Navini's Ripwave MX system has surfed to the WiMAX Forum's third public Mobile WiMAX PlugFest, held in Taipei in October 2007. Navini has participated in all Mobile WiMAX PlugFests held to date demonstrating product and technology readiness for Mobile WiMAX Certification. Navini intends to be first in line when WiMAX Forum Certification begins. Also in October 2007, Navini, along with Beceem, Fujitsu and Runcom announced the formation of the "SMart Antenna RF Test" Alliance (SMART), to drive harmonized system performance and interoperability of Smart Antenna systems. This alliance was formed to promote the adoption and implementation of Beamforming (BF) and Beamformed MIMO (BF + MIMO) which are included in the 802.16e-2005 specification published by the IEEE and adopted by the WiMAX Forum for Mobile WiMAX certification under Wave 2. George Simpson, Jr., VP of Operations, brings more than 30 years of business operations experience to Navini. Michael Goguen is a Sequoia Capital US partner and focuses on investments in the components and systems sectors.
