SureWest Communications

Steve Oldham became president and CEO of SureWest Communications on January 1, 2006. As CEO, Oldham has led the efforts at SureWest to respond to profound change in the telecommunications industry driven by newly intense competition and the changing ways customers use services. In one of the most competitive regions of the country, Oldham guided the repositioning of SureWest into the most advanced IPTV, Internet and telephone provider in the markets it serves. As a result of this transformation, SureWest has experienced compound annual growth in broadband revenue of 25% over the last four years and, for the first time, its broadband business now exceeds the revenues of its telecommunications segment. Oldham joined SureWest's Board of Directors in January 2004 and was elected chair of the Audit Committee, serving from June 2004 through December 2005. Immediately prior to joining SureWest, Oldham served as a senior advisor to The Brattle Group, which provides consulting services and expert testimony on economic, finance, regulatory and strategic issues. He previously served 27 years with Sierra Pacific Resources in many capacities including senior vice president for strategic planning and transmission services. He retired in 2002 as the company's senior vice president, energy services. Oldham earned a bachelor's degree in accounting in 1976 from the University of Utah after spending three years in the United States Army Security Agency. He currently serves as vice chairman for the United States Telecom Association, whose 18 members represent over 800 companies across the U.S. Oldham is past president of the Board of Directors of the WARC, an organization providing services to developmentally disabled adults in Northern Nevada.

- Chris Branscum, Chairman and CEO of Wavestream, has extensive experience in all aspects of managing, financing and launching high technology companies. Branscum is also a Managing Director of Hallador Venture Partners LLC, a manager of private equity investments. He served as Chairman and later President and CEO of Repeater Technologies, a supplier of infrastructure equipment for wireless communications networks. He was the originating venture investor and director of Volterra Semiconductor (NASDAQ: VLTR), a pace-setting supplier of advanced switching regulators. He was a founding investor and director of Endgate (now Endwave, NASDAQ: ENWV), a leading supplier of RF subsystems and components to the wireless telecommunications infrastructure markets. He has previously served the Board of Directors of SureWest Communications (NASDAQ: SURW). Branscum was a Partner with Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young). He earned a juris doctor from University of Pacific's McGeorge School of Law, and a bachelor of science in business administration from California State University, Sacramento.
