Alan Jebson retired in May 2006 from his role as Group Chief Operating Officer of HSBC Holdings plc, a position which included responsibility for IT and Global Resourcing.
During a long career with HSBC, Alan held various positions in IT, including the position of Group CIO. His roles included responsibility for the Group’s international systems, including the consolidation of HSBC and Midland systems following the acquisition of Midland Bank in 1993.
Alan originally joined HSBC as Head of IT Audit in 1978 where, building upon his qualification as a chartered accountant, he built an international audit team and implemented controls in the Group’s application systems.
He is also a non-executive director MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. in Canada and Experian Group plc.

Michel began his career at France Telecom in 1986 in the External Networks Division, and then moved to the Industrial and International Affairs Division. After being technical advisor to the Ministers for Transportation from 1991 to 1995, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GlobeCast from 1995 to 1999. He joined the French company Nouvelles Frontières Group as Executive Vice President from December 1999 to the end of 2001, when he moved to the position of Chief Executive Officer of Assystem-Brime, a company specializing in industrial engineering. He came back to France Telecom Group in 2003 as Senior Vice President of Group Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Until January 2006, Michel Combes was Senior Executive Vice President, in charge of NExT Financial Balance & Value Creation and member of the France Telecom Group Strategic Committee. From 2006 to 2008, Michel has been Chairman and CEO of TDF Group. In this period, he led the management team which transformed the strategic plan which when implemented turned the company into an integrated European group focusing on future digital technologies and mobility. During his tenure, TDF Group has increased annual revenues to €1.6 billion, (2006: €900 million). Over half of full year 2008 revenues will be generated abroad, up from just 10% in 2006. Michel Combes is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications.

Vittorio joined the Board in October 2006 as Chief Executive, Europe and Deputy Group Chief Executive of Vodafone Group Plc. He succeeded Arun Sarin as Chief Executive on 29 July 2008. Between 2004 and 2006 he was Chief Executive Officer of RCS MediaGroup in Milan, a leading Media Group, publishing newspapers, magazines and books in Italy, Spain and France. Prior to that, Vittorio held the post of Regional CEO, South Europe, Middle East and Africa, of Vodafone Group Plc, and he was an Executive Director on the main Board. Before the Vodafone acquisition, Vittorio was COO and CEO of Omnitel Pronto Italia, now Vodafone Italy. Vittorio spent the early part of his career at McKinsey & Co, where he was a Partner in the Milan office, working on media, telecommunications and industrial goods. Vittorio holds a Business Degree from Bocconi University and an MBA with Honours from the Harvard Business School.

Andy Halford became the Chief Financial Officer of the Company in July 2005. He joined Vodafone in 1999 as Financial Director for Vodafone Limited, the UK operating company, and in 2001, he became Financial Director for Vodafone's Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa Region. In 2002, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Verizon Wireless in the US. Prior to joining Vodafone he was Group Finance Director at East Midlands Electricity Plc.
Frank Rövekamp, Global Chief Marketing Officer, was appointed to this position and joined the Executive Committee on 1 May 2006. He joined Vodafone four years ago as Marketing Director and a Member of the Management Board of Vodafone Netherlands and later moved to Vodafone Germany as Chief Marketing Officer and a member of the Management Board. Before joining Vodafone, Frank held roles as President and Chief Executive Officer of Beyoo and Chief Marketing Officer with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.
Steve Pusey, joined Vodafone Group Plc on 1st September 2006 as Global Chief Technology Officer. Steve is responsible for all aspects of Vodafone's networks, IT capability and supply chain management. Prior to joining Vodafone, Steve was one of the most senior executives at Nortel and held the position of Executive Vice President, and President, Nortel EMEA. He joined Nortel 1982 and gained a wealth of international experience across both the wireline and wireless industries and in enterprise applications and solutions. During his time as President of Europe from 2001 to 2005, he managed far-reaching change programmes that led the region back to significant growth. Steve Pusey gained telecoms and microelectronics qualifications prior to spending several years with British Telecom and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University.

Matthew Kirk was appointed to his current position and joined the Executive Committee in March 2009. Matthew joined Vodafone in 2006 as Group Director of External Relationships. Prior to that, he was a member of the British Diplomatic Service for more than 20 years. He also led the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office programme of investment in IT and telecommunications for three years and before joining Vodafone served as British Ambassador to Finland.
Ronald Schellekens, Group HR Director, joined Vodafone in January 2009.
Since 2003, Ronald has been the Executive Vice President HR for Royal Dutch Shell Plc’s global downstream business (refining, retail, commercial, lubricants, chemicals and Canadian Oil Sands) responsible for approximately 81,000 employees in 120 countries. Prior to working for Shell, he spent 9 years working for PepsiCo in various international senior HR roles, including assignments in Switzerland, Spain, South Africa, the UK and Poland. In his last role he was responsible for the Europe, Middle East & Africa region for PepsiCo Foods International. Prior to PepsiCo he worked for 9 years for AT&T Network Systems in Human Resources roles in the Netherlands and Poland.
Simon Lewis joined Vodafone as Group Corporate Affairs Director in November 2004. Previously he was Group Director of Communications and Public Policy for Centrica Plc, Director of Corporate Affairs at NatWest Group and the Head of Public Relations at SG Warburg plc. He was President of the Institute of Public Relations in 1997 and is a Visiting Professor at the Cardiff School of Journalism. In 1998, he was seconded to Buckingham Palace for two years as the first Communications Secretary to The Queen. He is also a trustee of the Vodafone Group Foundation.
