Savvis Communications

Phil has served as CEO of Savvis since 2006 and is a director of the company. Prior to joining Savvis Phil was the President and CEO for Equinix a provider of data center and Internet exchange services. Phil has served Pointcast as President and CEO, COO and CFO respectively. Prior to Pointcast he served as CFO for Etec Systems, Inc. Currently Phil serves on the Boards of United Way of Greater St. Louis, Regional Business Council, St. Louis Regional Chamber & Growth Association and Webster University Board of Trustees. He holds a B.A from Claremont McKenna College and an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia.

Bryan provides technology leadership for infrastructure and product development, M&A support, and next-generation platform evaluation. Before joining Savvis, he held positions in management, software technology research, and software development at Bridge Information Systems, Boeing, and the Applied Physics Laboratory. Bryan holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and a Master’s Degree in Information Management from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

As a member of the senior management team, Greg oversees finance, legal, corporate development and investor relations. Greg has held senior financial positions for both domestic and international communication service providers. Most recently, Freiberg served as Chief Financial Officer for XO Holdings, Inc. Prior to XO Holdings, Freiberg held positions as Senior Vice President of finance with Asia Netcom and Asia Global Crossing, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for all Lines of Business for Level 3 Communications and he was the founding Chief Financial Officer for MCI-WorldCom in Asia Pacific. Greg has served on the board of directors for joint ventures in Hong Kong, Japan, the Philippines, and Singapore.

Bill is responsible for delivering Savvis’ innovative range of network and managed hosting products as well as ensuring that Savvis continues to drive growth from the financial services industry vertical. Bill has significant experience in the financial services, media, and telecom industries, most recently as Global Head of Product Development at Reuters, the global information provider to the financial services sector. Bill has deep expertise in delivering low-latency application and infrastructure solutions to all members of the electronic trading community. Bill has a broad base of global management experience, having also served in a number of senior roles spanning product development, marketing, and business development as the CEO of a midsized pan European and Asian telecom and hosting business. Bill holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering from Cambridge University.

Prior to joining Savvis, Tom served as a U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, culminating almost three decades of work in international business, technology, and energy management. Tom began his professional career as an Associate Engineer for the Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington. He spent four years overseas with TRW managing European operations. He then returned to California and co-founded General Resources Corporation. Tom has a strong foundation in technology, working in the Silicon Valley in California for the past 20 years. He has served as the President and CEO of Unity Systems (automated building controls), Web State (online training) and most recently ActivePhoto (online digital photo services). Tom earned a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from Stanford University in 1972 and attended Harvard Business School, where he was awarded an MBA in 1975.

As a member of the senior management team, Gene leads the company’s legal function, as well as the corporate secretary’s office. Previously, Gene was the founder of Novo Strategic Partners LLC, which provided business consulting services including legal services management, intellectual property, M&A, and governance services. Gene previously served as the General Counsel of several public companies — including Spacelabs Medical, Inc., which specialized in medical software, hardware, and Internet technology — and has over 20 years of broad legal experience. In addition to a Juris Doctorate, Gene also holds an M.B.A. and has significant operational experience both domestically and internationally.

Jim has responsibility for customer service, sales enablement, and support. His team focuses on maximizing the client experience and profitability through asset optimization. Previously, Jim served as Savvis’ Managing Director of U.S. Sales and has held a variety of sales leadership and operational roles since 1999. Prior to this, he served in various sales roles at Digital Equipment Corporation, Southwestern Bell, and AT&T Information Systems. Jim received a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Missouri.

As a member of the senior management team, Mary Ann leads the company's global procurement, real estate, information technology, human resources and payroll departments. Previously, she was a Principal at The Clermont Group, which delivers global human resources, executive coaching and organizational development consulting services to a multi-national client base. Mary Ann also served in a senior human resources role for global risk management at Bank of America. She was responsible talent management, compensation, organizational development and senior leadership selection. Additionally, Altergott spent over ten years in a series of senior HR and operational roles with The Pillsbury Company.

Prior to joining Savvis, Paul spent almost 20 years with EMC Corporation where he held executive positions in sales, solutions marketing, and professional services. In his most recent role as Vice President of Global Services Sales, he built a consultative sales force that drove EMC solutions. Paul's experience with EMC encompasses assignments in North America and Europe. He holds a B.A. degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts.

James Ousley has been a director of the Company since April 2004. Mr. Ousley served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Vytek Corporation, a wireless integration company, from September 2000 until Vytek was acquired by the Company effective April 12, 2004. From 1999 to 2000, Mr. Ousley was President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Syntegra (USA) Inc. From 1992 to 1999, Mr. Ousley was President and Chief Executive Officer of Control Data Systems. Earlier in his career, Mr. Ousley held executive management positions with Ceridian, including Executive Vice President of Control Data Corp. (now Ceridian) and President of Ceridian s Computer Products business. Mr. Ousley is also a director of ActivCard, Corp., an authentication software company; Bell Microproducts, a value-added distributor of storage products and systems, semiconductors and computer products and peripherals; Datalink Corporation, a developer of enterprise-class information storage infrastructures; and Savvis, Inc., a provider of internet protocol (IP) applications and services.

CLYDE A. HEINTZELMAN has served as a director of our company since December 1998, and is chairman of the board’s audit committee and a member of the corporate governance committee. Mr. Heintzelman served as the chairman of the board of Optelecom, Inc., from February 2000 to June 2003 and as its interim president and chief executive officer from June 2001 to January 2002. From November 1999 to May 2001, he was president of Net2000 Communications, Inc. From December 1998 to November 1999, Mr. Heintzelman served as our president and chief executive officer. Mr. Heintzelman serves on the boards of TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. and ITC DeltaCom, Inc., and as a member of the audit committee for both companies. Mr. Heintzelman also serves as Chairman of the Board of Citel plc. Mr. Heintzelman received a B.A. in marketing from the University of Delaware and did graduate work at Wharton, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Michigan.

Dr. Pellow is currently a director of the Company. He has served as the executive vice president and chief operating officer of St. John's University since 1999. Dr. Pellow has served at St. John's University in various capacities since 1991. Prior to 1991, Mr. Pellow worked at the accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand and at Chapdelaine & Co., a New York City municipal bond brokerage firm. He, along with Mr. McInerney, is also a director of Savvis Communications Corporation. Dr. Pellow earned his Ed.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, his MBA and BBA from Niagra University and is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Mercedes Walton is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cryo-Cell International, Inc. Prior to joining Cryo-Cell, Ms. Walton served as Chief Executive Officer of Ralston Hill Consulting LLC, a privately held business development and strategic management consulting practice. Ms. Walton previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Applied Digital Solutions, Inc., and prior to joining Applied Digital Solutions, she was corporate Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at AT&T. During her 24-year tenure with AT&T, Ms. Walton held positions in business and consumer operations, global network operations, engineering, marketing & sales and product management.

THOMAS E. MCINERNEY has served as a director of our company since October 1999 and is a member of the board’s compensation committee. Since 1987, Mr. McInerney has been a general partner of Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, a private equity investment firm, and affiliated entities, which collectively are a principal stockholder of our company. He is also a director of Centennial Communications Corp. and ITC DeltaCom, Inc. Mr. McInerney received a B.A. from St. John’s University and attended New York University Graduate School of Business Administration.
