Dr. Nikolaus von Bomhard was born in Gunzenhausen in 1956. He completed his law studies at the universities of Munich and Regensburg with a doctorate. He joined the Munich Re graduate trainee programme in 1985, and afterwards worked as an underwriter in the Operational Division: Fire/Treaty. In 1992 he was appointed Deputy Head of the Operational Division: Germany. In 1997 Mr. von Bomhard took on the task of building up and managing the Munich Re office in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In 2000 he was appointed to the Board of Management and from 2001 was responsible for the Europe 2/Latin America Division. He was appointed Chairman of the Board of Management with effect from 1 January 2004. Mr. von Bomhard is responsible for Group Investments; Group Development, Executive Offices, Group Top Executives, Press and Internal Auditing.

Dr. Jorg Schneider was born in Duisburg in 1958. He studied business management at the University of Cooperative Education in Stuttgart. His degree course involved a period of work experience at Daimler-Benz AG. After obtaining his degree, he studied law in Tubingen, obtaining a doctorate. Parallel to this, Mr Schneider worked as a programmer and systems analyst for Daimler-Benz and a consultancy firm. After working for the State of Bavaria as an articled clerk, Mr Schneider joined Munich Re's Finance Department in 1988, becoming Head of the Participations Department five years later. He was made Head of Group Investments in 1997. In 2000 he was appointed to the Board of Management. As Chief Financial Officer, Mr Schneider is responsible for Group Accounting, Group Controlling, Integrated Risk Management, Corporate Finance and M&A, Legal Affairs, Supervision and Compliance, Taxes as well as Investor and Rating Agency Relations. He is married and has two children.

Dr. Thomas Blunck was born in Santiago, Chile, in 1965. After reading economics and business studies at the Universities of Barcelona and Fribourg, he was awarded the degree of Dr. rer. pol. During his doctoral studies he held the position of assistant lecturer at the University of Fribourg. Dr. Blunck commenced his professional career in 1993 as a junior consultant with Roland Berger & Partner, subsequently holding management positions with Bosch und Siemens Hausgerate GmbH (BSH), Munich. He was appointed Head of Strategy/Economic Research in Munich Re's Central Division: Strategic Planning in 1999. Two years later, he was made Head of this Central Division and, in mid-2002, an Executive Manager in the Europe 2 and Latin America Division. At the beginning of 2005, Dr. Blunck became a Senior Executive Manager in the Special and Financial Risks Division. Since 1 October 2005, he has been a member of the Board of Management and is responsible for the divisions Special and Financial Risks, Organisational Design and Development as well as Information Technology. Dr. Thomas Blunck is married and has three children.

Dr. Ludger Arnoldussen was born in Duisburg in 1962. Following a banking traineeship with Commerzbank AG in Duisburg, he studied business economics at the University of Cologne, obtaining a doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.). In 1988, Dr. Arnoldussen began his career with Bayerische Ruckversicherung AG, Munich, as a graduate trainee. Four years later, he was responsible for the founding and development of the Company's Dublin office in Ireland. On returning to Munich in 1996, he became Head of the Non-proportional Division. In 1997, Dr. Arnoldussen was appointed deputy member of the Board of Management of Bayerische Ruckversicherung AG and was responsible for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Facultative Property/Casualty. He was made a member of the Board of Management of Bayerische Ruckversicherung AG in 2000. In the following year, he assumed the position of project manager for the integration of Bayerische Ruckversicherung into Swiss Re's Europe Division and became a member of the Europe Division Executive Team. In 2002, Dr. Arnoldussen was, in addition, appointed to the Board of Management of Swiss Re Germany Holding AG and, in 2005, joined the Europe Division's Executive Team Committee as Business Unit Head responsible for Northern/Central/Eastern Europe. Later that year, he was made a member of the Board of Management of Swiss Re Germany AG. Dr. Ludger Arnoldussen was appointed to the Board of Management of Munich Re with effect from 1 October 2006, with responsibility for Germany, Asia Pacific and Africa Division as well as Central Division: General Services. He is married and has four children.
