Dr. Brown is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon. He graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his orthopaedic residency at the Naval Hospital in Oakland, California. Dr. Brown was the Chief of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and team physician at the United States Naval Academy for two years before moving to Omaha. Eric Phillips, M.D. is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and completed his residency at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Phillips then went on to complete his fellowship training at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Todd Sekundiak, M.D. is an assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery at Creighton University Medical Center and earned his medical degree in 1987 from the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Dr. Walsh completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship in 1976 at the Hughston Orthopaedic Clinic in Columbus, Georgia. The Hughston Clinic is home not only to one of the first Sports Medicine Fellowships ever established, but also to the first fully dedicated Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Hospital in the nation. In 1980, Dr. Walsh came to Omaha to start the Sports Medicine Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He directed that program until 1990 when he became one of the original partners in the Sports Medicine Center. The partners in that practice ultimately became the nucleus of the current group, OrthoWest, P.C. Dr. Walsh has also been team orthopaedic surgeon for all of the teams at the University of Nebraska-Omaha since 1980. Dr. Walsh has been board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery since 1977. An active member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, he has served on numerous committees and was the author of "Prevention and Treatment of Little League Baseball and Softball Injuries," a national safety course developed for Little League Baseball, Inc., by the Society.
