After a decade as a stock broker and options trader, Stuart worked from 1991 to 1996 for a private investment advisor where he was second in command. During his tenure, assets increased two hundred fold. In 1997, Stuart founded his own investment firm, Zimco Advisors, a registered investment advisor through which he managed over $30 million in the stock market for high net worth individuals and small institutions. At the height of his personal and professional success, Stuart's wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He realized that true security and wealth is not measured in dollars. Moved by new priorities for his life, he liquidated his business to know joy and purpose beyond financial wealth. In fall 2002, Stuart founded Inner Securities, Inc., based on the principles outlined in the landmark book he co-authored with Jared Rosen, Inner Security and Infinite Wealth: Merging Self Worth and Net Worth (Select Books, 2003). He is currently host of Inside Wealth radio program airing on 910AM-KNEW in San Francisco, interviewing compelling and diverse guests, such as Deepak Chopra and Tony La Russa, about wealth in all forms. Stuart is an active philanthropist. He is the Vice-Chairman of the Keiretsu Forum Charitable Foundation. Stuart is also the founder/director of Share the Wealth Foundation (a part of National Heritage Foundation), a charitable enterprise created to inspire and empower people to create wealth, inside and out, and to share it... for greater peace and prosperity in all our lives.

John T. Houk, III, called Tick after his grandfather, is President of NHF. He has been involved with the National Heritage Foundation since early childhood. His father, Dock, founder of NHF, took him around the country promoting charitable foundations. It was a natural, therefore, for Tick to assume the Presidency of NHF in 1997.
