will be teaching at the Healing Arts Clinic.
