J. Erik Fyrwald joined Nalco as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer in February 2008. From 2003 to 2008 Mr. Fyrwald served as Group Vice President of the Agriculture and Nutrition division at DuPont. From 2000 until 2003 he was Vice President and General Manager of DuPont’s Nutrition and Health business. In 1999, Mr. Fyrwald was Vice President for Corporate Strategic Planning and Business Development. Mr. Fyrwald attended the University of Delaware, where he received a B.S. degree in chemical engineering in 1981. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. Mary Kay Kaufmann is our Chief Marketing Officer. She has held this position since August 2008. In May 2007 she was named Group Vice President and President, Industrial and Institutional Services (I&IS) — Middle Market. David Johnson has been our Executive Vice President, President, EAME (Europe, Africa, Middle East) since January 2009. Prior to that he was Group Vice President and President of EAME Operations since May 2007. Mr. Johnson was Vice President of the global Downstream business for our Energy Services division from 2006 to 2007. He was the Global Strategic Business Leader for Energy Services Downstream from 2004 to 2005. In 2003, Mr. Johnson was General Sales Manager for the Downstream business in North America. He became General Marketing Manager for the Refinery and Fuel Management (RFM) business unit in 2002. From 1999 to 2002, Mr. Johnson was Business Manager for the EAME RFM group of the Nalco/Exxon joint venture, after having served as the group’s Marketing Manager from 1996 to 1999. Mr. Johnson was Market Development Manager for the EAME RFM group from 1994 to 1996, and he held the same position from 1990 to 1994 for the Oil Field Chemicals (OFC), RFM and Chemical Process Industries groups. From 1987 to 1990, Mr. Johnson worked in the U.K. as Area Manager for OFC. Eric G. Melin has been Executive Vice President, President Asia Pacific since January 2009. He served as Chairman of Nalco Asia, beginning in September 2008. Prior to that Mr. Melin worked for Nalco as a consultant on growth in Asia. He had been Chief Operating Officer, President and Board Member of Isola Corporation, a private-equity-owned global designer, developer and manufacturer of high-performance materials used in electronic systems. Previous to joining Isola in 2006, he worked for 24 years at DuPont, most recently as Vice President and General Manager of DuPont’s Refinish Systems, a performance coatings business with $2 billion in revenues and 5,000 employees. John P. Yimoyines has been our Group Vice President, Business Optimization since January 2009. Before that he was Group Vice President and President, Paper Services division from June 2006 through 2008. Prior to joining Nalco, Mr. Yimoyines spent 35 years in the chemical industry working first for Union Carbide and then Dow after the acquisition of Union Carbide by Dow. He was named Vice President-Corporate Ventures at Union Carbide in 1994 and became Vice President, General Manager, Specialty Polyolefins in 1998. He carried this title into Dow in 2001, where he was later named Vice President, Technology Licensing and Catalysts in 2004. Mr. Yimoyines has been instrumental in the formation of several international joint ventures.

Mr. Marchese served as Vice President Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Georgia Gulf Corporation from 1989 until his retirement at the end of 2003. Prior to 1989, Mr. Marchese served as the Controller of Georgia Gulf Corporation and prior to that as the Controller of the Resins Division of Georgia Pacific Corporation. Mr. Marchese is a director of Nalco Holding Company and BlueLinx Holdings, Inc.

Rodney F. Chase became a member of our Board of Directors in May 2005. Mr. Chase is a former Deputy Group Chief Executive of BP and served on the board of BP for eleven years. He retired from BP in April 2003 after 38 years of service. During his career, Mr. Chase had major responsibility for the sale of BP Minerals, and the acquisition and integration of Sohio, Britoil, Amoco, ARCO, Mobil Europe, Castrol and Veba Oil, together with the disposal of BP’s holding in Ruhrgas. He was instrumental in the creation of TNK-BP, BP’s Russian business entity. He was Deputy Chairman of TNK-BP until May 2004. Mr. Chase now serves on the board of Tesco plc as Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director. He is a Non-Executive Director of Computer Sciences Corp. and Tesoro Corporation, and Non-Executive Chairman of Petrofac Limited in the Channel Isles. He joined Lehman Brothers in 2003 as Senior Advisor in both Europe and the USA. He has previously served as a Non-Executive Director of B.O.C. plc and Diageo plc in London.
