Jayan Ramankutty ('71) is Vice President of Cypress Semiconductor's Data Communications division, and co-founder and Director of Empowertel. Jayan was founder, President and COO of Lara Networks, Inc., which he sold to Cypress Semiconductor in 2000. He has held various senior level technical and management positions in Alliance Semiconductor, VIA Technologies and Elxsi. He also founded, and sold Nimbus Technology to Alliance Semiconductor prior to going IPO. Jayan has over 18 years of extensive experience in the field of research, design and development of large, multi-processor computer systems, complex ASICs and SoCs targeted towards networking and telecommunication markets.
