Marjorie Scardino is Chief Executive of Pearson, the international education and media business made up of Pearson Education, Penguin and the Financial Times Group. Until January 1997, she was chief executive of The Economist Group (of which Pearson owns 50%), and, prior to 1985, she was a partner in a Savannah, Georgia law firm. With her husband, Albert Scardino, Marjorie founded and published the Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper, The Georgia Gazette. They have three children. Marjorie is a non-executive director of Nokia Corporation and a member of a number of charitable and advisory boards, including, The MacArthur Foundation, The Carter Center and The Victoria & Albert Museum.

Born August 15, 1950. A Finnish national, appointed Chairman of Royal Dutch Shell as from June 1, 2006. Previously he was Vice-President of International Operations of Nokia in 1985. Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Nokia as of June 1, 2006. Olli-Pekka joined Nokia in 1980 as Corporate Counsel, and has held roles of increasing responsibility since that time. In 1987 he was appointed Assistant Vice President, Legal Department, and in 1988 he was named Assistant Vice President, Finance. In 1990 he was promoted to Senior Vice President, Finance. In 1992, Olli-Pekka was named Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In 1997-1998 he served as Corporate Executive Vice President, Nokia Americas, being responsible for all Nokia’s business operations in the Americas. Starting November 1, 2008 Esko Aho is Executive Vice President, Corporate Relations and Responsibility. He heads Nokia's government and public affairs function, which includes the policies and activities for sustainable development and social responsibility. Esko is a member of the Nokia Group Executive Board. Prior to joining Nokia, Esko has enjoyed a long and distinguished career serving Finnish society and politics, holding the post of Prime Minister of Finland from 1991 to 1995. After the 2000 presidential campaign, he joined Harvard University as a lecturer, and following his retirement from the Finnish Parliament, he worked as a private consultant. Esko was appointed President of the Finnish Innovation Fund, SITRA, from July 1, 2004. Esko was elected to Parliament in 1983, serving on several key committees, including the Grand Committee, the Foreign Affairs Committee, and the Finance Committee, as well as serving on the Nordic Council and the Finnish Delegation to the Council of Europe. He has also been Vice-Chairman of Liberal International from 1994 to 2002, Chairman of the Finnish Ski Association from 1996 to 2000, and Vice-Chairman of the Finnish Olympic Committee from 1997 to 2000. More recently, Esko was appointed a Member of Board of Directors at Russian Venture Company from January 2007. He also serves as a Member of the Board at the Nordic power company Fortum Corporation since March 2006. From January 1, 2009 he will be Vice Chairman of the Board, Technology Industries of Finland. He is an invited member of the Club de Madrid, an independent organisation dedicated to strengthening democracy whose members are former heads of state and government, and the InterAction Council, an organisation consisting of former heads of state and government which seeks solutions to the economical, political and social problems confronting humanity. Starting January 1, 2008, Tero Ojanperae holds the position of Executive Vice President, Entertainment and Communities. He is also a member of the Nokia Group Executive Board, a position held since 2005. Entertainment and Communities will build on the desire for compelling, interactive mobile entertainment, as well as consumers’ growing needs to connect with others to discover and share a wide range of media. Tero has overall responsibility for Nokia offerings in music, video and TV, games, software distribution and social networking services. A sought-after industry commentator, author and speaker, he has played a defining role in the research and development work of Nokia’s business groups since joining the company in 1990. From 2006, he served as Chief Technology Officer, a wide ranging role spanning corporate and technology strategy, strategic alliances and partnerships, research, standardization, intellectual property rights, venturing, Mobile Software sales and marketing, Forum Nokia developer activities, business infrastructure and Industry Relations. In 2005, Tero held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer. During 2003-2004 he headed Nokia Research Center, a corporate research unit driving Nokia’s technological competitiveness and renewal. Prior to this role, he held several senior management positions in the former Nokia Networks. He holds a master’s of science degree from the University of Oulu, Finland and a Ph.D degree from Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. Tero was born Nov 12, 1966, in Korsnaes, Finland. He is married and has three children, and he enjoys reading, sports and spending time with his family.

Biography Starting January 1, 2008, Timo Ihamuotila is responsible for Nokia’s global sales within the new Markets unit. He is a member of the Nokia Group Executive Board, a position held since 2007, when appointed Executive Vice President, Sales and Portfolio Management, Mobile Phones. Prior to that role, Timo held the position of Senior Vice President, at Nokia’s CDMA business unit, an integral part of the Mobile Phones business group. In this position, Timo was responsible for the financial results and the overall strategic direction of Nokia’s global CDMA operations, based at Nokia’s CDMA facility in San Diego, California. He joined Nokia in 1993 as Manager for Dealing & Risk Management. In 1999, after a 3 year period away from the company, he rejoined Nokia and was appointed as Director of Corporate Finance, and in 2000 was named Vice President Finance, Corporate Treasurer of Nokia Corporation, Group Treasury. He served as Corporate Treasurer until summer of 2004. Prior to joining Nokia, he worked as Analyst in Asset and Liability Management for the Kansallis Bank, Helsinki and from 1996 to 1999 he worked for Citibank Plc as Vice President of Nordic Derivates Sales. Timo graduated from Helsinki School of Economics and holds a degree of Master of Science (Economics) and Licentiate of Science (Finance), having completed all doctoral courses in Finance. Timo is married and has three children and enjoys reading, tennis, skiing and spending time with his family.

During her twenty years at Nokia, Ulla has held several finance and marketing positions in Finland, UK and US. In her current role as Head of Finance and Strategic Marketing, Ulla is responsible for Finance and Strategic Marketing for Nokia IPR operations globally. Nokia IPR function, consisting of about 200 IPR professionals, manages Nokia patent assets centrally as an investment portfolio bringing tangible business benefits for Nokia. Nokia has been building its IPR portfolio over the last 15 years by investing over EUR 25 billion in Research & Development. The importance of IPR in Nokia's business is crucial and increasing as a result of the high level of R&D investment and rapid technological development. Nokia's current IPR portfolio consists of close to 11,000 patent families attesting Nokia's very strong IPR position across all major cellular standards, data applications and User Interface. Ulla has M.Sc. (ME) in Technology from Tampere University of Technology (1985) and M.B.A. from Helsinki School of Economics (1988).

Lalita D. Gupte retired as Joint Managing Director and Member of the Board of ICICI Bank Limited at the end of October 2006. ICICI BANK is India's largest private sector bank. In 2006, Mrs. Gupte was ranked 93rd in the Forbes "Most Powerful Women in the World List." Her achievements have also been recognized by The Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence where Mrs Gupte and colleagues -- "The Women Behind ICICI" -- were collectively awarded "Business Woman of the Year 2004-2005." She has also received numerous other awards for her contribution to the financial sector.
